Discovery inspired Connie kitbash

Fans of the disco connie might enjoy this kitbash I made using the existing connie parts we have in game:

Here are a few pics showing how the design actually looks in game:

For reference, here is an (insanely priced) model of the disco enterprise:

Nice! Wish we could stick the glowy bits on the nacelles, but nothing's prefect, right?

This may be my favorite of the DSC Connie kitbashes I've seen. Well done!

While I personally prefer the glow of the beta nacelles, this is actually the closest you can get to the disco connie:

    https://imgur.com/a/XPAKDzU

The first pic is from the game Adversaries, the second pic is official CBS art supplied to Eaglemoss, and the 2nd and 3rd pics are in game models.

Here is a gameprint view for comparison:

    https://gameprint.net/product/CwPJFtHW38zzfTFXL

Point 1: the TOS saucer is the only saucer that is the correct size in proportion to the ship. The Exeter saucer is much too big in proportion to the body of the ship.

Point 2: the Disco connie has a gold deflector, not a glowing blue deflector, meaning the Disco vanity skin doesn't work.

Point 3: the connie refit pylons are the closest match to the official pic from CBS, not the Exeter pylons.

Of course, IMHO using what you personally like best sometimes trumps accuracy :)

I wonder, what about the NX material as opposed to the NX Refit? How does that look? Or is it not possible to use that with the T6 Connie?

Still feel that the Exeter saucer fits better because of the impulse block/bridge arrangment and 'flatter' bridge dome.

I wish I could do a Discovery Connie kitbash...

Just can't afford a Temporal Connie.

I understand. For me the choice is between overall silhouette vs specific details. IMO the silhouette of the kitbash with the TOS saucer is closer in proportional size to the "Discoprise" than having an overly large saucer. But as you said, if you focus on specific details rather than overall size and proportion the Exeter saucer is more similar in certain aspects. It's like I said earlier, sometimes just liking how something looks trumps accuracy :)

Nice shot @reyan01 . But it also displays one of STOs more annoying issues: The Crossfield class has some swirly nonsensical effect on the engines (probably the Bozeman ones?) which ruins the whole shot pig-5.gif

Well there are other factors, but I won't nitpick them.

Probably just found a random Crossfield and "met" it.

I never realized how similar the Exeter neck is to the JJPrise neck.

Well, to be fair my screencap was just a bit of fun. I take serious ones quite often, but that isn't one of them.

Fact is, as close as we may be able to kitbash the Connie to get something resembling the DSC version, we can't get an exact match.

I wasn't criticizing the screenshot itself at all. I was just riffing on STOs unnecessary effect fireworks even going of when nothing happens 😁

Apologies @angrytarg - I didn't mean to imply that you were.

But yeah, if they ever give us a screen-acurate DSC skin Connie I'll do a proper screenshot. I rather enjoy doing STO screenshots which approximate what we saw on-screen:
