A complaint

What the title basically says...a simple complaint about todays server down time. "We will be performing shard maintenance on September 26 from 5 AM-2:30 PM Pacific (12:00-21:30 UTC). Please check the forums." so 21:30 UTC for me is 0:30 am. I usually come home from work around 21:00 some time to eat and relax and i usually do my dailies between 22:00 to 1:00 if i manage to stay awake.
I am fully aware that cryptic didnt choose this time just to inconvenience me. I hope this is understood, im not bitching, im just making my discomfort known for the betterment of the game and its community. My problem is that i need both today and tomorrow in order to complete the "breach" event that we are currently running. I fear i will lose it though cause i cant stay awake that late. Its ok...its just a game, no bad feelings. It just never hurts to present your point of view in the hopes of even better service in the future , thats all.
Id really appreciate it if cryptic took in consideration the fact that some ppl will probably need even the last day of the event to complete it for real life reasons and so running server maintenance or implementing new updates or upgrades on the game while an event is still running will probably make it impossible for those ppl to complete the event. If the down time was more like the usual it wouldnt be a problem but this time it completely and utterly destroyed me. It happened ... ok its just a game, it wont kill me. I would be nice if i could complete it though. Next time please dont do big things in the servers until an event is over. Thanks!

    Due to the other long maint, they've added a couple of days to the Event, perhaps they will do so for this one too.
    Now a LTS and loving it.
    Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
    I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

    actually i just read that the event will be extended to the 29th. Good im very satisfied that cryptic thought about it! Thanks cryptic!

    I thought so. I got all my Breach flights done last week, but I know some people like you who can't always fly.

    Good luck on finishing up.

    i didnt call you any names altran, im not a native resident in these forums so i had no idea about what else cryptic posted until a friend saw this and called to let me know. But i agree this post should be deleted.

    Cryptic always gives extra time to complete events because of normal maintenance, and also so players can have the chance to complete the events with plenty of time spare. In this period of maintenance, which is down to Hardware upgrades beyond their control, they have added 2 extra days.

    Saying that, it's not for Cryptic to plan around your free time, but the other way around. This is not meant to critisise, but to highlight that Cryptic in giving more time than is needed, on top of extra time to account for normal maintenance in every circumstance, has already done what you ask.

    The post above mine was completely uncalled-for. If you don't know something or have a complaint, then you post them. It matters not what anyone else might think. You had a gripe, the gripe was answered. There was no need for that other person to be a troll.

    The event has been extended. Also, as long as you have the project slotted, it can be finished during the next run of the event. Before things get out of hand... /Thread
