Race Specific Weapons Leveling Weapons.

I wasn’t sure where to post this at.
The Original Series bundle had weapons that could be claimed and even though they were only white and could not be upgraded; the weapons leveled with the toon. I claim those for my bridge officers when available and other than shields and armor. I don’t worry about changing out their weapons.
I wonder if we could have packs that offer race or faction specific items that work like the Original Series bundle phasers. I like having my BO, especially since I tend to make mine all the same species, have the same species specific weapons. Having them level with me then I don’t have to worry about constantly changing them out.

Also, the sad truth is that you don't need to worry about your boffs until you reach lvl 50 either way. Give them a newer weapon once in a blue moon and you'll be fine. Most my boffs run around in the starting stuff until they become clothes racks for the rep & mission reward sets.
From a gaming perspective (for me anyway), my ships crew is going to carry whatever weapon they can grab that does the most damage in the shortest time.
