I'm surprised that this many people like the Aelahl. Everything about that ship screams "meh." 4/4 weapons, average turn rate, boring cruiser boff layout, boring console layout. Garbage visual. Plus the spec seating is on a lieutenant station.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

Everyone has their preferences. I happen to like cruisers. I've never much liked little raider-types. For a tac I'd use a destroyer over an escort.
My Romsci flew the 'free' Ha'nom Guardian Warbird for a long time and I liked it. Yes, it turned slowly, but that was compensated for like always. With RCS consoles. Give me a space whale over a buzzbird any day of the week.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything.
Science Pilot Escort is my current favorite. Love the 5/2 set up with the pilot abilities to keep foes in that forward arc. Also, that variant has 5 tac consoles and access to Grav Well, good times. For an older ship, I really liked the fleet Ar'Kif. Fun ship with quad cannons and some fighters to watch get caught in warp core breaches......

When it first came out I had a romulan engineer that used it quite well. It's a really solid ship that gives a nice mid point between a big D'd and a more agile ship.
It's not a popular choice, but I'll throw a vote in for the Thrai. I think it's an imaginative design (like an old TOS teardrop evolving into a D'deridex), and I prefer the TOS asthetic.
Is it too late to say that I also LOVE the Dyson Science Destroyer Warbirds as well? I know they don't get alot of love, but Really enjoy the uniqueness of their design and the way they handle.
I am curious, do the ring drive ships turn slower in sector space? In canon the annular drive arrangement is rare because while it is slightly faster than nacelles for straight-line flight it is less maneuverable. I do like the look of them though

AFAIK, the only things that affect turn rate in sector space are QSS and the modifiers for increasing QSS turn rate. Also, unlike the D'Kyr, this ship doesn't actually use the ring as the warp drive.
Faeht intel warbird, best looking romulan ship ever.
"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."
Here's my personal warbird ranking:
1st Morrigu: it's got both the looks (that whole family line is sexy) and the punch
2nd Faeht: really like it's design and GW1+OSS3+CSV3 is fun
3rd Dinaes: again nicely designed (unlike it's counterparts) and packs a punch
4th Shamshir: not exactly a beauty (like all scimies) but it can hit hard while being versitile
Honorary mention for owning but never using it: Aelahl
I really like it's design but it's stats are horrendously "meh", it's like a worse Guardian.

Yes, quite pretty.

I‘s a mega powerhouse and has a quite versatile boff layout.
