    I knew it, they gave the ship a typical cruiser layout and it's too similar to the carrier but with the specialized seating being lieutenant commander instead of just lieutenant. I am pretty much disappointed with it and still think they should've made it a science ship instead. But now I fear they might continue with the Vorgon ships like with the Breen ships and not do any T6 variants of the Risian ships.

    I knew it, they gave the ship a typical cruiser layout and it's too similar to the carrier but with the specialized seating being lieutenant commander instead of just lieutenant and one hangar bay instead of two, and 8 weapons instead of 6.

    I am pretty much disappointed with it and still think they should've made it a science ship instead. But now I fear they might continue with the Vorgon ships like with the Breen ships and not do any T6 variants of the Risian ships, yes I know they've now done all three but that doesn't mean they can't dream up new homebaked designs.

    To me they managed to make each new Vorgon ship less interesting than the previous one.

    Something I noticed about these Vorgon ships. Last year, the carrier looked more than a little like a surfboard (complete with a fin underneath). This year the Dreadnought looks like a trident, or perhaps a French Fleur de Lis symbol. Pretty sure the ship designer did his on purpose. Water-themed ships for Risa.

    A few more things to say.

    First, I don't see why ANY outfit is restricted. Just take a look at the Orions running around in their "uniform" bikinis, and Orion and Cardassian men get to go completely topless, yet anyone else who wants to do the exact same thing is sequestered off to Risa. Totally unfair treatment, in my opinion. If they don't want me facing off with T'Ket half-naked in my underwear, they should make that a rule for ALL players. Or we'll just end up with a steadily increasing number of pink-skinned Orion women

    Second, I like the idea of the Vorgon cruiser having more slots aft than fore, basically begging us to turn it into a mine-layer ship, one has to wonder what the point of that decision even was if we don't have a Commander Tactical seat to use the strongest dispersal patterns.

    Without some method of access to the stronger weapon enhancements, the cruiser is just going to turn into a broadside beam ship. There's not enough forward space for the stronger Dual Beams/Cannons, which would naturally gimp any such build, and the only level 3 abilities it will have access to are beam enhancements (and torpedos, but the only way to make it effective would be to flip the omni-beams and torps on a normal ship, but then you're just left with a pitifully slow ship that can't use abilities that require forward targeting.)

    Mines need a lot more than a shared cooldown reduction to make this ship even considerable as a choice, and weapon abilities in general could use a bit of a touch-up.

    Hear, hear. Do away with the stupid restrictions let us combine everything freely.

    The restrictions aren't even consistent. Somethings are restricted others aren't with no reason why. Even stuff like the board shorts and shirts that are entirely normal clothes with a colorful texture, get all restricted just because they're from Risa. We'll have to see what fate the baseball stuff gets this year.

    Well, and as I mentioned in the "Outfit Categories" thread, one can already do all sorts of wacky stuff with what is available in ESD, so the "but but but - it will go against that Staid Starfleet Atmosphere™!" and "people will go nuts with outfits!" arguments are kind of silly.

    Things my characters can/have worn in ESD -
    • Halter swimsuit top, Terran shorts (both in bright green), bare feet
    • Shiny black latex miniskirt, purple satin strapless corset (formal outfit top)
    • 7of9 catsuit in bright colors, overlaid with the Herald Thrall monokini/torso strap
    • Romulan 23rd century metallic microskirt, Exo III strap top
    • Ugly purple Christmas sweater, purple miniskirt, dark purple tights (not revealing at all, but certainly 'wacky')
    • oh yeah, my FedRom's "Rave" outfit - metallic Rom microskirt, one of the Rom civvie shirts, sparkly tights, high heels, all in bright colors; plus one of the funny tech visors & pale blue/pink streaked hair


    So, yeah. How exactly would releasing the rest of the outfit parts really make much of a difference? People would mess around with their new freedom for a couple weeks, then go back to wearing all sorts of Whatever.


    (why yes, I do have lots of outfit slots unlocked, and make all sorts of outfits for my alts. Many of them even uniforms or mission gear. o:) )


    edit: that said, I do wonder if some of the their-own-category outfits (like the Iconian mirrored catsuit) are separate because they just don't play well with other parts. Of course, they did manage to get the glowing-circuitry Herald Thrall bits into the regular rotation, so.... /shrug

    Given the amount of god awful clipping that happens with all the current outfits already. The "This outfit and that outfit don't get along." is already an annoying part of the tailor.

