Nova is canon, and its T5, so its absolutely included in this. Not sure why you would be all frowny when you finally get word that what you have been wanting is coming.

Probably because the T6 Nova crowd will never be happy.

When it comes out, it'll not have the "right" specialization, the console/ability will "wrong for the ship," it'll be "too weak" despite not being an escort or cruiser, the T6 update will be "ugly as hell," and so on.

Even the T6 Connie diehards weren't this demanding. Nor did they take over any thread having to do with new content.

Anyways, back to the topic. We'll be seeing T6 variants of all canon ships in the coming while, so everyone will be able to fly their fav at end-game. As for debating the details of specific ships, there are threads for that as well.

That's an unfair comment. Firstly. I'm the only one who has really been overly vocal about this matter; I'd elaborate regarding why but my reasons are outlined in the thread I made regarding this back in September (and it's still fairly active) so won't repeat it here.

However what I will note (if you'd read my thread) is that I have REPEATEDLY made it clear that I, personally, really couldn't care less what spec/consoles/BOFF layout it gets. In fact I wouldn't give a stuff if it didn't get turned into a T6 ship. My beef is, and always has been, that the model desperately needs a quality pass. It's not canon accurate and never was, and dates back to the days when this was an Atari game and looks like something ripped off a Playstation One.

And I absolutely GUARANTEE you that I most definitely WON'T pick fault with it - but again, have been waiting five years and there is no end in sight.

This is true. @reyan01 has only ever really cared about the ship looking right.

    Which one though?

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to single any one player out, and you definitely seem to be among the more reasonable of the "T6 my fav ship" crowd. Definitely no harm meant :weary:

5 years is a long time to cling to hope, reyan...Especially when it's been a long road of disappointment, disdain, and neglect for the Nova from higher-ups. Everyone has a breakpoint. I worry about yours. :(

Is this a jab at critique of the Resolute? The Resolute really does have a sub-par layout, console and trait. Feedback on sub-par ships is necessary so that Cryptic can make ships that are worth buying (and warn potential customers about buying a lemon).

The Fleet Advanced Heavy Cruiser [T6] is ok. It's what I use on one of my characters. It's just the C-store version that is garbage.

I don't know if the [T6] Nova will have an updated appearance. The Excelsior did not get an update when the Resolute was released. It was not updated until several months later.

By "all canon ships" I wonder if they actually mean "all" or just the ones already in game. It would be nice to get the four engine Excelsior variant from the ship mothball yard in TNG, and even better, the Yeager from DS9 (those two are about the only Fed ships I would seriously consider buying). Another nice thing would be the original McQuarrie ship that we see the tail of in TMP and later the whole thing in the same mothball yard as the four engine Excelsior.

Another thing that would be fun, though probably not at all practical, is a generic "kitbash cruiser" based on all the parts of the kitbash fleet from the Dominion war that could be assembled into custom frankenships.

Still, even if they do not add any new ones it would be nice to finally get a T6 Ha'nom and Orion peanut.

It likely means all, given the New Orleans was never in the game before the T6 release.

What if anything happens with existing T5U ships? Will we see automatic upgrades? Or, as I suspect, are they basically now trash?

    That thing is so weird.

The nacelle pylons are supposed to move, like the Intrepid. It also has no real engineering section and the "neck" section is not even solid.

So basically if you spent a ton of money trying to get most of the original C store ships at T5 one basically should have just thrown that money into the trash since now they will be coming with a copy cat version, call it X and it is a T6 version that will cost you MORE MONEY.

IMO this is a GREAT money grab and a disservice to those of us who supported STO since the start.

The T5U token is a JOKE and should be looked up before bringing any more similar T6 boxed or C store versions of former ships.
Why not design a FULL T6 token upgrade version that would upgrade that ship from a T5 to a corresponding T6 version or a discount token to be used to acquire any T6 upgraded versions of what you bought in the past.
Probably a little to late but personally I wont spent any money in rehashed versions of former ships without getting a proper discount. Why pay or entice for laziness when they should have come up with newer ship designs instead of copy/paste and sell same old stuff from years ago and call it T6? Just IMO.

You're like... 5 years too late with that comment?

And Cryptic's response 5 years ago was that our T5 ships will be just fine. Tbh, I bought one single T6 version of all the T5's I'd picked up previously, and that was the Narendra 'cause it's a fav of mine.

EDIT: I did pick up a T6 Scimi, now that I think of it. 'Cause epic murderbird is epic ;)

i'm not worried for Reyan. after years for lobbying a t6 miranda, it came out and with a higher quality model. With the T6 thing coming along i can't see any reason to keep the Nova from an updated appearance.
    T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW.
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

Actually have found most vanity shields look rubbish on it. High res texture on a low res model and all that....

They could easily do a TNG-themed pack of T5-T6 upgrades that we don't have yet.

    - T6 Luna (Riker Class, Tac)
    - T6 Constellation (Picard Class, Eng)
    - T6 Olympic (Crusher Class, Sci)

Hell yes, gimme that T6 Luna.

Not sure why I got the frowny face for that, I'm not that die-hard of a player that I worry too much about seating. I'm sure whatever they do I'll be happy as I'm just looking for updated models for the Equinox/Rhode Island variant.
