Okay look, i know this is a headache for alot of the staff at STO, but as a newly Diagnosed Epileptic, ive had it with the subspace amplifiers, now, do not lock this thread, please, hear/see me out here, this is a pretty good idea, make the bank room, and any other gathering place on every single station a safe zone so no one can set off amps, grey it out! OR GO WITH MY ORIGINAL IDEA! make me a Subspace party amp Disintegrator and disruptor, or ill go to an outside party like the humble bundle who are more than willing to help people like me out...im tired of being ignored by the staff here! AND I AINT CRYIN WOLF! now, i have to return to my neurologist in a few weeks, and ive saved my recordings of past incidents with trolls AMPbushing me....(see what i did there) i dropped a hint..now...do not close this thread...this needs to be discussed, and i need to be heard

    Have you tried switching instances to get away from the "trolls" that you see are "ampbushing you?" I'm pretty sure that unless you do something to get their attention, they won't go out of their way to follow you. Have you considered that some of the players host in game(with out of game effects) radio stations and dance/costume parties at social areas such as DS9, Nimbus 3, Drozana, Risa, and Q's Winter Wonderland, including usage of the party popper? And they have the right to use it if they want? Not everyone who sets off the device, is doing so to attack you.

    The game already has enough "safe spaces" for people with a bunch of the fun effects destroyed. And you have the power to go to a different one at your choosing.
    Someone detonates the device, you can:
    1. Switch instances.
    2. Go to a ship bridge.
    3. One of your fleet holdings.
    4. A friend's fleet holdings.
    5. Go to another social zone area.

    Well there is a good reason why they made this a fct topic as these types of threads tend to lead to trolling and flaming only way it stays open is if it does not lead into that and that is all up to them. Thing is unless they change their minds they are going to remain how they are. Now there is an area they did restrict and prevent their use and that was the Spock statue on Vulcan and I'm not sure but it maybe be restricted the same way on New Romulus should test this out one day. Some folks were having parties and the player base wasn't to happy maybe about this even though they were celebrating the life of Spock and Nimoy they found it hugely disrespectful to the character and given the logical nature of vulcans I doubt he would want to be celebrated in such a fashion. Because of this they restricted the use so they could not be used near the Spock statue. But I don't think they ever will add the coding to restrict them anywhere else. Like they could restrict them so they can only be used Risa and the club area in earth space dock maybe space itself and ground queues but preventing them in most of the other social zones like Drozana and Ds9. But it would be nice if they would unrestrict the swimwear and clubwear at the same time. But like any ideas, you or I might have most likely never going to happen.

    The thing is, with these party device they added them to the game so players can have fun with them. Yes some people abuse them but its not all the time and your crusade against them might even be drawing the bullies to you. One thing I learned if the bully does not get any response that feeds them. Then they stop doing it. Means you have to stop paying any attention to them and they will eventually leave you alone. Anyways that is my two cents on the matter. My idea is they prohibit them on ds9 and drozana station. Maybe explain it as they have rules against the devices. Leave them usable anywhere else. My only issue with them is when certain types of people abuse them. But like I said above, they will more likely then not ever listen to our ideas for them. Even if it fixes the direct issues caused by these devices.

    They have a purpose and this might be why they didn't make them so widely available in their other mmo champions online. Because of the issues they had with them in sto. I know in Champions online you have to buy them with zen. Or I believe that is the case not sure now. There is another reason why, they might not be doing anything with them now. They have a few buffs granted with duty officers, From risa that gives a buff when so many players dance to the ball. Some I'm not sure what the buffs do exactly. But I know one duty officer makes those things a lot more annoying giving off this awful nose that goes along with the ball. It might even be the same one. I think because of this reason alone, the buff and what the players did to earn the duty officers that grant buffs might be one of the reasons why they won't do anything with the party balls.

    Why i can understand the issue. In fact i made a post regarding this issue as i was sick to death of hearing about it in zone chat and was asking for a toggle to turn the subspace party amps visuals off. Limiting the effects why letting any one else enjoy the devices. It was closed. Then you made one calling for a way to destroy them. It also was closed.
    Now we are at this thread and as it have been stated the party amps are here to stay and this is a FCT a fact i was not aware of on my first thread i have taken the time from that incident to read up on just what are the FCT's. In addition i also took the time to look up the TOS regarding player interactions and just what the rules were. This was to make sure any change from last time i had looked them over i would be aware of. In doing this i found this item i will list by copying it as it is in caps so will it be here i have no option over that as i will not type it all in lower case. So with out further comment on my part here it is....

    Given this i do not see any forthcoming change to the amps as it is clear that the options a person has regarding epilepsy is to "Immediately discontinue use of the service".

    There is also option settings that might reduce or get rid of the worst of the party balls light if its a epilepsy issue. So that is another solution. If you want all the options set up to normal you can do that when not in zones where players are constantly putting up party balls.
