The Kelvin Timeline Constitution-Class is not only my favorite ship design but its just so damned powerful and my favorite ship archtype in game. I have yet to part with it and chances are I never will. Unless of course they make a Beyond style Enterprise-A skin. CRYPTIC PLEASE!!!!

ST-1 Neros ship was from the future it should kick its butt. ST-2 Vengeance was double the size, ya but still built on same tech level it shouldnt have just ripped through it. ST-3 enemy just drove through the entire ship + shields like they were tissue paper.... come on...

It was a very well done scene. Hopefully the more advanced Enterprise-A will be able to tank some hits.

Plus she went down with more of a fight than any previous film in which the ship has been destroyed. TSFS she took one hit from Kruge's ship before Kirk set the destruct. Generations took a few torpedoes and a disruptor bust or 2 from a ship vaped by one torp, granted ignoring shields, but the KT Enterprise kept fighting while being ripped apart piece by piece, no sudden magic vulnerability or anything.

    > Keep in mind im not knocking the new movies ship, its the stupid directors that have made her get roflstomped. And in Generations Riker made the most common pitfall, underestimated his opponent. Riker was like pshh 20 year old bop is no threat, lets sit in 1 place like a fish in a barrel. The torpedos that the Ent-D took were also likely very powerful vs say TMP era torpedos, so taking a bunch of those straight to the hull would hurt.
    >
    > The Ent-D's warpcore was also targeted, lucky she didnt breach and explode faster then she did. People pick on that part of the movie as bad plot, but honestly its a classic pitfall of humanity, Justin Lin basicly copied it for ST Beyond. Kirk should have turned away right off as everyone told him to fall back, but kirk being kirk pushed his luck, he was overconfident another classic pitfall.
    >
    > Why I said its a stupid direction though, is JJ Ent had 3 movies in a row where it got manhandled like no tomorrow, id like to see it really stand up to some damage before getting wrecked next time. TNG movies went, Ent-D wrecked thanks to 100% shield pen, Ent-E whoops borg butt, Ent-E took a sona beatdown before blowing them up, Ent-E and Scim had manly boxing match which basicly had Scim Ropeadope the E, till E threw the match by biting off Scimitars ear.

    > True for your points about Generations. However, like RLM pointed out, all they had to do was remodulate shields. It should be standard opperating procedure on Starfleet vessels by that point. I mean heck, Voyager used that method just to demonstrate how advanced the Krenim's chroniton based weaponry was that, even though Tuvok was constantly remodulating the shield frequency, the torpedos were still getting through.
    >
    > In Beyond, Kirk had no idea that the swarm was capable of penetrating energy shielding and after they go hit he immidetly gave the order to retreat into the nebula. Kirk was not suffering from overconfidence at all in the movie. In fact part of his whole character arc was him wondering if he was living up to his father's example by captaining the Enterprise on the 5 year tour. They also didn't copy Generations because in Generations the crew succumbed to their own characteristic incompetence by not taking the prudent and obvious safeguards to protect themselves from a hostile vessel staring them in the face. In Beyond Kirk was ambushed by a superior enemy force for which they had no means of defence and could not prepare against.

Hell there is NO Enterprise short of the J model that could of survived that attack. Hell Kirk was following SOP and trying to be friendly first and was VERY quick off the mark in ordering Red Alert.

I look at Kirk's actions in Beyond during that first encounter and he basically did it by the book. But even doing it right and doing nothing wrong can still get you killed. Just the way it is.

No matter what ship I have the lack of meaningful content and barren STF queues kill my interest.

Nothing but the same stuff over, and over, and over...

True enough! However, trying a new class of ship, at least for me, made it a little more enjoyable for a while. I had never really touched anything close to a carrier or science ship until the Vesta's came out.

I’m interested in the Eternal, but not interested in sinking $30 into maybe a week of something new...

While the free to play aspect has me playing regularly, if it wasn't for the S'ateth I think I'd have quit by now. The closest thing to a Star Destroyer in the game and, as an escort, able to mount the closest weapons to turbolasers to boot. Shame the alien creation options are as limited as they are.

The biggest sale usually is for Black Friday in November. With DL to ZEN prices being fairly low right now. Lightly grinding for 3,000 ZEN wouldn't take too long. There is usually a sale around the 4th of July and probably will be one around the Memorial Day weekend around the end of May as well. In come cases, ZEN bonuses overlap sales, which means you save even more. Either way, I hope you get your hands on an Eternal at some point.

While on the subject of sales, i will probably grab the latest escort pack (T6 Andorian etc) and the

The latter has been on the list for some time, but last time the budget was nonexistent and dil grind not sufficient for the appropriate zen.

This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
