The next three posts are story summaries for Omnitabula.

    Omnitabula part 1

1: Phantoms at Resort 7 [Risa]
An investigation into a message requesting a meet quickly turns into something else when an unidentified force attacks.
Please note that these descriptions are brief summaries of what occurs during the mission.

2: The Omnitabula [Audentia Conference Room]
The orb known as the "Omnitabula" is discussed on the Audentia. The Omnitabula is an orb that is believed to be a repository of knowledge of an ancient race known as the Xauseans (x is pronounced with a "sh" sound).

One of the orb's layers of encryption is deciphered during the meeting. It seemed to be hinting at coordinates to a location, likely the Xausean homeworld itself.

    An explosion also happens.

3: Ambush [Deep Space - Near Risa System]
The orb is lost after an ambush by the unidentified force from before.

    4: A Retired Admiral [Earth - East Eurasia - Gautier's House]
To recover the orb, several people must be recruited to increase the chances for success. First, the now retired admiral Gautier. He agrees to help recover the orb if his dialogue with a Tellerite businessman is settled.

5: Competitive Duo [Station Beta Gemini 896]
Next is a competitive pair, Captains Vasco and Brynjar. They'll help recover the orb if their problem concerning a large gorn wearing a blood-red scarf is solved.

    6: A Cynic and a Squadron [2063-FC]
Captain Ansgar and the Leapardus squadron are next. They must first finish dealing with Elachi base before they join any mission to recover an orb.

    7: Shadow Operative [Cardassia Prime]
An operative seeks help with a matter on Cardassia Prime. In return, she will help recover the Omnitabula. Her name is Amanda Atalanta. She claims to be working for S31, something her older sister is unaware of.

    8: Rescue and Retrieval [7223 - Sierra]
Before the attack, Amanda, for the sake of the mission, tells her sister of her current employment. Admiral Eveline Atalanta disapproves upon hearing the news.

Amanda reveals the existence of a place called the "Deadzone", a region unable to be safely explored. It is suggested that the orb might be the key to finding a way into this region safely.

Amanda brings information to the team about the unidentified force, which is known by the name of "Enigma," it's intentions for the orb unknown.

The orb is retaken after a surprise attack using the transwarp drives Amanda Atalanta "offered."

9: Checkpoints Checkpoints [Multiple Locations - Near the Federation Border]
The Omnitabula has been deciphered further by Enigma. Among the newly readable information are four coordinates. The team splits to investigate these. The transwarp drives are again used in the hope of taking the lead from the enemy.

Two of the coordinates turn out to be a black-hole and a magnetar, and clues were only recovered from one of these.

10: The Closing Door [Dead Zone Outskirts]
An entrance into a region called the "deadzone" is located despite the missing clue (or so it is hoped). However, it will become impassable within minutes as it closes and will continue to be impassable for the next decade.

Enigma has followed on the heels of the team. Admiral Gautier and the crew of the Veilleur sacrifice themselves to slow down the enemy and ensure the team's safety.

    Omnitabula part 2

    1: The Deadzone [Deadzone]
Warp drive is inoperable, including transwarp within the deadzone. Long range sensors are also useless. The only thing to do now is to find Xausea.

The team, now called "Task Force Impromptu" by some, is attacked by a swarm unidentified craft not Enigma. To find safety from further attacks, the team races towards a dense dust cloud.

    2: Unexpected System [Deadzone]
The large dust cloud secretly houses a planet that could be Xausea. An investigation is launched when a Bolian lifesign is detected among a pre-warp population. An away team is sent to retrieve him before any damage is done to the native population.

3: On the Surface [Un-named Planet]
The Bolian had made a home among the inhabitants of the planet they call Eosmyria. It turns out that visitors from space is not new to them, probably because others get lost within the deadzone's clouds of dust. He leads the away team to the village's leader, Ae'ela.

    4: The Ancient Doorway [Eosmyria]
Ae'ela guides the away team to a doorway to an ancient temple. The Omnitabula opens the door.

5: Guardian [The Ancient Temple - Interior]
Two puzzles needed to be solved to proceed to a secret chamber within the temple. Solving the puzzels opens a doorway to the deepest chamber.

Within the deepest chamber is something calling itself the "Guardian," a system left in place to protect Eosmyria and prevent others from finding Xausea. It is responsible for the deadzone's creation (and possibly the swarm of unidentified craft that attacked earlier).

The guardian has been deteriorating for some time and is now no longer able to protect Eosmyria. It reveals that the planet is not Xausea. Now the Guardian wishes for someone to destroy Xausea's secret before it can harm anyone else (the secret that is responsible for the Xausean's dissapearence).

The guardian downloads something to the Omnitabula that will allow it to find Xausea's secret.

6: Escape Part 1 [The Secret Tunnel]
Travel through a spider ridden passage is necessary to escape Enigma's pursuit.

7: Escape Part 2 [Eosmyria - Unknown Location]
Next task is to make it to the high ground in the midst of a jungle after exiting the tunnel. Once there, a stand is made against Enigma while awaiting rescue.

    8: Threshold [Deadzone Solar System]
The task force finds itself engaged in battle with an Enigma scouting party, with the main fleet no doubt close by. During the battle one of the moons deconstructs to reveal a gateway. After setting up a small minefield near the entrance to slow down Enigma the team crosses the gate's threshold to destinations unknown.

9: "To Boldly Go..." [Destination - Unknown]
It is noticed that wherever the transwarp gate is going, it's not in the Milky Way.

