Crossfield, it's a great change of pace while still offering solid sci performance. The unique abilities are also fun.
Now, now Duncan you should know that nothing associated with ST:Discovery cannot stated to be anything but utter **** that no one in their right mind would like, or the nerds get upset. (yes I'm being sarcastic but only little).

Personally for me it's sci temporal dreadnaught (or what ever was its name) that came temporal pack, though I'll admit I've not had chance to test the Crossfield.

That's the Chronos class. It's amazing all done up with Romulan gear and weapons and pets.
Isn't the Chronos-class the engineering version, I think what I meant is the Eternal-class the sci ship or the ship timeships from the pack.

EDIT:Yeah the ship I was talking about was the Eternal-class (or Temporal Multi-Mission Science Vessel (T6) to give in-game name).

Palatine class with Vesta costume & Chroniton Integrated Quantum Slipstream. I love [sector] SPEED aka Transwarp 93.21 v*^_^*v

I don't have the Palatine yet, but it's on my to-get list. What are you equipping to get your ship to that speed? Or does it naturally go that fast?

Hehe... new Epic Gamma Reputation Warpcore (MK XV) + Epic Adapted MACO Engine (MK XV) + DI + RP + Lead Foot + Vesta Chroniton Integrated Quantum Slipstream + Crit on Assignment: Perform Antimatter Containment Leak Drills. It's the current max on Tribble and going to be the new max on Holodoeck, too if they don't change the Gamma Warpcore until the release.

I don't use any of the T6 Vesta consoles or traits, but 2 consoles from the T5 set (Multidimensional Wave-Function Analysis Module & Sympathetic Fermion Transceiver) to get the Chroniton Integrated Quantum Slipstream. I have both the T5 & T6 ship sets nonetheless because I like to have max choice in the tailor and because I really love the Vesta in general.

T6 vestas are amazing and the three piece console set is well worth getting. Its an absolute powerhouse.

Fleet Nautilus is amazing and no need to manage pets as no hangar.

31st century sci ship with 3 piece console set is amazing.

Honourable mention to the mini annorax krenim ship from an event a while ago...very capable and free ship.

It's not a mini-Annorax, it's its own ship, however it was not canon and they didn't add the canon Krenim Patrol Ship to this game.

I rather liked the T5 Vestas back in the day, and I enjoy the T6 now.

I also have a soft spot for the Wells craft, as well as the Eternal. There's also this one from the lobi store who's name escapes me that I rather liked. Really big ship. Paradox I think it was called? I'm also fond of the Nautilus/Daedalus in it's 23rd Century clothing.

The Eternal is the best IMO and in many people's opinions.

In terms of looks, I love the Naj'Sov. Probably one of my favorite and more unique Cryptic designs.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

    Goes without saying really:

In terms of the STO ship, it's an old, terrible quality, model and very inaccurate.
And in terms of performance - overlooking the fact that it's been left forgotten at T5 - pretty much any endgame T6 science ship is superior.

But I don't care. Before STO was even a glint in someone's eye, have been a Nova class fan since 'Equinox', and the Rhode Island ('Endgame') cemented it as my all-time favourite.

I really have to find a way to get screenshots I'm happy with for this class. Just can't seem to pull it off with the same ease I've found for the Intrepid class. I'm gonna keep trying however...

...and I would love some roleplaying interlink between my Star Trek Adventures ship and my Star Trek Online ship.

I really enjoyed the Luna class myself. One of the T5 Vestas had a similar console layout too, which made her an easier transition than the Wells at the time.

Depends on the torpedos you're looking at I think. Different torps rely on different stats. For example the Gravimetric Photon would probably benefit more from Control, while the Particle Emission Plasma would probably benefit more from EPG.

    Aesthetically, T6 Vesta

    Performance, Paradox is awesome.

I have SCI Captains for all the factions, so I end up using quite a bit of different ones. My Feds are spoiled by the selection.

    Best performance - Na'kuhl Daemosh.
That battlecloak is excellent fun and helps with a lot of sneaky science trickery!

Best looking - Patherfinder. Actually looks sciencey with all those nice deflector bits and greebles.

Oddly enough my favorite so far has been the Naj'sov.

I wanted to add, coming in a painfully close second would be the Crossfield. As a tactically-oriented Science ship, it clicked for me in a way the Vestas never did, and that console + Black Alert power are stupid fun, albeit not exactly powerful.

for the science abilities, what are the accepible numbers for Control drain and EPG fora typical sci torpedo build

That depends on the abilities you're using, but for a typical EPG-oriented build that relies on Gravity Well, you'd want at least 250 EPG and 100 CtrlX. But the more you have, the better the build is - pushing EPG to 400+ would be a very good idea. Drain helps too, but is more important on Drain-oriented builds. However, it's not a bad idea to have it at least 100 as well, should you want to include Tachyon Beam, Tyken's Rift or other ability that scales off drain.

Obviously, there are exceptions, but rule of thumb (especially for less-experienced players) is to choose torpedoes to match your sci-build, not vice versa. And while Grav benefits from Control, too, it's performance relies heavily on your EPG.

And on topic - in case my signature doesn't give it away, I adore my kitbashed Brigid (T6 Vesta, sci-heavy variant).

And yes, to the Chronos being an engineer variant. It's also a dreadnought. I have one on one of my scis and she tears things up with it. I also have it on an engi and he does some good stuff with it, hasn't gotten the mastery yet with it, but I expect him to tear stuff up when he does, as it already tears things up even without the mastery gotten.
Now a LTS and loving it.

Indeed. While there are numerous capable science vessels and science dreadnoughts my personal favorite remains the nebula
    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Advanced_Research_Vessel_(T6)

Second place is shared by the Nova, Scryer and Eternal. Each have some unique aspects why i love them.

This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

While technically not called a dreadnaught the Eternal is close enough to one (a big cruiser style science ship with a hangar bay) that I fly it essentially like a dreadnaught (granted a dreadnaught with cmd science seat and no cruiser commands but close enough).

The Naj'sov has become one of my favorites, too. I didn't like it much aesthetically at first, because it looks like the Klingons took a Vor'cha and stuck a Bruce Campbell chin on the front. But as I kept using it I realized that it's perfectly Klingon. If they decided they needed a dedicated science ship of their own, they would just take an existing platform and modify it to meet their new needs.

In terms of performance, I'd say my favorite sci ship is the T6 Vesta. Aesthetically, I'm a Nova fan first and foremost. I would be all over a T6 version if they released one. And I have a soft spot for the Luna class, it was the first T5 ship I ever flew (back when that was the highest tier).
