The stipend from a monthly subscription, should you remain subscribed, will not go away, nor will the stipend for buying an LTS.

Sorry, I wasn't referring to immediately. I'm thinking down the line, like if you guys add something in the future that makes the stipend less valuable. Say like a weekly unlock or something.
    LTS Since Beta (Jan 2010).

I am still currently trying to get enough tenure to be able to purchase the Fleet Heavy Destroyer Chimera. Are you going to make this ship purchasable to all? Are we still going to be able to acquire this ship?

You'll still be able to acquire the Chimera/Manticore/Peghu'/Duvqu'/Daeinos/Dinaes ships, by going LTS.

I would be against Cryptic deciding to just start handing out the LTS/Subscription exclusive perks to F2Pers like ten for a penny candy. The races(Talaxian and Liberated Borg), outfits, veteran ships. Keep those exclusive, give going LTS or longtime subscriber some meaning.

The costs of ships and cryptics love of bundling them already makes the stipend weaker than it was, especially when content to use those ships in is lacklustre or the tired old queues which makes any ship a much harder sell.

On the vet side I have a hunch that they're going to go down a similar path to neverwinters vip setup so one possibility is that they'll tie the vet ships into one of those high end level/tier things. The LTS is more than likely the main reason its not come about sooner as they needed to figure out how to handle things without TRIBBLE it up more than usual.

The VIP program over on NW is a monthly purchase (you can buy multiple months at once if you like) that provides bonuses based on level/how long you've bought into the program. XP boosts, transportation, mail, and crafting options, that kind of thing. Conveniently for NW a month of the VIP program costs about what a month's subscription to other Cryptic games would cost. And if you don't keep buying you lose the benefits when your time is up, although your level remains.

I find it very odd that PWE removes a revenue source. I don't know how many Gold subscribers there are (I'm LTS since Jan 2010 ). Were there not enough to sustain their own existence?

Anything that would affect my stipend concerns me.
Yeah, I'm a cheap player, but I have placed some money into this game. I bought the LTS, and LoR starter pack for cash.
Everything else I've purchased with my stipend or via exchange, which is fine, as I don't play every single day anymore anyway.
Does PWE/Cryptic plan on adding more costumes or ships on a regular basis to ensure continued revenue?

Right now, the only way to obtain this ship will be an LTS. We may look into other ways in the future.

Thank you sir or ma'am, I have wanted that particular ship since I first joined years ago, just haven't always been in a financial position to acquire it. Sure there is others out there in the same boat as I.

Okay, I see that the announcement has been edited to add this...
Can current subscribers - Gold or Lifetime - buy this pack on top of their subscription for extra rewards?

Yes! However, this pack will not help you go over the maximum number of slots, so please be careful when purchasing.

This is false. I have a LTS and the only thing I have maxed out are the character slots and I suppose the EC cap increase too, but that's a given. I cannot buy this pack for the added inventory/shared/bank/BOff slots, all of which I am nowhere near the cap on. I can actually buy ALL of these things individually, except more character slots obviously, but I can't buy the pack and save some money.

So this is either a bug that I hope gets worked out, or it's false advertising. I'm hoping for bug as I'd really like to get this.

    @ambassadorkael#6946, mind looking into this?

I had this problem on one character. His bank is maxed and I could not claim the pack to get the inventory slots (not maxed) and other items. I was able to claim it on all my other characters though, so 1 out of 11 failing isnt as big a disappointment as it would otherwise be.

OK... signed on the game and did a quick research project:
When you purchase the Elite Starter Pack, the following will unlock for your whole account:
    • One new Character Slot
    • 20 Shared Bank Slots
    • 5 Captain Retrain Tokens
    • An Increase on your Energy Credit Cap to 2 billion Energy Credits

Shared Bank Account = Silver Max 100 slots / Gold Max 120 slots

Unclear if Silver goes up to 120 slots and Gold goes up to 140 if the Elite Starter Pack is purchased.

