I can hardly believe that this wasn't suggested yet, but I could not find a suggestion like this anywhere on the forum, although I have to admit that I did not search all that thoroughly. If it has already been suggested several times, feel free to close/delete/whatever this thread.
Anyway.
The one-time use ships for the admiralty system keep clogging up my roster - three years after the start of the system, I have several hundred ships in the roster on all of my toons which I genuinely do not need most of the time. Having access to all Z store and most event ships gives me enough ships to perform basically everything the system throws at me without having to resort to one-time ships and all they are doing now is artificially inflating the roster.
As such, I'd appreciate an option to simply filter out all 1x ships.
If you are countering with the argument that this is a mechanism to force people to use 1x ships s.t. they get removed from the server - just give us another option of getting rid of them, like 200 dilithium ore or a couple pass tokens per ship. To be honest, I'd even take the option to just throw them away at this point, because the sheer volume of ships really slows me down every time I use the admiralty system.
At first, I saved them for a rainy day (I'm one of the players who have a house full of healing potions in almost every RPG, so that could be a personal issue). Then, I got used to my reusable ships.
Now, whenever I see the requirements for an assignment, I already have a combination of reusable ships in my head which 100% it and the 1x ships are just slowing me down. The 1x ships may be a better alternative for a small section of all assignments, but in 99% of all cases (probably more... I use maybe one or two 1x ships per month and toon, and I use the admiralty system almost daily), my reusable ships are sufficient.
It would be nice, but yeah.... one way to get rid of them would be to burn them on small/quick missions. Like, while you're playing a game session, toss them all at 15min missions that only need small ships to complete.
OK..I was just doing Admiralty on one of my characters.
I find that I will select the 1X Use ships over the actual "real" ship card that I have in the deck....because inevitably I do end up with copies of ship cards I already own. That is one way to get rid of them that is not too disruptive.
Or use them to fill missions you normally skip....just fill with 1x use ship cards...get rid of 3 at a time.
Most disruptive would be: start missions without caring about results. If you spend a cycle or two just filling assignments with 1x use ships, willy-nilly, THAT should cut your inventory out. Especially, if you have so many of those accrued.

Transferring the consumable ones, even if just between characters on an account it could be very useful for giving new characters a leg-up since they likely will not have access to many ships initially.

Unless you're stocking up huge amounts of lockbox/lobi ships, new toons will have access to all the same ships as old ones.
Making them exchange-tradeable would be something, I suppose. I'd sell mine if someone wanted to buy.
Even if you could "filter them out" so you don't see them on the main list....they are still accumulating.
What would that do, eventually, to your character's load outs and set up?? I wouldn't want to take a guess.

That being said, since every ship card seems to be a separate entry in the STO DB, that could be a long and arduous process.
Maybe it's possible to just allow the cards to stack? That would already significantly clear up my roster.

You talking about the "Ship Loadouts"???? I am talking about your characters downloading current information when you load into the game.
