Although it has been quite some time ago, I remember having a single toon and playing the game (not the exchange). 600K is a lot of money for a new player unless they focus on making EC right from the start. Most new players are probably the same as I was. They found a "new" game that looks fun, they jump in and start playing and only after they start having real difficulties do they use Google or the Forums looking for tips. As I had never played the exchange, my first toon (just before DR) was level 50 and had never had more than a max of about 200K EC at any given time.
I'm new player and I'm now lvl 50 passed almost lvl 60 (maxed) I saw on facebook they will raise level very soon to level 65. What you said the price is too high for a new player, I will have to save a lot of EC, the problem is that it is very long before reaching several thousand EC. Why do not people put a good price like this because of our money limit!?

Just because someone doesn't know the forum 'lingo' for Bridge Officer vs. Duty Officer doesn't make them a troll. We were all new once, lets try not to be overly hostile for no reason.
@roswell51 I am assuming you're non US, so not sure what times you are on. I am US but work nights and I can login using my laptop. I'll look for you later today/tonight and see if I can find you online and give you the rifle since for some reason it won't let me mail it to you.
Just use that on your captain, and give the rest of your bridge officers frequency remodulators (you can find them in your replicator) and you should be good to go.

The price on PC is about 1.5M.
What you need to understand is that these items aren't cheap to make. People aren't just being greedy.. selling one at 600k would barely be making anything. The gun takes several Very Rare components to craft, most of the cost is Dilithium, but it's not like they're taking free items and marking them up. It takes time to get your crafting school high enough, and then you need all the materials. The gun is not cheap to make, even at 1M credits, the seller isn't making very much at all.
When you get up to higher levels and start doing queues and stuff you'll see that 1 Million Credits is nothing, it's peanuts.. it just seems like a lot right now.
And don't worry about the PS4/PC thing.. I just assumed you were PC so it was on me too. It's all good.
This is why we need the original STF's back! Players need to learn that the Borg are supposed to be a challenge. I miss those hour long missions that contained both ground and space in a single mission and that actually offered a decent reward for completing each one.

I can however give you a few pointers for fighting Borg, keep at range and use your speed advantage to outmaneuver the drones (they are really slow). Remodulate frequently and invest in the Omega rep ground sets (the full sets give you a auto remodulator which is quicker than the standard remodulators.

OP go through various builds and setups..Not checked the subforums for the consoles but there could be hints, tips and tricks to help you out if your finding it tough..If you were on PC there are a bunch of us who would have gladl helped out..
For EC to get alot fairly fast, do stuff like tour the galaxy, your endevours, selling unused stuff which are not bound to your cahracter and you dont need on the exchange, admirality, DoFF missions, so plenty of opions to gain EC and a small amount of DIL..Get into a fleet too..
The borg are fairly easy to crack like nuts..Look at weapons from the omega reputation..I would suggest start another toon ONLY TO GO OVER THE TUTORIAL AGAIN to clear any doubts on gameplay..

I need to ask, not that I hate the Borg, but why can't I jump out of warp when I want to fight them, and what is their biggest weakness (other than the fact that I need to reset my ships phaser settings to random every half-second), and I am either at level 10 or 11. And, BTW, if you want to see what my level is, my ship is the U.S.S. Death Star and my name is Vader, and lastly, my character is a Vulcan. Also, I think the Star Trek game Bridge Commander needs to be free. It's not cool enough to need money.
Sounds to me like the OP either had his character boosted and handed to him, or didn't pay attention to detail as he was leveling up, tried to windsprint to high end, and just assumed that once he hit the higher levels he would be hot ****. Or is baiting for free gear. The game even holds your hand regarding the first interaction with the Borg. Not only that, left out details of his own(console vs pc), possibly to play the sympathy card with angry angry remarks. If that's the case, OP has many valuable lessons to learn, rather than hefting the blame bat at people not carrying his chat handle. @azrael605 might not have been totally too far off.
I caught the sense of entitlement in the OP's posts, how "I'm high level. I should have this, enemy should do that, people selling on exchange should sell for this, cryptic should give T6 ship to me," and so forth.
For those who can't afford Exchange prices for shield-penetrating and adaptation-resistant kinetic ground weapons, a cheaper solution can be to make sure that the Tactical officers on your Away Team are trained up in Sweeping Strikes and Lunge. The bridge officer training vendors at Earth Spacedock, New Romulus Command or Flotilla, and the Barracks at Qo'nos' First City all sell those manuals.
@darthvader123, those Borg cubes that you're probably seeing in sector space become available to fight at level 50. If you're seeing what I think you're seeing, those are instances of five-player team content out in space. They're a good source to go to when you're working on the game's Reputation gameplay at high level, so you'll have plenty of encounters with the Borg to look forward to.

so...you don't think the people who worked on bridge commander deserve to get paid for their work (or the people who funded the people who worked on the game don't deserve to make their money back?)? or you think they should monetize it some other way? please clarify :X. to be clear, the company that made/runs STO neither published nor developed Bridge Commander, so saying that here will have zero effect anyway.