Am Gold subscriber, and my account shared bank went to 140.

Energy Credit Cap = Silver 15 Million
Energy Credit Cap Unlock in Zen Store = 2 Billion

If you bought the Energy Credit Cap Unlock in the Zen Store, you have what is in the Elite Starter Pack.

Bought that 2 years before subbed so no change there.

Character Slots = STO Wiki states 56(?). Which means they are not sure if that is the max.

You can see how many character slots you have unlocked and available for use by hovering your cursor over the "Character Creation" button on the Character Select Screen.

To know how many characters you are using...I assume, start counting all your characters. Have fun.

GRRRRRR.... so sick of this Edit Monster....GO AWAY!

I only have 11 characters, so I cannot comment on the rest of this, except to say that I did get an additional character slot.

And there is the restriction. If you have, at the very least, the max number of characters allowed per account, then you cannot buy this pack. I'm in the same boat. So while I'm kinda ticked off, I kind of figured that'd be how it'd work.

No idea if we'd get more bank/inventory/BOff slots if those were maxed out because while mine aren't, I can't buy it to even find out. :(

I'm F2P player - could not wait for sales, and buyed this pack - my account shared bank slots went from 100 (max for F2P account) to 120... so already at profit. Add to it that reclaim on all of my 18 characters... nice one - thanks Cryptic (or PWE)

So, I have been subbed for almost 700 days. I bought this pack and proceeded to go through all 10 toons and claim it. Everything was fine with it granting extra inventory, bank and account bank slots as expected, until I got to my last character.

On my last character,. it would not let me claim the pack. It told me I was at the limit. I did have the max bank slots, it's my crafting character, but not inventory or anything else that goes with this pack. I ended up having to spend another 1200 Zen to get the equivalent inventory slots on my crafting character as all my other characters got for "free" from this pack.

I would suggest someone review the way bank/inventory slots are awarded/calculated and go ahead and grant the other items from the pack if one of them cannot be due to limits already being reached.

I said this part earlier & I'll say it again: Cryptic should automatically bump-up to the next tier of subscriber rewards based off of the 100 day intervals for whichever players that are not already subscribed, but had been subscribers in the past. It should be rounded-up too of course as part of a friendly company gesture. It should include current subscribed players that probably will eventually cancel their subscription too. Otherwise, Cryptic is pretty much stating thanks for your investment of money now here's a middle finger towards finishing any tiered goal unless LTS.

Thanks for the replies vegeta50024 and evilmark444, I mainly asked because ambassadorkael responded to omicronpercei8 question about the Chimera heavy destroyer and stated "Right now, the only way to obtain this ship will be an LTS. We may look into other ways in the future"

That implies that only LTS will now get it, guess I will find out in 14 days .

LTS automatically gains everything that a 1000 day subscriber gets. Only they get it all at once without having to wait (except for the monthly stipend).

I'm pretty sure I'm not LTS, but I give you guys my money every month and you take it. I don't get a stipend. Am I correct in that if you are currently taking my money each month, you will continue to do so, and I won't lose my account bank slots, ships, unlocks? I need a little clarification for non-LTS subscribers.

Bought the pack this morning before I left for work. I can confirm the shared bank slots and extra inventory slots for the character I purchased it on. Also confirmed is the extra character slot.
I did not seem to find the 5 captain retrain tokens; the captain retrain UI seemed to indicate I had only one.
I have not confirmed the ability to claim the per character parts, but I'll do that tomorrow.

Being an LTSer as well as already buying all the shared bank slots, does that mean the only benefits I'd see if I got this was the extra toon slot and bank/inv slots for my existing toons?

The extra space for all of my 10 toons would be a huge boon all their banks are overflowing so the extra storage is handy. The deciding factor will be whether the ViL expansion comes with a free toon slot- I'll be more likely to buy this if it doesn't.

Question: were you maxed out on Account bank slots when you bought the Elite Starter Pack??? As I am at max 100 slots for a Silver account.

