We will be having a maintenance tomorrow, 5/17 at 7AM Pacific for 2.5 hours. (What time is this for me?)

    To head off the inevitable: The Landing Page fix didn't make it in this week, but we're working hard on it and I'll let you know when there's an update. :)

    I would HIGHLY suggest you add that as a Known issue in the notes.... It won't help with everyone but it will help with some.

    Well.. Game is full of Bugs and you got just 1 Fix ??

    Sorry but this annoyance of an addition should have been top priority.

    Well sir (I know its not your fault but its always the messenger that gets shot) its been a week and I did say i'd give you a week to fix it and the team failed, so that's me taking a hiatus from the game until its sorted. I'm not prepared to have this intrusive bugged and unless piece of software pop up at me 56 times a day as I refine dilithium and reset admiralty for another week. I just pray that a disable feature is added as well.

    And what about the other graphics issue that a lot of people are experiencing? (graphics being blurry and looking like they're on low)

    Square 'blank' graphic overlays on ships has been going on a while now.

    Would be nice to just remove the menu until some good hard work can be done so it only pops up once on an account (or preferably, never).

    Dual means two, duel means to fight. Still appreciating patch notes being written, I just hope the attention to detail is a little better when actually coding.

    Have to agree with azrael. Pointless demand was pointless. Throwing a fit isn't going to fix the bug faster, and neither is making a public announcement of taking a hiatus in protest. It'll get fixed when it gets fixed.

    Its about as helpful and constructive as the classic "My Wallet is closed until X happens" ultimatums.

    No rush boss. The acclimatization process is already working. I hardly notice it anymore at this point myself and just hit the ESC key to get rid of it. Soon people will just tune it out and it'll be accepted as a normal part of the game. Psychology at work :wink:

    I do hope that the fix for the dueling Nvidia cards also helps with the random CTD's and texture issues some are experiencing with single cards though.

    At least there was some forward thinking & the Landing Page's condition was mentioned. A smidge of credit for that.

    Very true, perhaps that would be too much acknowledgement though on their Landing Page blundering.

    This is a brilliant question & Cryptic should consider it. Whoever's thought-TRIBBLE this Landing Page was, probably some bigwig that has more ego than brains, just cease its operation till its fixed. Unless Cryptic tied-in some crucial STO function with this Landing Page so the game won't run without it to which I'd comment, "bravo".

    I'm still trying to figure out what added value this Landing Page has added to STO

    Must admit, the blobby-face textures problem bothers me a lot more than the landing page (about which I don't much care, one way or the other.)

    Don't just look at the quantity of the bug fixes, but also how serious they are. Bugs that cause crashes should be addressed first because they make the game unplayable for those who experience them. It is in the interest of both Cryptic and the players that such things are fixed asap even if that means that they can't solve a lot of smaller issues.

    I highly doubt that any of those bugs the game is said to be filled with, is more serious than the one that cause the entire game to crash.

    If solving such a serious issue (combined with possible other reasons) means that they don't have many bug fixes this week, then so be it.

    Ofc my demands mean squat if Cryptic actually gave a flurk we wouldn't have this page in game in the 1st place. It smacks of the UI revamp all over again where the software was not ready to go live and thus the bug issue they've reported is damage control to pacify our frustration about how it currently is working, they won't admit they rushed the product off the production line well before it was ready.

    They also won't remove it from game either. The "fix" ? will take as long as they want, as the longer it stays the way it is the more accustomed people will get to it and it will no longer be a "bug" but working as intended.

    At least they fixed a game-breaking bug. The Landing Page is merely a minor annoyance on my part and not game-breaking, nor a reason to go on 'hiatus'.
    Now a LTS and loving it.
    Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
    I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

    Why do patches take over 30mins to get done? Even minor ones take forever to get patched!
    Get some more bandwidth on the freaking patch servers!

    It's been 32mins and I'm at 54%

    No mention of the phantom autopatcher thats slowing down transitions.

    Landing page needs punted onto tribble until its sorted out.
