The starship trait boxes from the account wide starship trait reclaim of the dilithium store will grant a copy of the trait without checking whether the trait is already owned. A Romulan can obtain two copies of the same trait by first leveling the relevant ship (old Federation or Klingon exclusives) to tier 5 and then claiming a second copy of the trait from the dilithium store.
Both copies can be slotted at the same time and their effects are cumulative. For example, 2 copies of Radiant Nanite Cloud provide double the healing.
