This is the Star Trek Online Tips and Tricks Guide for: Gateway to Gre'thor

Section 2: Closing radiation portals should be the first, last, and ONLY priority. It isn't there for people to pad their kill/ship XP counts. If you have a smaller tactical ship especially, some of the bigger ships aren't able to turn quick enough. Whoever can get there in time and close it, making sure the transports use as little health as possible. I pop heals on transports as well for myself, to help them make it along.0

Also no need to start closing a radation gateway until the lead transport is about 16 km from it, which is about the distance the transports travel while you are closing the gateway, otherwise another gateway will open about 1 sec later right infront of the transports. And since it takes a couple of secs to close it that just means the transports sit there inhaling the fumes.0
