I don't really understand. Did the Vanguard Warship get its model drastically changed overnight or is it yet another unrevealed ship? Because the current Warship model is present in the blog "banner" (and on Tribble) along with this supposedly new model.

I hope it's a new ship because the Warship model was my favorite of the lot.

They displayed the Jem’Hadar Vanguard Gunboats model in place of the Vanguard Warship. It's fixed now.

Whither the nimble science ships of yore?

Is it just me, or the new ships stats look somewhat op?
    Permament 2 raider escort,
powerfull support and attack platform consoles (and that decoy trait - really nice - for the ones using the ships)
    Edit:
The whole pack just moved from "must have" to "can't live play STO without it" for me. B)

    So I see.
    Cool, for both ship types!

Also, a little bit of info for everyone who may have missed it and didn't try the Tribble build: the interior of the ships is of the Dominion type as before, but it got greatly revamped, both graphically and with new rooms and corridors. You even get a Jem'Hadar fighter as a shuttle.

I wonder if the 3-piece Cardassian set has an additional bonus.
Having a T6 console set from a C-Store ship that can be placed on any ship is rare (has it even existed before?), and I don't mean the individual consoles like from free event ships.

It sounds like that wingman feature is a built-in ship feature (like command powers). Given that, I shouldn't expect a console or something to unlock those for all ships in the future, right? (I know, stupid question, but I really like this mechanic.)

Will the gunboats be player pilot-able? I'd love to have a small craft one of those.
    LTS Since Beta (Jan 2010).

With those details, i have pre-ordered the starter pack. the starter jem'hadar ship is very similar to the excelsior, so that's great.
    T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW.
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

    https://sto.gamepedia.com/Hideki_Class

They didn't show a pic of the Yawuka Frigates, but did say they were basically upgraded Hideki Class frigates, so I figure they look like Hideki, but beautified.

Interesting stats. Just out of curiousity, do Dual Beam banks of Hangar pets have as hard a time finding their targets as Cannon pets?

And I honestly thought all beam arrays on pets were 360, but this shows I was wrong.

Btw where does the Evasive Burst I, II, and come from.

Can any of these ships use old models as well?

These are all entirely-new starships, that don't share customization with any existing ships in terms of physical pieces. They do, however, share some material and window options with existing ships.

There are additional Set Bonuses for each of these sets of ship consoles: Jem'Hadar Vanguard, and Cardassian Intel. I will look into those details being added to this blog at some point.

This is more-or-less accurate, except that we could potentially make a Vanguard Command ship at some point in the future, which would have both of these sets of innate powers. This feature shares a design space with Romulan Singularity, but we specifically wanted to avoid making players have to itemize for it (unlike they do with Singularity Cores).

Not upon release of ViL, but perhaps at some point in the future. They look wicked!

They were revealed on our Ten Forward Livestream. They are essentially Hideki Frigates in physical form, but are using the Cardassian-Intel material. (So, yeah, "beautified" is fairly spot-on.)

    It's just a shorter-duration, shorter-cooldown version of Evasive Maneuvers.

I definitely approve. A very lovely design! And you have my vote for making it playable.

My Aeon is cool and has had quite a run, but the temporal consoles are no longer time-ship-exclusive and it's so tiny most weapon FX are bigger than it, so it has lost some of its appeal, poor thing.

So, just to confirm, all the Cardassian ships cannot equip dual cannons? Not necessarily a bad thing, but would still like confirmation that they are a beam-boat (as all Cardassians are meant to be) and not cannon heavy.

Also does this mean they too come with Spiral Disruptors already equipped?! :dizzy:

Thanks and looks like you have swayed another buyer!

Also, a little bit of info for everyone who may have missed it and didn't try the Tribble build: the interior of the ships is of the Dominion type as before, but it got greatly revamped, both graphically and with new rooms and corridors. You even get a Jem'Hadar fighter as a shuttle.

Seems it only applies to Vanguard ships (my old T5 JH HEC has the old "only the bridge" interior).

Yes. Only one Bridge / Interior layout available (Jem Hadar). Type 1 through 6 plus Upgrade materials available.

I really can't find much to be disappointed about on any of these stats. Very much looking forward to it!

Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference.

I think that the choice of specializations is odd. I think the carrier should have command, the dreadnought cruiser should have miracle worker, and the warship should have intel.

That would be typical, sure, but changing things up gives us a chance to try and come up with better uses for those abilities. Thinking outside the box allows for experimentation.

    Thanks for the reply!

Just to clarify, those Cardassian intel consoles are actually place-able on *all* ships, not just cardassian? I just want to make sure it's not a typo.

That's correct, it was asked and answered in the latest live stream. Vanguard consoles are only usable on vanguard ships, Cardie consoles usable on any ship.

Easy no purchase for me then, I like the new materials but absolutely hate the models.

Yeah I wouldn't say OP, but yeah these are all powerful ships, and yet some say they are underwhelming and underpowered. Its like WTF.

Here is a quick snap shot of my thoughts on the ships.

JV Carrier, the King of Frigates, its Trait is going to be popular with fans of other Carriers, especially the Jupiter, whose own trait works well with this ship as it has both good science and descent intel slots.

The JV Dreadnought Cruiser is a worthy of the title of Flagship along side the Odyssey, Bort, Scimitar. I want to know if its trait applies to pets.

JV Warship, its like they split the Bugship in two with each half being more extreme in one direction then the other. The Warship is a tankier Destroyer instead of an escort, but at the cost of turn rate.

JV Heavy Raider, not the fastest Raider or most manvuerable, but tankier then most and the only Raider to have other raiders flying in formation with it. No cloak either. Its less tanky then the bugship, but is more manvuerable and flexible boff layout. Its trait is pure gold for Pilot ships, if you have the skills to keep in the rear arc, I don't.

The Damar is a worthy Flagship for the Cardassian people. The Damar class is like a Scryer and Annorax had a Cardassian baby. Its got the shields, cloak, gather intel, and Intel Commander Boff slot of the Scryer, but the turn rate, 4/3 weapons, hangar bay, and almost the hull of the Annorax.

The Ghemor is more like the Blackguard then I'd like, but at least its Intel instead of Command Seating. I really interested in the Torpedo Platform.

The Depata Intel Escort makes me think of KDF Raptor. Tankier Cardassian version of the Phantom Intel Escort. The trait feels very Cardassian, Preparedness.

I know the starter bugship is different from the normal one, is it a a Jem'hadar Vanguard Attack Ship even though it is T5U?

IIRC from the livestream, the DN cruiser's trait does work with the wingmen and attack craft (wingmen are the same type of unit as separated saucers), but Bort wasn't sure if it worked with hangar pets.