I keep reading that people are blocked from buying it if they are maxed out on various items already.

The other concern I have with this is: it seems it clears out or resets the number of Retrain Tokens and does not give players the 5 that comes with the Pack.

I just checked the game...I have 12 Retrain Tokens currently...so I will be kinda ticked if those disappear.

I may wait until everything gets ironed out before buying this.

Thing with the retrain tokens is that unless they've overhauled the system, every change consumes a token and the previous setup is lost. What would be better is if each token enables a separate setup that you could switch between at will- then you could have a setup for each kind of ship you like to fly. So the setup for a sci ship is going to be very different to that for an escort, which in turn is going to be different to that for a cruiser.

I bought the Elite Starter Pack last night. My account bank was increased by two rows of cells which is great, and I got the extra character slot. I can't tell if I got the Retrain Tokens. Was not able to grab the Reclaim box on my Main (who already has full bank/inventory, but not full BOff slots). I didn't go through all the rest of my 19 alts, but I know none of them have max slots on anything. I did test one alt and he got the Reclaim box (and it's bank, inventory, BOff slots) with no problem. I added this item as to my "New Character Stuff" list so I'll remember to get it in the future (like when VIL launches).

You can find/contact me in game as @PatricianVetinari. Playing STO since Feb 2010.

So, did I get this straight?
If I unsub now, and once the remaining sub days run out:

    1) the subscriber boff/character slots are gone, but if I buy the elite pack afterwards this would offset the character slot, and partially offset subscriber boffs (2 out of 6?) Or, I can buy it while subbed, get extra boffs/characters anyway, and then offset them with normal purchases, if I want to.

    2) Bank, respecs, inventory stay, just like normal unsub, and ones from the elite pack are on top of those (limits permitting.) for characters that were there during the sub, and just the elite pack for ones that weren't.

    3) Veteran tier is frozen, but whatever you have under it right now is still available. No way to earn more short of LTS.

ADD: And yes, would the account still count as gold for Tribble access? I think it only checked if you ever had a sub, not if it's current, but I'm not sure.

nebfab, for 1) & 2), when you are subscribed to STO any services/items you earn while leveling you will not lose once you become unsubbed. The only exception is the Energy Credit capacity increase which you do lose if you are not subscribed & have not purchased it under Services. All other services/items earned while leveling & subscribed you retain even after your subscription cancels.

Regarding 3) you are correct. Since Cryptic is ceasing the subscription model except LTS & only allowing currently active subscriptions to continue advancing in the Veteran Rewards tiers will not be possible except with LTS if a subscription cancels. That is why I think Cryptic should:
"Cryptic should automatically bump-up to the next tier of subscriber rewards based off of the 100 day intervals for whichever players that are not already subscribed, but had been subscribers in the past. This Elite Starter Pack does have merit & value, but players abound are already having technical problems with it just trying to purchase it let alone with all the Elite Starter Pack's stipulations.

@nommo: I'm pretty sure boff and character slots didn't stay on normal unsub (at least, they never did for me) even if everything else did.

ADD: Boffs/characters themselves aren't gone, just the slots: next time you buy slots they first go towards offsetting the "debt" you have for those slots, and only then you get actual free slots: So, the first purchase of 2 char slots on an unsubbed character actually only gives you 1 free char slot, and same with boffs, but the numbers are bigger.

I just had a nightmare that C-Store ship purchases became per-character only.

Also, given the 5 retrain tokens are per-account, has anyone checked in the Services/Promotions section to see if they are simply claimable, like the T5-U upgrade tokens?

Free to player here. So I bought the elite starter pack primarily for the account bank slots and bridge officer spaces. None of my main characters could claim the character pack. I can buy inventory, bank, and boff slots separately still as I haven't maxed out on those. Is it if you don't have room for 60 bank slots you cant claim any of it? My characters were close to max on the bank slots. At least I got the 20 account shared bank slots and a character slot.

