Is it done to encourage queuing (outside of weekend events) in things other than those alerts to get rep up to t6?
Or alternatively to make the alerts more appealing as an event which does not always present? Or to make people more in par with t5 rep before the event?

Edit: this ends before AoD "hits" so striked out some text as being irrelevant and added some more.

Patch notes translated... Let's see if these lazy players will do something else when RAs are gone.

They better hope that 'something' isn't some other game. :D
Cryptic is continuing to turn STO into an 'event only' game.
No one's gonna show up unless an event is going on & once people complete an event they leave.
    SO GJ!

And back to WoW and continue to play though the story-line quests. Cause they give you more than 6-7 new missions to do in a 'Season'. :smirk: So see y'all 10/9 for Discovery when that content will take a day to do in total.

My question is ... What was the 3.6Gb "patch" that the STO Launcher downloaded last night/yesterday when I logged out of the game? A "stealth or ninja patch perhaps?

The new release "pre-patch". They do this prior to expansions and "release dumps".

We had two Phoenix Box events but no usual upgrade weekend which usually happens a month or so after the phoenix box event..What Gives?!
RA being a weekend only thing might make the ques pop a little more, I HOPE..PS: was waiting to see the Nakhul RA back, was one of the first RA I played when I returned in 2015 after a 4 year awol break..

Fix the que system on console.

Considering a smaller development team released a patch one week after breaking something.

    Whata your excuses

One of the best things about RAs was that they did not take long to pop after queuing for it. I strongly suspect that the same will not be true of the other ques with everyone spread over the entire list instead of concentrated in only four or five scenarios, and that will cause a lot of false starts as people cancel after waiting a while or que up multiple scenarios and take the first one to pop. Also, that multi-check queuing is probably as random as a lot of people will want to get instead of that random scenario thing.

The reputation system is going to take a serious hit as people get frustrated trying to get enough of the proper marks to actually do anything much with it.

The new tier of rep is very much a meh I'll wait and see what makes it into the game as nothing much jumped out as being a must grind for item. Even a long overdue plasma omni, I've waited this long already so no point rushing now given the trickle of actual content to use it in.

The no cooldown on RA's will probably mean that specific ones will get ignored (or simply be less popular) because of time/reward reasons.

I assume they're banking on Random gTFOs filling in those queues. Though given that the player base here seems to hate ground and there's no possibility of separate queuing that system might not see a lot of use.
Big question then is, what will be the next move to force, I mean persuade, the players to use the random system/fill in the dead queues?
Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end of it.

I like that "gTFO"....I can remember that. LOL!

I think what they are trying to do is: give extra rewards to people who are going to be "PUGGING" it (get the heck out of those caves they put themselves in) AND start getting players to work on their GROUND builds.

Cryptic spend a lot of time and resources to make this game both ground and space. Only to have half their work ignored?

I don't think the Devs intended players to focus all their traits/specializations/gear on space. They want players to self balance things by splitting it up.

I wonder if they are going to make special version of "Away Team Traits" to match up with "Star Ship Traits".

@ilithyn I like your idea of having an "official" looking for group channel....but Cryptic has never taken any steps to involve themselves in player's channels. They have always let the players create what they want.

So patch notes again with no actual bug fixes. If nothing other than resetting the servers you could have just saved this downtime for Tuesday the 9th as it doesn't add nor fix anything with the game.

Hello rubber banding my old friend, time to bounce around the battlezone again, where are all my bug reports going?, out of love with this game I am falling, As Cryptic fail to acknowledge a problem exists, Shakes an angry fist, And from Support all I'm hearing are the sounds of silence.

    Prepatch for AoD
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

They are saving the bug fixes to go live with the patch on the 9th. Most likely.

I saw they fixed the Qo'nos autopilot thing on Tribble. I hope that is coming. LOL!

I was hoping to get more considering the RA changes were announced only a day in advance. Ah, well.

All I am going to say to Cryptic is the tighter you close your hand around the players, the more you are going to lose them.
