How is Nog a "Brand New Actor"

So Nog, played by Aron Eisenberg, is the latest actor to be announced by the Cryptic team. Odd, but I'm sure I've seen him in the game before. I suppose a reconfirmation of further work is nice but he's hardly new to STO, somewhat disingenuous from the STO team imo. Following this logic the last 3 characters could be any of those that have already voiced for STO. Why not just announce that Mr Eisenberg is "Returning" to Cryptic to star in the upcoming expansion, that would have been warmly received, but the implication was, and the statement said, "Brand New".

Oh well, not complaining, was just hoping for someone new new.

He's not new, he 1st appeared at the start of the iconian war arc and stayed until the final mission.

I'm not disappointed as I suspected that his character would be a part of this too, but perhaps Cryptic would have been better served by having all of those DS9 roles that had previously been involved in STO (Martok; Nog) depicted in that first visual wave of announcements and then rolled out those freshly joining afterwards? Nog in place of Kira for instance.

He's not new to STO, and all actors are new to ViL, are they going to advertise Shon and Kurland with great fanfare too?

    Direct links:

They advertised Aron as new to ViL, or simply the next joining ViL. Your presumption that this actor would be new to STO isn't substantive. Take it as a lesson to give the ads a closer read in future and move on.

Of course with all the Time Shenanigans going on in this game, Nog could have been wiped out of all his previous encounters with us by a Temporal Anomaly. Same way Geordi was 'Forest Gumped' into an existing episode after his 'debut' in the Galaxy Bridge Advertisement Episode. ;)

I suspect that previous actors will return as well. I expect to see Worf at the very least and wouldn't be surprised to see Kurn as well since he was in one episode of DS9, so it works.

I too would like to see "new" actors brought in, like Jeffery Combs and maybe even Colm Meaney. Avery Brooks would be awesome, but not sure they could afford to get him, or if he'd even be interested.

I will enjoy whoever they do manage to get and I really don't mind seeing familiar faces showing up again.

IIRC Dorn (due to bad blood with Cryptic) and Brooks (due being too expensive) are out of the question, rest are possible as far as I know and if Bashir is coming to STO I wouldn't be surprised is O'Brien wasn't far behind.

What bad blood between Cryptic and Michael Dorn? Never heard anything about that, but it would be really sad if he wouldn't return :(

I don't know, I heard something about how he doesn't like what Cryptic did with Worf, but I don't know any specifics.

There is no bad blood between Dorn and Cryptic, hell, he had new lines for the end of Brushfire not too long ago.
those lines aren't "new" in the sense of being freshly recorded though, they're reused lines from other things mainly from the KDF storyline

The stupid rumor stems from people thinking he was angry that Cryptic killed Alexander.
I don't known either mister Dorn or anyone at Cryptic personally so I can comment on only what I've heard.