    Seriously, right now, trying to build an outfit is, the search for the pieces that don't clip. Or the search for pieces that don't clip to badly.

    Also, on parts like the halter bikini top, or the terran shorts. Pay close attention to the neck, arms, and legs. If you do, you'll see the hem lines from the shirt and pants they used to make them.

    Well... they still can. "How?" you ask. Well... seeing as the Ytijara is the workhorse of the Vorgon fleet, it is not inconceivable that they would have tactical- and science-leaning versions (see also, the new Andorian escorts). Such variants, I imagine, would have obvious difference in boff and console layouts, thusly:

    • tac!Ytijara - Lt. Eng./Cmdr. Tac./Lt. Cmdr. Sci./Ensign Uni./Lt. Cmdr. Uni./TO ~ 3 Eng., 5 Tac., 3 Sci.
    • sci!Ytijara - Lt. Tac./Cmdr. Sci./Lt. Cmdr. Sci/Ensign Uni./Lt. Cmdr. Uni./TO ~ 3 Eng., 5 Sci., 3 Tac.

    They would, I imagine, still share the console, trait, and mastery package. If such variants exist in future, it would be logical to make them available to anyone who has unlocked the current variant.

    While not new 'homebaked designs', an Echentis hull for the Xyfius, and Xyfius hangars for the Ytijara and Ryn'kodan would not be unwelcome.

    All I wanted from the new ship was for it to be a Miracle Worker non-Vorgon design. Since neither of those things happened, I'm finding it hard to be interested in it. I've already gone on about its total lack of capability as a minelayer, and it really just feels like it tried to be unique without actually doing anything effectively different.

    And yes, I really hope we never see another Vorgon or Breen ship for as long as I live.

    So somehow without flying the ship for so much as a second you can determine its exact capability? Ok then, what are the next Powerball numbers? Cause if you can do the first then the second should be childs play.

    Don't worry about any more Breen Ships for the Winter. This year we will be getting the Fesarius. It looks like a gigantic snowball and will put those 26th Century Ships to shame. ;)

    Some things clip, yes. Locking out clothes doesn't stop that, unless they're going to lock all clothes so it's only preapproved combinations. Which would suck.

    The possible combinations increase exponentially with the number of choices, so it's impossible for devs to screen all of them for what doesn't "get along." Better just leave it to the players, who can decide for themselves if something doesn't look good together.

Otherwise, those weapons function exactly like every other weapon in the game. You can't tell me you would have to actually see it in game to believe that it would be so horribly broken and unfair, as it so obviously is.

    How about you actually try to counter my original argument, rather than asking me for a lesson in elementary school education?

    Will consoles be able to acquire the Vorgon Carrier from last year's PC summer event? Consoles were a year behind on that last year and we got the Vorgon Escort instead.

    The daily "Flying High" quest gives you 40. You need to do it 25 days, out of the 40 the event runs. It's relatively trivial.

    "Flying High" is a short obstacle course (set of 3) you do while using a floater....only available during the Summer Event on Risa, the only place players can use a floater.

    And i have bout the floater! Three different times, but nothing change when i equipe the floater! (except that i now can fly!)

    is this correct that the new Dreadnought will have 5 aft (rear) and 3 fore (front) weapons? so it has more firepower behind it than in front?

    This should actually be the last Vorgon ship in the iteration. as far as wanting a MW, I can point you toward the Maquis Raider.

    The funny thing is you think you proved anything at all. Math on the ship only takes you so far, it doesn't account for all possible combinations of gear, skill tree builds, spec trees, traits, rep passives, Boff skills, Active Doffs, etc etc etc. There are literally billions of possible combinations and there is no possible way you ran the math on all of them, unless you got a supercomputer up your sleeve.

    This also doesn't address the more important concern of, are the ballcaps wearable anywhere? And can we wear them without having to wear the baseball outfit itself?

    Ships are all well and good, and I'll see what kind of fun I can have with it. But, the ball caps are far more important than that.
