Styx Dreadnought Cruiser Bridge

richyrich1991richyrich1991 Member Posts: 139 Arc User
Ok I've mentioned this before on other posts but I wanted to give it's own post, I absolutely love everything about the new Styx ship, it's everything I wanted a Terran dreadnought to be and more, all except for the bridge. Now I wasn't expecting a new unique bridge as most ships don't have them these days but as a DSC ship I was expecting for it to have one of the existing DSC bridges but instead we get this:

1X6hvNt.jpg

The same bridge that the Delta Rising alien ships had, and worst of all it's locked as this, I can't even use bridges I've paid for on the C-store with it. Now I get the idea that the 2 DSC bridges we already had are locked to Federation characters and as this is a multi-faction ship it can't use them and I was fine with that (though still wanted my c-store bridges), until I played the new mission and find out they actually made a Terran DSC bridge for it.

At no point in development did anyone think "we're making a mirror DSC bridge", "we're making a mirror DSC ship, could we use your bridge?".

zd91nJA.jpg

I mean look at it, it's such a better fit.

Now I don't know if it's possible at this stage for this bridge to be turned into a player bridge or not? it's just a wasted opportunity if not, but please unlock the bridge so I can at least pick one from the bridges I've paid for.

Don't let it put you off as it's still a fantastic ship to fly, just dropped the ball on the interior

I agree. WHY does such a magnificent ship have such a 'renegade' like bridge. GIVE US CHOICE!

The Discovery ships we have in game need that Terran bridge, hull markings and prefix

I fully agree on that. That default bridge looks like it belongs on Harry Mudd's old banger of a freighter, but certainly not on a ship like the Styx.

The Engle (Mirror Escort Carrier) Is also unable to use the terran discovery bridge instead for some reason forced to use the walker bridge.

Ok, someone clearly took notes from my moaning 😅

A few little things are still off but it's a hundred times better than what we had before so thanks Cryptic 😃

Very glad to hear it, I may actually consider picking this ship up now. Bridges are still an important part of deciding to buy a ship for some of us. :)

So new bridges? So why does the Styx not have the dis mirror bridge? Or make all cross faction ships have faction specific bridges?

I believe the bridge unlocks with the Crossfield-class or the Mirror Engle-class but it can be used on the Styx, not 100% sure though as I have all 3 so I can't tell you what ship(s) unlocks it lol.

"Added a Terran Variant bridge option to the Styx Terran Dreadnought Cruiser [T6] and Mirror Escort Carrier [T6]."

^ That was in today's patch notes.

I'm glad it shows that the devs may not always give us everything we ask for, but at least they're listening.

I noticed that, also in the mission version of the map the consoles have the Terran emblem on them & they have the Fed one here, that's what I meant by "A few little things are still off" 😅, it's not perfect but it's a hell of a lot better than the stock ship thing we had before :)

The Mission version is also darker the one we got is pretty much the normal crossfield bridge with 2 terran symbols slapped onto it :(

To be fair... the mission version also had clear battle damage and was at Red Alert.
While some might see just slapping a couple Terran symbols on the Fed version as lazy... in most cases that really is the difference between a Fed and Imperial ship. The main difference between the USS Enterprise bridge and ISS Enterprise bridge was the big Terran symbol on the turbolift doors.

      Tilly isn't on Enterprise.
I think he meant Leeta, though I don't think we ever saw the bridge in ISS Enterprise (NCC-1701-F) in good enough detail to see the turbolift doors.

Besides Mirror Tilly is blond not a redhead.

Ok, but the post he was responding to was about the OG ISS Enterprise AFAICT as the ISS F has never really shown the bridge as you note.

Well only NCC-1701-F would have captain that would count as a redhead all other would have captains that would be brown(ish) hair (or grey hair IIRC).

We get a brief glimps of the ISS Enterprise-F bridge in the Badlands Battlezone, but not enough to really see any differences. I was actually referring to the TOS Mirror Enterprise.

Also if we're talking hot redhead captains... my Trill main isn't there. :DB):p;)

True it was simple redress of the TOS set, most TOS sets were that due to budget reasons.

I should've bold/italicized the part I was referring to. There. Someone mentioned difference between the two bridges. Yes, I meant Admiral Leeta. Because she is in command of the ISS Enterprise, right? Yeah? Maybe? And she's a redhead, right? Yeah? Maybe? Whereas Shon is in command of the USS Enterprise. And you get a brief glimpse of the ISS Enterprise in the Badlands, as @rattler2 mentioned. But, even if it was never shown, that's still a big difference between USS Enterprise and ISS Enterprise, for who is in command.
I am well aware that Mirror Tilly isn't a ginger. I'll try to fingerpaint it out better for you guys in the future. Maybe incorporate some shoe-string theory that even an ork from 40k can figure out. :)

The thing is that there's been several ships named ISS Enterprise and we not seen the bridge of the mirror Enterprise-F in good enough detail to see the turbolift doors hence the confusion, since the only Enterprises we've seen enough detail to see the terran logo in the lift doors is the NX-01 and NCC-1701. Maybe check what the person was referring to before going for the insults next time.

its beyond ridiculous that the Styx doesn't use the Terran Mirror bridge. Its just lame and makes no sense.

      Completely agree with this!

I must've been in the right cosmic zone on Friday, because I got a Styx Terran Dreadnought Cruiser after opening only a few of the lock boxes, plus after deciding to go with the Terran disruptor weapons from this same box and opening only a dozen or so, I scored both the omnidirectional disruptor beam and the vanity shield too. Perhaps my run of luck colored my impression, but I really enjoyed this ship over the weekend. I gave it to a Reman Engineer and have leveled him up from 11 to 50ish.

I do need to figure out a build for this battleship, although admittedly great builds are just not my forte? I'm open to suggestions here.
