Rubberbanding spikes since anniversary went live

Hi has anyone else like me been having intermittent rubberbanding spikes since the anniversary went live on the 23/01/2019 ?

Hello rubber banding my old friend, time to bounce around the battlezone again, where are all my bug reports going?, out of love with this game I am falling, As Cryptic fail to acknowledge a problem exists, Shakes an angry fist, And from Support all I'm hearing are the sounds of silence.

Yup. STO is, once again, overusing internet bandwidth. It already uses a stupid amount when loading maps normally. But now it's ridiculous. Normally I go up to about 700ms in every loading screen. Ever since the Anniversary, I sit at 2k during the load screen and for a few minuets after while it completely kills my internet connection until it stops. The last few days I couldn't use my good connection that lets me sit at 75-200ms. I was forced to use the faster but higher latency satellite connection because STO was sitting at 9k ms for ten minuets straight. Most won't notice this as they have decent enough internet. The instant I closed STO the issue went away.

I just did the Borg RA and was unable to move for about a minuet, then I was hit with several spikes all throughout the mission.

This game needs a revamp with how it uses the internet connection. Whatever it is doing, it's very bad and very inefficient.

I do also get spikes randomly when sitting idle. I just had several again. Right now I'm sitting at 570ms. It was enough to kill my connection, and the game gave an SNR. I also am pretty sure that the reading STO gives is not fully real-time because when the spike ended, it jumped up to 9k before dropping back to normal levels. The spike was enough to cause SWTOR to drop straight to the sever screen.

I can play SWTOR and STO at the same time on the same PC with no issues except when changing maps in STO. It's not my internet at fault. STO is overusing the internet connection. The amount of data used by SWTOR is so small that it's a non-issue for my internet. The issue is STO. It's always STO. This happens after every big update and lasts for over a month. The problems I mentioned above that I was dealing with a few days ago (before these posts), was with STO being the only thing open.

I just transferred to Vulcan (ground) and have been sitting at 8-15k ms for the last half hour. Guess it's back to the high latency satellite to actually accomplish something in STO.

This is by far the WORST lag issue STO has ever had. The beacon lag issue, that was awful. But this is a whole other level.

My guess is the Omega Particle Mini game which has caused lag/rubberbanding issues in the past is in part to blame for the current issue. Can't prove it other than its happened in the past
