I would be a lot happier about this if it was a weekend event like the last Sompek.

The thought of running this awful event 14 times makes me want to peel the skin off my face.

I don't understand why people don't like this fight. I've always enjoyed it, and I have done it so many times.

so have i... done this many times.

event sucks cause it's a pure time gate.

they need to remove the time gate...

make is so you close X portals then next part.

also your closing portals and 1 hit and wham sorry start again.

sorry this is not a fun event after X number of runs over the years.

One way to fix this is that when you interact with a collector, you have the choice of directing its power to the defenses (as normal) or the anti-tachyon pulse (taking X seconds off the timer).

Agreed; that particular mechanic is long overdue for expunging from the game.

That said, look at the bright side - plenty of targets for starship mastery progression, and drops to sell/salvage.

Please tell me you've streamlined this event properly like you did with The Breach, this time last year all you did was make the cutscenes skippable while not actually shortening the mission. Just taking a few minutes off the timer would do it, cut it down from 15 to 5 or (maybe) 10. Problem solved. Otherwise with my ten toons it's gonna take me 3 hours a day to run through it with all of them.

Why would you want to run it on all your alts? The torpedo is an account unlock and there are easier ways to make 50k Dilithium. May not even take 2 weeks to earn that Dilithium.

I used to run these events on as many alts as I could, I burned out. Now that these events have account unlocks I run one, and done. To Gre'thor with the extra Dil and marks, like I said, easier ways.

Same. Luckily I have a full set of terran things on all my alts from maxing out previous runs, so I literally don't have to play for at least 10 more mirror runs if I choose not to.

I'll keep playing, but at a slower rate, just to avoid completely draining my reserves. But I'm so burnt out on events. Though I wouldn't mind playing CC again.
Starship mastery (and unique item) is one reason I still play MI. Dilithium is nice too, since I don't grind in others ways, these events are a major source of dil for me, and after saving up for months and pooling all my alts, I usually have enough to get the next nice ship pack on the C-Store.

I too have a full load of the the Multidimensional Transporter Devices squirrelled away on most of my alts so I can claim the reward on day 1. The decision on whether to claim the dil reward separately on each one will depend entirely on if the event has been streamlined. If it still takes 20 mins per run it's gonna be "Oh hell no!". If it takes less I might be persuaded to run it more.

Yeah, the timer needs to go! I've been in good groups that closed all the portals, and wiped all the invaders and charged all the satellites, and then had to sit and do NOTHING for 5 minutes while waiting for the timer to run out.

Seriously, Cryptic, STO is not a game at that point, it's a screensaver that eats your Internet connection. Kill the timer!!

The last time I ran this I did it on three or four Characters only. Before that five or six Characters. This time I will do it on one Character only and it will be the one that has the most MTDs in Inventory.

The recent Breach Event I only did it on one Character; the time before that I did it on all fourteen of my Characters (and regretted that after about eight days in).

I am just gonna do this event and then thats it for events for me till ViL comes in..Too many events over the past months..We've had them actually every week...And if the summer event pops in then its a pass from me..And with the delta recruit event coming to an end on the 17th of this month plenty of players will want a break before ViL comes in with the new ques, sectors, quadrant and other content...

The devs need to nuke the timmer for this que and introduce a mechanic to kick AFKers and allow other qued players to join in, also that one hit and restart mechanic needs to be nuked!!

I just ground a Fed Delta and just finished the Rom delta, doubt I will finish the kling delta..I am slowing down to impulse speed to get to ViL..

Would have loved to have seen a sliver of specs or details of the agony phaser torpedo, never heard of a phaser torp before..

Might do two myself... got a guy on 13 for last time so he can complete it, get 14 for next time and run another to get the current item

To be honest, I hate the afk community on sto (well, unless they run private instances) but I have to admit, the idea of mirror helling once more for half a month fills me with despair as its frankly not fun so I can see their point slightly

If you could close portals without some near invisible fighter plinking you at 99% completion, it would go a great deal towards allieviating the pain - as would removal of the timegate

That though would not happen as mirror torture is a goldmine ideal for inflating metrics - a large player base locked into a mission for 15+ minutes - and a reward that is laughable for time invested (seriously, I did the maths a while back - running isa/ce over and over (using alts to circumnavigate cds) for the same amount of time taken to run the 14 runs of hell gives me in total far, far more than 50k of dil (especially if you include mark conversion; hourly or lump 10x) with less pain and afking)

I have the same feeling. During the Sompek event, someone in my PUG was complaining that he was wasting 10 minutes in the timed event because the rest of us actually wanted to play it.

If people don't want to play the mission as intended, form a private queue and stay out of the public PUGs.

That's what I do with Mirror. I join private afk queues if I want to relax.

Well I just ran this, and wouldn't you know it but it's identical to last year with the only streamlining they did was skipping the cutscenes. The reward is a lot like the Vaadwaur one, only the torpedo is boosted by phaser damage instead of antiproton. And because only two of my characters actually use phasers, they're the two I'm doing this with. I've claimed the reward for those two already, I'm just going through the motions in re-stocking! :D

I personally like to think of it as time to work on my starship masteries. So many things to shoot! And they respawn endlessly so I can spend the entire timer wasting everything in firing range.

Same for me... found an alt with 14, got my torp (holy heck, its got to get a nerf... dot total is nearly 1/4 of the total torp hit damage (dot increasing dramatically with spread/hyt) and if you spread/hyt it, its a near guaranteed disable) so now I'm just running an alt for future tokens

Currently making the best of the situation by running for ship mastery on the 'saver' alts

      Why not cristallin entity??

I've been saying for years, they won't bring back the Crystalline Entity Event until they rework the queue. The Devs likely do not like how easy the Entity is to defeat. Even the Event version, with its various added hazards was still a joke.

Considering how fast the queue is, if you were a Dev, would you want players running every character they have thru this event and end up swimming in Dilithium? The last time it ran, I took 30+ alts thru it and it only took about 3 hours. And this was back before we had consistent 30 second runs on ADVANCED.

So yeah, don't expect to see the Crystalline Entity event any time soon, if ever again.

A rework is not necessary, simply reverting back to the original version, which could and would heal from 1% health back to 100% if a single player screwed up, would be enough to bring the challenge back, except the power creep over the years would mean far fewer runs where the entity is still alive after hours of being bombarded by a full queue.

I would prefer a mirror ground invasion event. The only ground event right now is Sompek and which seems to be more popular than the space events.

I tried the original version once - never again. It could've been a good map, but as a public queue a typical PUG was disastrous. After over two hours of spamming the space bar and watching as other players let those shards heal the entity time after time and keep resetting the progress I'd had enough. And the AFK attitude towards these events that Cryptic is promoting now days pretty much assures that the original CE would never be well received. Mind you over two hours of challenging content I could wholeheartedly get behind and take as a personal accomplishment, but I'd never attempt something like the original CE again in an open instance and I'm sure a private instance where people knew what to do wouldn't take anywhere near half an hour.

As another aside, I get a kick out of the 15 minutes game time shown in the queue interface of CCA.
