target lock on xbox

in The Academy
when ever i lock on a target the lock randomly switches to other targets. im pressing the the right stick but it will change the lock either to other enemy's or allies that the target goes near or my ship points to regardless of range.

    Depending on the NPC...This might be a placate affect like Jam sensors. Whats the NPC you were facing?

    it happens all the time i lock on to a target in range and will jump to another target out range behind me or if im chasing something it will switch to other nearby targets or allies.
