Man am I disappointed, I just purchased 11,000 zen knowing this would be coming. the disappointment, I spent real cash for something I will pass on now. Account wide to me is each characters I have get the ships and other options. I fully understand the keys and other junk. Pull it out and keep it. We already got the Discovery Starter Pack so pull it out as well. Ships and Bridge Officers should be account wide character unlocks. Not worth 10,000 zen to me. What a shame.

Yeah, I gotta agree. This bundle is a major disappointment compared with previous anniversaries. Maybe I'd buy it if the BOffs and tardigrade were account unlocks. As it is, I think I'll just get the Gagarin and possibly the Shran. Nothing else holds any appeal.

Same. The fact the BOFFs and combat pet are not account unlock is a deal killer for me. This is contrary to every other "Operations" pack. I'm iffy on Discovery content anyway, so I don't feel I'm "missing" anything. There are 4 ships, at 3000z per ship, that's only 12kz for the lot. That's literally the entire cost. So it's not even that much of a deal. Master keys, sure, if you play that game. The rest is once-per account and not worth anything IMO.
I noticed this trend starting with the Gamma pack (possibly temporal too, it's been a while), where the EVA suit was once-per account.

Something has happened at Cryptic/PWE, and someone there is ruining it.
Show ships and items used to be C-Store.
Mirror TOS and Mirror Enterprise costumes for example, are in the C-Store. Mirror Discovery is a lockbox.
I do not, and will not ever play the lockbox game. I feel more and more items are being pulled away from me.
I do however, buy C-Store items. Looks like that's going to change too.

    (edit monster )

EV suits for both of those packs are claimable by every character on your account that is eligible, so only Fed and allied Romulans (and presumably Jems, though I didn't make one to try) could claim the Temporal one, but they were not infinitely reclaimable, which makes them like most non-ship C-Store items.

Some show ships have been in boxes for a long time, depending on what you mean by a show ship. Temporal Lock Box predates Legacy of Romulus and the Wells and Aeon were featured on Voyager. If you're referring to something in more than an episode or two, then the T6 TOS Enterprise sure fits that bill, and that was over two years ago. Mirror uniforms left the C-Store when every uniform that wasn't part of an Expansion bundle, or a straight up giveaway left the C-Store, so back around late-2012, Mirror Odyssey and Jupiter uniforms were Lobi store, for example, three years ago.

If you're looking for a trend, it started much farther back than you are stating.

Now, the special BOffs and pet in this one being single-character unlocks is new, and disappointing. I am in agreement on that.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.

so... first question will owners of existing walker's be locked out of buying this bundle?
Second, is that a typo on the pet and boff??? Once per account not character???!
third, will the combat tardigrade be faster than his non-combat counterpart? if not he'll never see combat

Seriously hope someone kicks a decision maker in the head soon, something is of in their skulls.

Also still nothing for warbirds... and getting closer to the 1yr mark since the romulans got a ship and even that was the toilet brush pack not warbirds

Titles - Account Wide (Fed titles only usable for Fed, KDF titles only usable for KDF)
You're really doubling down on this whole "Romulans get nothing" stance.

Simultaneously too expensive AND character bound! No thanks.

hmm, for some reason my post is gone, doesn't even show up as ever making it in my account. So here it is again.
    What a Disappointment
I already have the starter pack, I don't need nor do I want the keys and other items that come with it, Just the ships, uniforms and Duty Officers. In saying that they need to be account wide for each character in that account. Just a few days ago I purchased 11,000 zen with the card. When will I learn and stop wasting real money on this game.

You'll most likely push to credit card only purchases for a few weeks to a month or two anyways which makes purchasing Zen useless. Your doing the same TRIBBLE wargaming does with their ships. Why I stopped buying them and gold.
Going to have to pass on this one, what a shame.

That modern looking Magee class escort looks really nice but at the price of this pack, coupled with all those "once per account" items is a massive hell no from me i'll have to say.

That is a lot of money for only 4 ships and a handful of single character one time unlocks. Really not worth it.

Yeah, I was corrected on the EV suits earlier, I mixed that one up.

For the most part, I mean hero ships.
Excelsior, Galaxy, Intrepid, Defiant, NX-01, Constitution (even though it was T1). Yes, the T6 Constitution kind of started that trend, and it's getting worse.

Not sure what you mean by all the uniforms left the store, I can still see them, including ones I haven't purchased yet.
Quick list of what I see, all 550z: Bajoran Militia, Racing, Jupiter, TOS, and TOS Mirror, TNG uniform, Starfleet Academy, 23rd Century. All unpurchased on one account, all still visible in the C-Store.
Though, I was unaware of Mirror Oddy, but if that was lobi, then it's per char, and as such ignored by me.

