I would be nice is Wide Arc Dual Beam banks were added to the R&D Crafting System of the game.

I actually would not mind something like a narrow-arc heavy hitting lance type beam weapon added to the crafting. The damage you lose for the arc mod on the dual beam would make it almost to a point just going all beam array would be better, where as a narrow-arc lance array/bank would help builds that use beam banks with a good jump in damage output while they are still in their normal firing arc instead of some piddly damage as they turn to get into their firing arc. Even though we have ships that have the lance weapon already still would be nice to see them on more ships, but the ones the lance is native to could be a stronger version an does not take up a weapon slot making it still a nice boon for those ships.

R&D seems like a forgotten system as far as the devs are concerned.

Which is a shame given that they've set up the endeavour rewards to flood the game with R&D materials as well as introducing the escort only heavy/speacial/whatever weapon which has no craftable option in order to push folk into zen shop & gambleboxes to get alternatives.

Wide arc Dual beams? Like 180 degree fore weapons? Lol.

I agree on the Lance idea posted above, but the wide arc dual beams are something pretty exotic. I'd say that even if that is available as a weapon, it still doesn't dethrone the beams.

Maybe this could be a new meta with some adjustments, catching up to the cannons.

Lance weapons of every energy type should be craftable as Experimental Heavy Weapons. T6 in crafting, of course.

Wide Arc DBBs might be interesting, but with the power drawdown of DBBs and the reduction in damage of an Arc weapon, it might just be about the same as a Beam Array as far as damage output is concerned.

An honestly if they did put in a lance-bank beam type they could give it a innate shield pen or armor pen effect, kinda like how the dual heavy cannons ave the innate critical severity effect innately on them. For me the issue I see with making lance weapons experimental is that it would turn them into weapons really only seen on tactical vessels, and you might see alot of desire for then a cannon variant added for those wanting to match weapon types. Though i could see them adding a mass production model of lance weapons that are usable on all ships, but then kinda like the spinal lance of the Gal-x a much more heavy duty an impressive lance weapon classified as a experimental weapon that is built into tactical vessel like how the other experimental weapon i would think would be.

Now I was thinking it would be more interesting instead of getting something like a craft-able wide-arc beam bank, maybe instead go with getting us something like a variant of the quad-cannon so a quad-beam bank that would be like the quad cannon a limit one per ship, though would prefer the lance weapon as it would retain some more of the uniqueness between beams an cannons. Also making it that we could craft the different base energy types of the quad-beam bank, maybe even add our ability to craft quad-cannons of the different types if we own one of the quad-cannons already.

Though majorly I would just love to see the ability for players to get access to more crafting options via drops in game, rewarded for doing different ques, or missions even. They could be used as incentives for players to venture into alot of content, and also just keep interest in the crafting system via adding more an more things that you can make. Even having some of the recipes obtainable via the lockboxes would be fine too.

What does that even mean since crafting is done by levels? 1-15 and then up to level 20 for a greater mark improvement chance. Do you mean level 6 crafting or level 15 crafting?
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

Max Crafting level, of course. Sorry for the confusion, I made a mistake in that I was thinking of Reputation when I was talking about Crafting. Two different systems.

Experimental Heavy Weapons Lances would be craftable at Level 20. But Reputation derived Lances would need to be T6!

We really need some recipes for Level 20.

I agree more than a NARROW beam would be more useful. Dual beams have a 90 arc now and beam arrays are 270....seems kinda odd to make a 180 degree beam? BUT a 45 degree beam with a damage boost would be great. Build in an automatic beam overload 1 function or something?

Yeah that is what I was thinking. Just looking at how the stats on the different beam types is, it would be hard to stat out a wide-arc beam bank that would be useful enough that you would use it over just going with a beam array. I am actually thinking though make it have a build in shield/armor pen like how the dual heavy cannons have a built in critical severity, or a small shield bypass effect on it.
