frtoasterfrtoaster Member Posts: 3,352 Arc User
Deep Space Nine is currently pitch black when Lighting 2.0 is turned off.

Steps to reproduce

1. Go to Deep Space Nine.
2. Turn off Lighting 2.0.
3. Observe that Deep Space Nine looks too dark. There's hardly any light at all.

Here's a report from another user.

The Map is amazing, but with light 1.0 (whish I use for performance reasons) there is a bug or more specific: With light 1.0 there is no light at all.

pssssttt...hey, buddy, don't fret...i think the devs are just trying to be kind...and spare you from seeing the flickering bottles on the shelf of the new Quark's. don't be too harsh on 'em. ::::giggles:::: :)

I blame Slamek. He must have sabotaged the station, because he thought it was too bright in there.

No thanks needed. I figured this bug deserved its own thread.

I will loan you a bat'leth for that one. LOL!

As for DS9...I saw it on You Tube. Definitely brighter in Lighting 2.0.
The pictures you have up on this thread....doesn't even look like there is any lighting working at all.

DS9 doesn't appear to have any ambient lighting. There are other lights distributed throughout the station. Unfortunately, those lights don't illuminate most objects when Lighting 2.0 is off. Curiously, reflections still work. If you look at the images below, you can see the reflections on my tetryon pulsewave, the panel on the left, and the glass door.

LOL! I am sorry.....this looks very funny.
Too bad I can't get on Tribble, too...I could bring my Ferengi's whip and see it glow-in-the-dark.
Then we can go play hide'n'go seek. :::::giggles::::

Sorry that you don't have the chance to play around in Slamek's Playground. Tacofangs might have it fixed before they open up Tribble again to non-subscribers. The question is whether the graphics programmers will fix all the other stuff.

Lightning 2.0 even on 0 bloom has too much ambient/background lightning.

It is wayyy to bright there just like any other map.

Deep space nine is black/very dark and Lighting 2.0 is greyed out unable to select it on the options screen. Is there a fix for this yet?

If you are running in Lighting 1.0, and when you are on DS9 the lighting appears to be non-existent (black), please go to your graphics settings, turn shadows off, hit apply, then turn shadows back on, and hit OK.

A few people on Holodeck are reporting that this has fixed the issue for them.