Anyway, if the BOFFs and (to a lesser degree) combat pet were account unlocks, then I'd get this pack. It would be a better value.
I like to play different alts, so a single character unlock is worthless to me.
I know I'm wasting my time, but I do hope PWE (who is no doubt behind this) will reevaluate this path in the future.
The abrupt disappearance and replacement of the Elite Starter Pack was just the start (or maybe a continuation?) of this shady side.
    LTS Since Beta (Jan 2010).

This is just more of Cryptic's trend in having us pay the same or even more for less content, this Cryptic marketing tactic began last year & is continuing into this year. I wouldn't even be surprised if Cryptic is holding back 1 or 2 items in case back lash is fierce then Cryptic can release more content to white knight us. Easily a pass on this disappointing & lack of effort package. The Fed & KDF BOFFs & the combat tardigrade that are included should be account wide. Who ever made that decision is really out of touch with STO's playerbase. The 10 Master Keys is a just Cryptic trolling us since this pack has far less than other packs at the same cost. Like those keys are going to be winners anyways, besides the LoR pack had 30 keys & it offered more content as well. A pretty bad package deal compared to most of the previous.

I said it before and i'll say it again, Cryptic need to look forwards to building their own content and not backwards. it would be great if they can detach themselves from hard canon events for a bit and started building their own future, including ship designs.
    T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW.

Took me a little while to figure out why this costs so much:
1500 for DSC Starter Pack (which is included)
    3000 per T6 Ship x4 = 12000
    ~500 per BOff = 1000
    ~750 Walker Skin (1/2 cost of Proto-Walker)
    400 for a Combat Pet
    200-600 per XP Boost
2250 for Keys and Upgrade Kit (assuming the same cost as Key Bundle)

About 18,000 Zen total give or take.

Not as big a value as previous packs and that's probably why it's cheaper than the other Large packs but still a value compared to buying everything individually.

That being said, the BOffs and the pet should be per Character and not per Account. Don't think I'll go in for the whole pack, but I'll probably dish out for the Gagarin-class. Had my eye on the Shepard since I first saw it.

I agree, with the Boffs and the pet account unlock, then it's a better deal, anyway i dont get it.. if you want the Boffs after on another toon, what do you do?, buy the pack again??, you can't!, so whats the point??, i hardly complain on stuff, as i understand bussiness practices… but this??, i mean, do you know your player base?

Im not sure they can do that with CBS calling the shots on what gets released in game if it comes from the TV shows, Then you have a movies. If they go their own way then couldn't the owners of the IP's pull their stuff?

I'm interested in exactly two of the ships, the Klingon uniform and the Tactical vest. Can keep the rest. As long as I can buy all of those separately, and account wide,... I'm good.

I typically don't buy any pack over 6k anyway, no matter what's in it,...

I have to agree with my fellow captains for 12k zen there are way to many one time only unlocks for the price point. for the permenant unlocks that i receive for all my other toons and that fact i already own the walker. I'll save my zen and buy the miracle worker mega bundle or the pilot escort mega bundle. If there were other act unlocks that were with it that might be useful on my other captains it might have some interest to me as is i'm sitting on a 150k xp boost on my main that was a one time unlock that is useless to my because i bought a bundle while i was on my main to who is at max level, max rep, max specialazations what am i gonna do with a 150k xp boost that is bound to character not act.

Yeah, unless this is a new thing where this bundle gives you one and you can buy more either for Lobi or Zen, it really doesn't make sense to me. There is a boff already in-game that's a once-per-account promotional item. But I was thinking that was the exception since it was seemingly unused content that got re-bundled.

This bundle is fine I guess. Except the Boffs being once-per-account, that's weird in a bad way.

I think you may have forgotten that this is a Discovery pack, which is meant to contain stuff that has been featured in Star Trek: Discovery.

Dominion would not get anything here since they canonically do not get discovered for another 117 years.

the TOS faction would at least have something to use since the Discovery stuff isn't too far out from TOS. Remember that even though they start out differently, they are treated in game as a Federation character, which enables them to use every ship a normal Federation character can.

I was super excited after seeing the glimpses of the ships coming, but after reading all the once per account items which have no reason not to be, especially since things have been changing to account wide across the game this pack has gone from a must buy to a never buy. I'm not going to sit picking and choosing which captains I'm going to have these items on, only to have to fork out over and over again for others. Grossly disappointed.
