Intel Kinetic Magnet / Borg KCB

Specifically looking at the kinetic damage resistance debuff that KM puts on the target, will the Borg KCB benefit from this since it does kinetic damage?

    Yes, it will. It lowers resistance to any source of Kinetic Damage which would include the KCB.

    Overall though, you might find the results a bit lack luster as the effect is canceled once the target takes a certain amount of damage. If you use Rank 1 for example, the effect is canceled at 20k damage so basically all it does is slightly accelerate the time it takes to reach that number. Overall, doesn't seem worth a bridge officer slot.. it would have been a lot better if the effect lasted for X Seconds instead of canceling at a damage threshold. Then you could apply it and try and cram in as much damage as possible before it expired. :wink:

    Overall though, yes.. it should work with the KCB.

    I think they got rid of Kinetic Magnet's damage threshold, so it might be interesting.

    Yeah, I was wondering about the threshold because I don't see it on the live version; on sto.gamepedia the tooltip is:
    (I'm using rank II)

    -25 Kinetic Damage Resistance Rating for 12 sec
    While debuffed, all Mines and Targetable Torpedos within 5km of Foe:
    Confused
    Dragged toward affected Foe
    Fragile: Effect ends prematurely after Foe takes 30,000 Kinetic Damage

    On the live server the "Fragile" line is not there, so the damage threshold is gone maybe? I didn't comb through patch notes....

    Seems it was one of the few things buffed instead of nerfed with Season 13: http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/10476223-pc-patch-notes-for-4/25/17 I don't think that it's been touched since then, and the wiki page was last edited before that patch.

    If you're Fed, or KDF willing to get the Cleave ship (Na'Qjej Intel Battlecruiser), combining it with the 'Ceaseless Momentum' Starship Trait and a pile of torps sounds fun. Add in the Console - Universal - Mining Drill Laser Emitter for a nice big Kinetic laser too.