    Omnitabula part 3

    1: The Unexpected [Unknown Space]
The task force arrives somewhere not too far from the Milky Way, but definitely outside of it. However, before they could explore the planet before them, one of the many ancient ships surrounding the planet fires upon Amanda Atalanta's ship, the Quartet. She and her crew (of which was only a skeleton due) were rescued before the Quartet explodes.

The task force them attempt to escape, and partially succeed. Their transwarp drives got them away from the planet before burning out from splash damage incurred by the ancient ship's weapon. Said ancient ship is in pursuit.

The task force makes for a nearby nebula under impulse power, but the ancient ship overtakes them and fires. This ignites one of the gas clouds in the nebula, composed of an unidentified compound, and a rift is formed. To escape, the task force overloads their warp drives to capitalize on their space stretching properties (expansion behind specificially).

After taking some time to repair, the task force cautiously returns to the planet. It is unguarded on one side. Enigma has already dismantled the minefield and is engaged in battle with the Ancient ships. The task force take this opportunity to beam an away team down to the planet.

Before beaming, it is noticed that the system's sun appears to have been dying slowly.

Please note that these descriptions are only brief summaries of what occurs during the mission.

    2: Xausea [Oceanic City]
The away team beams into a floating city, unscarred by time. The whole planet appears to have been "frozen." Nothing has eroded over the centuries, and geological activity has all but ceased. The team investigates two bodies found in the city's streets, perfectly preserved by whatever phenomena has preserved the planet. Several team members almost faint, leading to a use of stimulants to maintain conciousness. It seems the phenomena will affect them if they remain too long on the planet.

The away team quickly heads for the city's central structure. The Omnitabula opens the door.

    3: The Central Chamber [Xausea]
The team find themselves in a library of some kind. Exploration reveals some recoverable data (the phenomena is also affecting data integrity). When a door is found, Vasco and Brynjar decide to see who can open it first. Vasco sets off a trap, blinding him. For their momentary lack of good judgement, Vasco and Brynjar are sent back into orbit.

After solving some puzzles, the door is open and a wide chamber is revealed. A device is seen before them, and it is confirmed to be the device the guardian spoke of. However, the orb appears to be reacting to something below. While leapardus is left behind to deal with the device, the away team heads down.

They find a gate. Upon approaching it, it activates...

4: Beyond Time or Place... [Unknown]
The team has no idea where they are. A spire seen before them ignites their curiosity, so they investigate. Upon reaching the spire, a voice addresses them.

The voice reveals that the Xausean's built their device with knowledge obtained from the voice's species, which is dying (even though the are non-corporeal). It claims that they have been imparting knowledge to the Xauseans to preserve it, and because they believed the Xauseans to be ready. Then the Xauseans destroyed themselves. Clearly they were not ready, although they managed to preserve the knowledge they obtained within several Omnitabulas, and had them sent to their Milky Way outposts.

The hope is that at some point, the civilizations of the Milky Way will be ready for the knowledge contained within the orbs. That time has not yet come, and the voice re-encrypts the Omnitabula brought to it. The away team is sent back to Xausea immediately after.

    5: Gauntlet Part 1 [Xausea]
Enigma has broken through to the surface. The team has to fight their way back to Leapardus, who were unable to prevent Enigma from taking the Xausean device. Before they could escape, they find themselves being attacked by heavy Enigma forces. Eveline Atalanta is fatally wounded during the battle. Before she dies, she has a conversation with her sister, Amanda Atalanta that no one hears.

Once transport enhancers are placed, the away team beams back to their ships.

    6: Gauntlet Part 2 [Xausea]
Enigma has captured one of the ancient ships, and it is heading for the gate back to the Milky Way. The task force attempts to stop it before it enters the gate, but fails. During pursuit, the ancient ship, named "Juggernaut", having been modified with the device on the surface vaporizes Xausea.

Before entering the gate themselves, the Leapardus squadron decides that they must destroy the gate to prevent any more ancient vessels (and any Enigma ships with them) from returning to the Milky Way.

7: The Juggernaut [Milky Way - Deadzone]
The final showdown with Enigma for this series. The team arrives just in time to see Enigma's Juggernaut approaching Eosmyria, weapon charging. T'Agni, the only surviving member of Leapardus, arrives just before the gate behind is destroyed. The team gather with reconfigured deflector producing a sheer to destroy the vessel. The threat is over.

The collection of gas and dust that make up the deadzone is seen to have dissapated, and stars are revealed to the new inhabitants of Eosmyria for the first time.

8: Remembrances Part 1 [Utopia Planitia]
A funeral is held at Utopia Planitia. Speeches are given, and Admiral Quinn is nearby to conclude some after action debriefs. The Admiral decides that the team deserved a vacation on Risa.

Amanda Atalanta is absent from these events.

    9: Remembrances Part 2 [Risa]
Ansgar, Brynjar, Elena, Vasco, and T'Agni have final words with the player. Amanda Atalanta too as she arrives as well.

Atalanta says that she no longer works for Section 31, and will try to do right by Eveline's memory from here on out. Perhaps she can help prepare the civilization of the Milky Way for whatever remains to be discovered in the Omnitabula.

Alright, last post from me for the rest of the month and/or year. Maybe. Maybe not. Who knows, I don't. Do you? Anyway...

The three posts before this one have been converted to update logs. As I make and publish updates to my missions throughout the year I'll record them in those posts. In this way you can see at a glance what's changed in these missions for the year 2019.

The foundry feature will be sunsetting April 11th, 2019.

Transcendence Part 4 will be releasing soon and parts 2 and 3 have been recorded for youtube and later narrations. I'll naturally be capturing part 4 for preservation and later presentation too but if you can give these missions a try before sunset. It was our last, grand multi-author collaboration.