I am wondering about how, if any, would this new pack affect me. I was a gold member for quite a while. I received all the bonuses/unlocks. Soon after, I had some medical issues and I was away from the game for a year, or a little more. SInce I returned I couldn't afford to return to Gold status. Would this do anything for my account?

Kinda **** over LTS that havent bought increased stash or bank vaults. I have been an LTS for ages and all I get is a measly 500 zen, yes I could have saved them and bought an increase at times instead and yada yada all that. But seriously, what do we get as a long time LTS holder? Sqaut, I dont see it as a benifit, just another money grapping tactic from cryptic HQ.

LTS/gold already get these elite starter pack perks (plus a little more). Cryptic took out subscriptions and now allows you to outright buy most of what you would've gained leveling once for all future characters instead of subbing for the duration of leveling each. Although there is some ambiguity as to whether or not golds can get an extra benefit from the pack, given the replacement of subscribing with the starter pack I'm going to assume they don't stack and gold members would be wasting money getting one anyways.

I will gladly eat my words, but I have never gotten any increase in vault size, ever, unless I paid Zen for it. I am happy if its smaller for non LTS atm, then as I said, will gladly eat my words. I have noticed I have have a max of 2bill EC, so that perk I got, but I dont feel like we have been given the inventory increases. Yes they expand when I level up. I might not notice the changes to bank or account bank being increased. I still feel like we're being somewhat over looked. I think I had better go get some more cheese now. /end rant

OK...I went through the Wiki this morning, and looked for all the maximum limits and UPDATED my previous post with more information..... I hope this helps:

When you purchase the Elite Starter Pack, the following will unlock for your whole account:
    • One new Character Slot
    • 20 Shared Bank Slots
    • 5 Captain Retrain Tokens
    • An Increase on your Energy Credit Cap to 2 billion Energy Credits

Shared Bank Account = Silver Max 100 slots / Gold Max 120 slots

Unclear if Silver goes up to 120 slots and Gold goes up to 140 if the Elite Starter Pack is purchased.

Several people have reported back they purchased the Elite Starter Pack and, yes, it will work just fine if you have maxed the Shared Account Bank Slots. In other words, if you have Silver max of 100, it will take it to 120 slots; if you have Gold max of 120, it will take it to 140 slots.

Energy Credit Cap = Silver 15 Million
Energy Credit Cap Unlock in Zen Store = 2 Billion

If you bought the Energy Credit Cap Unlock in the Zen Store, you have what is in the Elite Starter Pack.

Character Slots = STO Wiki states 56(?). Which means they are not sure if that is the max.

Count character slots you have unlocked and available for use by hovering your cursor over the "Character Creation" button on the Character Select Screen. Then, count all active characters on the Character Select Screen, I suppose.

Sum up both these character numbers and subtract from max, if it is more than 2, you are good to go, if it is less than 2 the system will not allow you to buy the Elite Starter Pack at all.

This is the addendum to my previous post .....

Once the initial product is purchased, a new product will appear called Elite Starter Pack Reclaim. This can be claimed once per character and unlocks:
    • 30 Inventory Slots
    • 60 Bank Slots
    • 2 Bridge Officer Slots

Inventory Slots = Silver Max 168 / Gold Max 204

Count INVENTORY Slots, subtract that from max. If the difference is more than 30, character is are good to go...if the difference is less than 30, character can not claim the Elite Starter Pack Reclaim.

Bank Slots = Silver Max 264 / Gold Max 336

Count BANK slots, subtract from max. If the difference is more than 60, you are good to go...if the difference is less than 60, character can not collect the Elite Starter Pack Reclaim.

BOFF Slots = 54 Max per character.

    ++++++++++++++++

If a character does not have enough "HEAD ROOM" in each category, the system will not allow the purchase of the Elite Starter Pack, or claim the Elite Starter Pack Reclaim on subsequent characters that has already hit the limits.
