The rubberbanding on spacedock is worse than usual, but pjem was fine. It is possible the update broke something when there are a lot of players around, or maybe there are a lot more players than usual dropping in for the phoenix event or something.

Its borderline unplayable for me. Powers not activating, lagging back, weapons not firing....
I pretty much never have lag in STO but yeah.. today it's been really bad.
I chalk it up to everyone simultaneously trying to download the 1.7GB patch.. that has to take quite a toll on the servers.
Between that, everyone running rep projects and opening Phoenix Boxes I am hoping it's something that just passes as we get further into the weekend. I just did upgrades today, I didn't even try to actually play content, too laggy.
I haven't been in game myself today yet. But I have experienced a lot of rubber-banding and lag here lately. I had hoped maintenance would have resolved it.

I've been rubberbanding for over a week in game and having no connection issues anywhere else when using the internet. I was bouncing all over the place in Dyson BZ yesterday. Game is still playable as its spikes i'm getting, but i'm also getting powers not activating in space combat and going into a 4-5 sec cooldown.
Hello rubber banding my old friend, time to bounce around the battlezone again, where are all my bug reports going?, out of love with this game I am falling, As Cryptic fail to acknowledge a problem exists, Shakes an angry fist, And from Support all I'm hearing are the sounds of silence.
I have an active ticket for this issue since the patch before this one. Crazy me, I hoped this patch would make things better not worse. My traceroute is less than 60ms all the way to the server. Here are the suggestions they have provided so far. Perhaps it could help someone. However, I do not recommend turning off your firewall or antivirus except for short testing purposes only.
I take no responsibility if you brick your machine..........
Do you have On-demand patching enabled? Please go into the launcher, select Options, then make sure said setting is not enabled. Save the settings, then try again. Please also make sure to disable any gameplay proxies, just to be safe.
Try closing any and all third-party programs that are running in the background. Those known to conflict with our titles include: RivaTuner Statistics Server, MSI Afterburner, and SteelSeries Engine 3 software.
Are you behind a firewall? You may want to try disabling Windows Firewall or any other firewall or router settings that may block access to the game or download.
Are you playing on a wireless connection? Our games require a stable connection, in order to ensure optimal quality and connectivity, so if you are on a wireless or unstable connection, that could explain the issue.
Also, try pausing/disabling your antivirus before starting/installing the game. Some users have noticed issues with BitDefender and Kaspersky blocking their logins/download.
Finally, please restart your modem and router, and see if that clears up the issue.
I've had this in only the social zones, during missions and TFO's it's been fine. For a change, it's actually the game. Did my due diligence and checked all my equipment.

Right, it's not game-breaking just immersion-breaking. The dropouts usually occur just as loading into a TFO and can log back in before I'm missed.

Yep I have the exact same problem. I stopped doing STF's a few weeks ago because the rubberbanding was so bad I was unable to target or fire at enemies. Even solo missions were hard to do. I was hoping the huge bug corrections would solve the problem but it was not the case.
I've had a ton of rubberbanding lately but what's worse are the missions that have disappeared. So far Cold Storage, which has the last piece of the Breen set, has lost it's ground map and so has Uneasy Allies which as the entire Romulan ground set.
If these missions were pulled to update them or something then they shouldn't be included in the mission chain or their rewards should have been added in a prior mission. When I tried them I got disconnected which is always fun. That's not to mention spawning in on missions solo as the away team apparently decided they rather hang out in ten forward having a beer. Mind you this is on my AOD alt and yes I have filed tickets and yes they have all been ignored.

I was wondering about this: I switched over to 32-bit a while ago, because 64-bit was acting badly on my computer....was considering moving it back to 64-bit to see if it will run smoother, now. Since, something changed.

There are mixed reports of potential causes for it. From Cogent having technical issues to people crowding the network via smartphones to check football stuff.
I've been having rubber banding and side effects like bad Discord voice quality for several days now. I have no idea what's going on, but its not a local issue if restarting my modem and purging my DNS resolver cache didn't resolve anything.
Ok, how do you make this 32/64 bit change? I don't even know which I am using.
You log-in to the launcher/patcher and click "Options" up in the upper right. Scroll down a little and there will be a checkbox you can tick to swap to the 32bit client.
Swapping to 32bit didn't help m with my rubber banding lag issues, but it might help you. Just keep in mind that it might default back to 64bit after you finish playing and exit the game.

I'm having a problem with the launcher where as soon as it loads bang ! it launches the game and closes. Don't even have time to select Tribble server or og out the launcher. Anyone got any ideas how to stop it doing this ?
Last week after Thursdays patch it stopped autologin me into the launcher I had to put me password in everytime, after this Thursdays patch I am auto logged in but unlike the past x amount of years where I had to hit engage it just loads automatically.

In your case I'd open the launcher, but not enter your password. Click options and check to make sure that "fast launch" is not enabled.

Trick is to catch it before it launches me into game. You are right the fast launch does appear to be activated. I don't have time however to disable and save the option before the game loads. Plus the launcher already has me signed in so I don't have to enter my password. So I can't even change those options before logging in
Nevermind managed to catch it by going through programme files and launching it from there thanks for the advice

Reporting back in: The switch to 64-bit....helped but has not cleared all the rubberbanding. But much LESS than it was when I was running the game under 32-bit.
I am surprised some folks reporting back switching it around to 32-bit is doing better for them. Interesting. Hmmm.
Anyhoo, I am not sure what is causing all of this.

Cryptic needs to look at this issue. We shouldn't have to turn down our PCs to get their game to not rubberband players all over the place.
Update: I had changed to 32 bit and rubber banding seemed to go away... for awhile; but its back. So not the cure-all.
