Another thing that is not being considered here: I bought a pack of the old Voth Operative Transmissions from the Zen store after the Voth event with every intent on using them once they reintroduced the Breach event. Now they are basically less than worthless, and I blew through 1000 zen to pay for the pack.

So yes, literally, I am being robbed.

I already considered it, and brought it to light. The post that begins with talking about how theft is wrong. I've done the same thing, with buying a 10 Voth Operative Transmissions pack.

No event is guaranteed to be rerun.
No event is guaranteed to use the same tokens again.
Anyone who kept event tokens instead of turning them in took a knowing, willing risk that they may never be used again and there's no point crying about it now it's happened.

And something will almost certainly be done with the FTFO tokens as well, if people boasting about their stockpiles and their plans to farm CCA to skip future events are anything to go by. While I don't expect people will take my advice to turn in your spare FTFO tokens while you have the chance, I will say I told you so when they get made useless and/or deleted.

Actually, in the past, the first of the new, new Breach Events in March 2017, the Marks Choice Pack did include the Lukari Marks, which were introduced only 36 days previous.

The one negative side I see to all this arguments on the pros and cons, is that all TFOs are just going to see even more aggrieved people sitting AFK, because participation is not required to gain reward in these situations , so the dev's designing these TFOs are wasting their time as people will not appreciate the work involved in creating these battles zones, as now people are expecting to just be given every thing for doing nothing. Me me me self self self whine whine whine is all this particular debacle encourages more into this game, a simple compensation turn in for all now obsolete stored items would calm some of these issues , slotted projects could have been compensated for tokens applied to a project, It should always be taken and made clear holding old projects open does not guarantee that event returning in the same form with the same token requirements as has occurred to many things historically in this game. ie Q tokens, crafting material, annieversary event tokens etc

If getting rid of unusable 'Tokens' was the goal, then why don't they destroy the previous Winter, Summer, or Anniversary 'Tokens'? The reason is they are already worthless because they were Year labeled. The 'Tokens' being destroyed today did have use/worth as they were not Year labeled.

Forced theft from someone, especially via deletion is wrong.

What are you people on about? Didn't participation in the event -- even partially -- also involve XP and dilithium, RNG loot drops and/or lockboxes? Never mind the thought that you have already used any of that either for the moment, the salvage or the EC, let's focus on the fact that you're hoarding a currency that has no value outside of the event in the hopes of using it in the future that almost never comes to be?

I find myself in partial agreement with @tahnalos in that if the currency was bought with Zen and then not used is a form of wrong, but it's not entirely Cryptic's problem -- or fault -- if someone is going to purchase something from the Zen Store in the hopes of boosting a project to completion. It's the end user for buying it and wasting it by letting it sit in inventory in the hopes of getting something better from it in the future.

You people on the other hand are taking a useless currency and making it into an issue in the hopes of bartering for something from nothing and are going on and on about it in the hopes that Cryptic will bend.

For the personal record, when it came to any event in question. If I didn't complete it, I deleted the useless currency and the project in the Reputations tab. I believe, what's the point of holding onto something I'll never complete? It's come, it's gone, I missed out on the opportunity. I'm not going to cry when a decision is being made against some sort of fanatical hoarding in the game. Believe me when I say, I've seen YouTube videos and streams and the amount of creosote-like hoarding I've seen in the Inventory and banking tabs makes me absolutely cringe.

    And I'm a collector too...

I was taught economics in high school (more than 36 years ago) to wisely use my available funds for purchases. Don't be crying to the company that you decided to throw Zen for leg up for the event and then not use it as it was intended.

I'm sure that Cryptic will partially cave and at the end of the summer, you might have the ability to turn them in for some trinket payout.

Take this from a lifer... In the end all this noise is just that -- noise for your poor decision making in the hopes of holding onto useless currency because at the time you were collecting it, you didn't like the item that was being offered for the event and hopes to use it for some future event you might have liked better.

The same could be said about the slotted events... People who didn't finish had no guarantee the event with compatible tokens would ever run again, so leaving the projects open was the same gamble, yet they are being compensated. Some people are just asking for a fair exchange. Some people want more than they should by asking for a 1-1 ftfo trade, especially as some have hundreds of the old tokens stockpiled. But the equivalent of the 1 token project(up to 13 as a one off) followed by deletion would be fair, in my opinion.

And yes i agree stockpiling FTFO Commendations will only lead to them doing this again down the road.

If you buy a ticket for a sports event, then choose not to go, do you demand a refund?

If you have a photo of a sports game but don't go to the game and didn't even by a ticket, do you expect them to give you all the souvenirs, hot dogs, sodas, peanuts, and Cracker Jacks©™?

Pretty sure last time this event ran that god awful static effect that hid the minimap and entire game screen didn't last for the entire 5-10 minutes of a run and wasn't quite as in your face.

I ended up following a team mate and autofiring because of it and made the run pretty worthless.

If you're going to throw bs mechanics like that at players then give them a way to counter them, such as those black out clouds that you can simply fly around.

For anyone that doesn't think this was an intentional TRIBBLE job. They removed all of our tokens alright but left in the daily turn in for Crystal shards. Which means they could have left tokens with players to turn in and run the event.

    SO by some players logic..

Got token but no slotted event = Expected compensation..
Slotted events + Tokens for other events not slotted = Event reward + Compensation for tokens

LMFAO!!!!!! I have events slotted which BECAUSE OF REAL LIFE I could not finish and tokens (Which I got for going above 100% because I FELT LIKE IT AND NOT BECAUSE SOME ONE FORCED ME TOO COLLECT/HOARD) from events not slotted..So should I expect compensation for going above 100%..HELL NO!!

