Cardassian Yukuwa Frigates

in Star Trek Online General Discussion
not sure cryptic aware its hangar pets fly as if broadsiding. but at least will save me some dil and fleet credits. the standard ones clearly far superior then adv or elite pets. nice pets though, should be fun and get best version free with ship.

    Is what you're trying to say something like this?

    "On the Tribble test build of ViL, the Advanced and Elite pets do not keep their dual beam banks aimed at the target, and so their DPS is lower than the free pets"

    If yes, did you verify this using a combat log parser?

    If yes, did you report this as a bug?

    ... and if yes, yes, and yes then thanks for the warning not to pay for Advanced or Elite versions until the bug is fixed. With pets that time might never come.

    not on tribble just going off the stats cryptic released. from past experience dealing with pets the dual beam and dual cannons parse less then beam arrays by alot.

    pets fly as broadsiders. only time they are facing enemies is when going towards them once certain range they go into broadsiding mode.cryptic has tried fixing this issue seems by giving newer pets lock trajectory but ai doesn't know how to use it. they will use it outside weapon range

    This is my fear too, although dual beam banks do have wider arc then dual cannons so it should be as bad as dual cannons, plus the Elite Yukuwa fighters do have a 360 Omnibeam in the back to help make up for any issues with the dual beam banks in the front.

    The Photon Torpedoes might help keep the Dual Beam Banks on target maybe.

    Still I don't think I'll be in a rush to get the elite version. Plus I hope they make the AI smart enough to only unleash the Subnuc when within 5km of an enemy.

    Hideki Yukawa was a Japanese scientist who the Cardassian Hideki was named after. So it makes sense that the Intel version of the Hideki is named Yukuwa which is only one letter off fron Yukawa. Clever.

    Cryptic should be very aware of how bad hangar pets are with how many times they've attempted to fix them and either broken something else or simply made them worse.

    Yeah given the new pets perhaps they are making another attempt at fixing the AI.

    Seeing as half ships from this exp have pets built into them I hope they can make it work.

    how did you get access to the dominion ships? I have failled to figure it out

    best fix cryptic could do is make it so escort mode hangar command power caused pets to fly in formation behind your ship and not take off to chase down enemies.

    since cryptic doesn't have time to update phoenix pack doubt they have time to fix hangar pet ai

    not speculation or misleading. I never said Yukuwa Frigates behaved that way. I said its pets, referring to all current pets. unless cryptic changes ai it will remain true and no reason to believe cryptic gonna fix pet ai any time soon. I doubt cryptic has touched ai behavior since launch.

    that's why I also suggested later comment cryptic fix escort mode to fly in formation behind ship. pretty easy fix since they already do that outside combat.

    Guys if you have information about bugs please create a bug report in the bug reporting thread for the appropriate forum. Otherwise this seems to be nothing bug a shot at cryptic itself and we're not going to go down that road. speculation and civil discussion is fine, flaming is not. /closed
