So amazingly enough Star Trek Online is still going strong. Now I quit a while back shortly after the Iconian Wars. That was an EPIC storyline. Then the new Dawn and temporal TRIBBLE happened and that made me lose interest. HOwever recently I saw a trailer feautring Odo and apparenlty A LOT have happened and a war witht he Hur'q is now in place?

Anyway, so now that i am back I am completely lost! There was once a mission tab that like me carry out whatever storyline mission I wanted. It is now all greyed out. IS it a seperate expansion pack I need to go buy now? Also a lot of my current questline has the "Hail Starfleet" checked in green but grayed out.

Most of those are level 50's stuff. Should I throw that away?

I am a level 53 Escort captain and have gone with a straight canon build before with Mark 12's Purple items across the board. My personal weapon is also mark 12. Are those still viable or am I trash now? It's a phaser canon build and the fleet action I went in show that I am okay. BUT all of the bread crumb is all grayed out.

What am I suppose to do? Where do I go? I was at Earth Space Dock but there is hardly anyone there now. Where are all the players congregating now a days? Will I be destroy?

The mission journal was revamped at one point.. and just to be frank, it wasn't done very well.

Those missions are still available, but for some reason they added mission queues (now called Task Force Operations or 'TFO's') into the main story line. If you have one in your journal that you haven't completed, it greys out the missions after it.

The good news.. it can be skipped.

Start at the first tab and go through your journal. You should have replay options for missions up to a certain point where you will have the option to hail or skip. Press Skip if you don't want to queue for it (hail if you want to do it.) After you skip it, it should unlock the rest of your journal. There might be more TFO's that you need to skip in each arc, just look for those and skip them and you should be all set.

    Hope that helps.

These missions featuring the Hur'q are possibly some of the best that Cryptic has ever produced.

The story line has been re-ordered to an extent since you left. You may have to go back and replay and/or skip some previous missions. Great thing is at level 65 (or less depending upon mission minimum level) you can skip right ahead and play them in any order you want to get the gear you need. Some of the grayed out portions can be fixed just by choosing to skip the mission in question or simply interacting with a NPC.

Other missions not currently in the main story line that you may be accustomed to are in the available tab. You can do the missions in order if you enjoy the story line as well. Also, set your current mission as 'active' in the in progress tab so that goals and objectives are at the top of your list. Another recent improvement - you can transwarp for free instantly to any mission's starting point.
IS it a seperate expansion pack I need to go buy now?
There's no need to purchase any expansion pack unless you want to. All content is free to play.
Most of those are level 50's stuff. Should I throw that away?
End game mission rewards are usually purple Mk 12. If you do have some left over level 50 items there's no need to throw them away. Use them to complete missions that give you the gear you need. Many items can also be upgraded and re-engineered now.
I am a level 53 Escort captain and have gone with a straight canon build before with Mark 12's Purple items across the board. My personal weapon is also mark 12. If you're an escort captain using Mk 12 gear and also have Mk 12 gear on your person you should do just fine. Escorts using cannon builds work just as good as when you took a break... the highest damage potential in the game. Phaser's are great as there's lots of mission rewards that make a phaser build even better.
What am I suppose to do? Where do I go? I was at Earth Space Dock but there is hardly anyone there now. Where are all the players congregating now a days? Will I be destroy?
Open your mission journal and click on the first mission chapter that isn't grayed out. ESD is still a busy place whenever I'm there... still a den of iniquity lol.

Edit: quotes / should have refreshed page to see Sea's earlier response

Skipping is highly bugged for some people unfortunately, and some of the missions in the "available" tab are not actually available (like for instance the Kobali ones) unless you find and complete some unknown prerequisite that was not fixed when they were put in the "available" tab.

On the bright side, all the special weekend stuff they have practically every week is available and many seem to ignore the missions and just do that special stuff.

Maybe you should shelve your current skipper and start a new one, TOS, DSC, KDF. play through from the beginning so you can follow how the game design works now

Hello, I am too a returning player. I have been 4 months away. I was in a fleet and I discovered that I am not in the fleet anymore. I am the founder of the fleet. I did send a message to the fleet members. I looked around and it does sometimes show in the fleet search area. I am assuming that either I have been kicked out somehow and for some reason or that the fleet has been removed? If a fleet has been removed is there a way to bring it back? Can anyone help me please? Thank you.