Tell me one thing..You say you guys put in effort hoarding surplus tokens so that you don't have to play the next event and just dump the tokens in yet still farm the tokens on various toons to sit idol during the event WITHOUT EVEN SLOTTING IT, because of said hoarded tokens..What about the other players who make the effort to slot the event every time and actually play the event??

I also like the claims of a few implying that some players have invested only a single token, YOU KNOW THIS HOW EXACTLY, let me guess by word of mouth like everyone discusses this on chat..Over the years its normally the other way, where players will talk when they are a few short of the mark..GET REAL..

Also the next claim that the ENTITLED PLAYERS played the event beyond the 14 required to hoard the tokens and NOT slot the event is LAUGHABLE AT BEST..Its so difficult to slot the event even on the second last day even after collecting a bucket load of tokens claiming that they prefer to collect all the tokens then slot the event is again laughable because despite having 14+ tokens you were not capable of slotting the event..And most of these same players are demanding for compensation mostly in dilithium which indicates they were hoarding so that the 50K dilithium was an easy option without going through the event but played it anyway on a different toon probably to hoard more tokens which basically nullifies the very purpose of not having to play the event thus equaling no effort to put in..Just lazy IMO..And just asking for dilithium is asking for the Zen/Dil exchange to get into a mess..

These are LIMITED TIME EVENTS AND NOT FREAKING REPS which are not time bound so don't draw a comparison there..

In-game currency wise we have a bit too many before todays patch..Here are some, but not all..Namely.
    -Weekend Tokens,
    -Holo Tokens,
    -Voth tokens
    -Mirror transponders,
    -Crystalline Shards,
    -TFO tokens,
    -Dilithium,
    -Zen,
    -Latinum,
    -Lobi crystals,
    -EC,
    -Anniversary tokens,
-Summer event tokens (Which has Risian currency as a sub division for the summer store),
-Winter event token (Which are sub divided further for the main event and buying from the winter store)

As I see it..What cryptic did was long overdue and a good way to clean up the in-game currencies..I had a few tokens from going over 100% requirement..And I am NOT UPSET BY THIS!!! Happy it was done..

They deleted them, because they did not want us to spend our shards in this project. o:)

If you look at the event. It calls for 14 of the new tokens for the main and a shard for the daily.

I still haven't gone through all my characters to claim all the now suddenly finished projects. Whenever I log into characters, I also have the urge to do all the rep projects and the Admiralty tasks, but that is getting tedious.

I have trouble believing that a lot of people were sitting on stacks of surplus tokens but not on a bunch of unfinished projects.
There will be a lot of unexpected unrefined Dilithium for many players...

The reason to hold on to tokens from previous events is because once you claim the reward from turning in 14 of them, the dilithium per token is far lower when you turn in the excess. And if you save up enough of them after getting the reward you'll have enough to claim the next one on day one. Especially if the reward is only worth claiming on one or two characters, in which case the other characters will save the tokens for next time.

Does the reward at least offer discovery marks as a choice this time?

If its bought with real cash..Then By all means beat the TRIBBLE outta cryptic..But Hoarded and/or grind method through dil farming..That's on the player for not using them..

And no its not TMBS..Its just a bunch of kids/diaper adults with no real lives crying over being entitled for grinding and their especially large amount of BS IN A GAME..The ones who used real cash can by all means beat up cryptic and ask for refunds or whatever..But people who bought the packs and didn't use them is like what a few said, beyond comprehension..

50000 dil for 14 days is 3571 dil per token..

3571 dil into the full 21 days is 74991 dil..

If you wanna go by only the 2000/day mission then its bad, 2000 dil into 21 is 42000 dil..

2000 dil into 7 remaining days is 14000 dil..

SO 50000 (14 day completion)+14000 (Remaining 7 days)=64000 dil for the full 21 days which is 3047 dil per token..A difference of 524 dil (3571-3047), 15% difference, so not much..So doing the event then the daily is adequate and ONLY 15% less, not a big loss over a 21 day span..

    Just my 2 cents..

After server restart today the TFO's stop completing (the ones slotted from past) also what happens to the ones that are maybe after the ones slotted will they be completed as well eventually (again still the older tfo's not newer ones)

update: looks like it is only the past mirror universe tfo's that are completing but none of the others atm.

Update2: ignore last update as I had a toon that had two mirror invasions slotted and completed but none of her others did then the next toon had two MI slotted but only one was complete, then the next one had a CC completed and a MI but nothing else.

As far as the questions you posed upstream, we answered them.
Look, I've had my share of bugs and "unusal account behaviour" resulting in me losing a lot of asset on multiple occasions. I don't want an answer from a fellow player which doesn't bind Cryptic in any way, I wanted an official response which I could quote in a ticket should the need arise! And an official dev post is meant for that.

Did they get rid of the Zefram Cochran Memorial Statues? They shouldn't have as that was not a 14-Day Event per their Announcement with the usual un-proofread text.

It was not a "14-Day Event" but was clearly listed in every single list they published so far.

That's why I asked, what was the actual result, because late last week they pulled back on addressing Weekend Event stuff until later in the Summer. They also mentioned Kobayashi Maru which WAS never a 14-Day Event, only Weekend. Sompek they included as well, but that had a 14-Day Event with different 'Tokens' in addition to its normal Weekend Event runs.

I also safed marks from the latest event. So now I did put them in the Crystalline Entity event and on day one I already have 9/14 progress.

Keeping event tokens for the next event was and is still common practise.

Looks like Mirror Invasion project completion isn't working properly. Already came across 6 projects across 6 of my characters that haven't finished, and I'm still not done cycling through my pylons.

Add the Breach completion to the list of not working as well.
