Well... getting the canon gripe out of the way, that it's been redesigned in that way just firmly establishes that this is NOT the canon timeline of ENT-TOS-TNG/DS9/Voy.
Have you not heard of a retcon before? That's what this redesign is, and it's fantastic. I just hope the Klingon redesign doesn't also become a retcon, cause that is just stupid and hideous.
It's also funny how they think ENT shares a smooth continuity with TNG/DS9/VGR or that TOS shares a continuity with anything as it can't even manage to have one with itself.
At least that's what I assume they're saying, as I can only guess they're confusing what they call 'canon' with what they mean, which is 'continuity'.

I actually like the combination window / viewscreen most ships have now, looks good and serves a practical purpose too in that if the viewscreen is disabled they can still see out. Consider TWoK, at the end in the Nebula the viewscreen was all staticy and they could barely see the Reliant, with these window viewscreens that would have been less of an issue.

Huh... never thought of it that way. While it is also technically a weakness as well. One that was actually covered in the video game Star Trek, that takes place between 09 and Into Darkness. Kirk actually blew out the viewscreen to get rid of a rather large Gorn, and had to hold on until the emergency replacement slid into place. I doubt that can be done more than once before stopping at a starbase for repairs though.

I like the idea the window was added to the Franklin (despite being absent on the NX and NV) for the Romulan War. On the off chance somebody would be able to spot the distortion effect of a BoP cloaking. Then it was determined it was useful and the design was kept for the Kelvin (and Newton etc.) and the ships in DSC before being phased out in TOS due to more advanced sensors (or by TMP if they're retconning TOS' ships).

It shouldn't have been an issue period. There is no nebula in existence that could interfere with an AM transistor radio, much less 23rd century tech, but sadly Nick Meyer infected Trek with this massive factual mistake about the nature of nebulas.

I prefer the grey color, the white hull and straight pylons were the two main reasons I always hated, HATED the TOS era Connie. Let's be honest though, no matter how Cryptic adds this ship they definitely will allow you to use the TOS hull material.
I love the white and the straight pylons. TOS connie will always be my fav ~hugs a TOS connie lovingly~
It also gives me the idea that the hull itself is luminous, which is cool.

I'd have to agree. Until we actually get a ship out to study a nebula up close... we kinda don't know anything about them at all other than they exist.

Unfortunately that's not how this line works. They will give their development order to whatever they think makes the most money, not what people have asked for the longest.
The Kelvin A is a complete redesign, so I guess a reskin is not in order..Parts that are redesigned for the Kelvin A are the saucer rim, the neck, pylons, nacells, deflector..Basically a rework of the base model, unlike the constitution, miranda and sovereign (the sov is still off from the final nemisis version which had many more base model modifications) which got repaints..
To be fair the klingon side never went for looks..Their ships are built to last in a fire fight..Look at how long the BoP has lasted..Remeber a pair of Kvort classes could take down the Enterprise D in "Yesterdays Enterprise" then in generations a D12 despite the disadvantage of a defect and a little help from soron could cripple the Enterprise D enough to send it down to Viridian 3 before going boom..Even in the DS9 era we saw plenty of ships which have been there for ages and still pack a punch..So yeah..Dont discount a klingon ship because of looks..But I do agree here a few of them should get an upgrade to T6 or at the very least a T5U status..

Nebulas do not interfere with telescopes from Earth seeing through them, they do not block radio signals from pulsars, their particle density is so low that they only appear as clouds from light years away, from up close they just look like more space. Basically everything about the sequence in TWOK ignores the FACTS of nebulas, all of which information was know at the time, and the scientific advisor on TWOK told Meyer all of it.
The nebulas we've seen anyway, who's to say there isn't at least one highly dense nebula somewhere in the universe? We've only seen a tiny fraction of what's out there.
