    KAEL,

I have to say, this IS frakking EPIC. Glorious combat alongside the Klingons, and now, The Founders. I suspect their friends the Cardassians aren't too far behind.

XIV gear and Epic consoles, and you're giving it the "I don't know why someone thinks I have good DSP..." routine??:lol:
Universal consoles found on ships when you buy them are always epic. What I'm saying is I have no "Vulnerability"-based fleet consoles or energy-specific-enhancing tac console like phaser relay or antiproton mag regulator.
:lol: Sure, but again, Mk XIV gear! It packs more of a punch than Mk XII does :lol:
It's still not high-dps. Or there is a significant gap between "high-dps" and "DPS-League-levels" of dps in the game.

I tried with my D4x BOP which does have lower ranked gear, the same "only universal consoles from other ships" setup, and only one weapon that can target something that isn't in a 45° forwards angle (the experimental weapon of the Sistruus that takes 4 seconds to reload and has a significant travel speed). I still trashed the swarmers without being in danger of blowing up once.

What I'm saying is no matter what, your dps doesn't matter, the swarmers are a joke that shouldn't threaten any NPC ship in the mission.

I'll try with my Valkis later which is even lesser-equipped to see if the swarmers are a bigger threat to slow-moving targets.
But it's still higher DPS than the mission requires  Do you have any T5 or T4 ships in your available list? Load one with Mk X/Mk XII gear, and exchange consoles like shield emitters, prefire chambers, monotanium plating etc, and then replay the mission. Obviously, having played the mission before, will give you the advantage of foreknowledge for strategies, but I'll suspect that you'll find the mission more of a challenge (not impossible, but more of a challenge) than you have with your previously listed builds :sunglasses:

I found the mission quite good, the idea of being able to transport over to a station that size somewhat easy abit of a let down, maybe with the Tzenkethi captain we befriended contacting us letting us know she was going to attempt to lower the station's shields for us as we fought outside. The difficulty of the Tzenkethi i can understand as like in even the shows the strength of enemies shrinks as they keep appearing story wise.

With the reveal of the Drantzuli either being the Hur'q, or being a caretaker of the Hur'q was interesting an fun to see. I liked the look of the ships, and how it felt like I was fighting a swarm of ants/bees/wasps kinda in style. I personally hope that the Hur'q are shown to be more of a caste-style race with different groups functions to fulfill different roles, and so might have specific ships designed for the different castes to use. The strength of the swamers to me felt about right as I felt they were at about a level between hanger-pet an light escort levels. I look forwards to seeing what the Hur'q design looks like, if it is just like the Drantzuli, or if we get another design like an adult form.

Can't really compare difficulty between people as we do not know what everyone is playing on difficulty level wise, gear wise, and so without a good baseline to gauge it all from that is kinda fruitless.

It would be nice to see some improvements to carriers an hanger-pets, even if it were merely to replace the ranking system on the carrier/hanger-pets with something else. The fact that a carrier/hanger using ships both lose their pets, as well as have to rebuilt the levels of those pets after map transfers is about bad.

As far as I know, the Anniversary event isn't on console yet. Or at least, the episode isn't.

I thought it was great! ran it on my sci main in a T6 Oddy. fortuntely i had the old oddy set on. Aquarius and the saucer were both very useful intying up the ships if I had to run down torpedos.
oh.. and i a few weeks a MEKLETH!!! YES!!!

assuming DS9 getting pretty beat up like ESD did.. a revamp??? Hope so especially if we get to visit Vic's

I liked the mission, like the Hur'q weren't the toughest, but that was just the scouting/caretaker party, not the main forces, it just a teasing taste.

And why did the do so much damage? Because the Alliance and the Tzenkethi had soften each other up before hand.

More interesting is that the Tzen space station is still there after the fight is over.

I believe The Odo audio came from DS9 Season 2 Episode 1 within the first minute.

The mission stinks of "that'll do". But then again so does the rest of the game so respect for consistency? That said i'm not happy at all that the warp core for that space set can only be gotten from that t6 grind ship.

I'm assuming the ship is so bad you couldn't justify the grind without it?

It's my belief that the Loriss we know from Second Wave is still alive. I know it's kind of a joke that Vorta die alot and are replaced by clones, but I don't really think this is something that should be done all that often with characters who are not explicitly villains. It's unsettling.

For another thing, Loriss was placed in command of the largest Dominion fleet in the history of the franchise. This says to me that she was a good Vorta, capable and trustworthy. Good Vortas do get clones made of them after they're lost...and when was Loriss lost? 40 years ago during the Dominion War. It's only natural the Dominion would make a clone of her.

That there are two Lorisses is a believable scenario, and it is something that can be explored as far as how the Dominion regard their Vorta. There was nothing defective with Second Wave's Loriss. She got shot putted through time by god-like aliens. How would the Dominion react to this? Would she be executed for her failure? Would she be executed because there already is a Loris? Or would the Dominion not care and simply keep the two Lorisses out of the same room to avoid confusion?

Personally, I liked Loriss, I liked how you could attempt to reason with her and even succeed after a fashion. She's a cute female Vorta. She was nice a female antagonist who was not explicitly evil. For me, she was a highlight in a really good set of episodes and that says something. And it just makes me sad to think she died off screen for some kind of joke.

What do I hope we get? The Loriss we know joins our crew for the next expansion, while Loriss 4 remains with and serves the Dominion. Now THAT would be awesome.

Alright, I'll entertain you some more.
No-console run and I didn't repair some minor damage from a couple of earlier Elite Crystalline runs because I was out of components on that character:
    20180127152238_1.jpg?raw=1
I died exactly once against the swarmers because I somehow managed to get about 12 on my tail at once and Gravity Well was still on cooldown. The rest was a very enthusiastic walk in the woods as Hellsing's Alucard with the exception of the Tzenkethi encounters because, due to lesser damage, it took longer to take them and their torpedoes down.

So basically, the Hur'q are only a threat to tier 5 ships with no console and CC abilities on cooldown, when they're in a group of at least 10.
Yet, the story wants to make you believe they manage to trash DS9, Tzenkethi, Bajoran and Alliance squadrons with ease.

That's my issue. The Tzenkethi ships are a bigger threat than them.
Obviously, having played the mission before, will give you the advantage of foreknowledge for strategies,
What kind of strategies would the swarmers even require compared to other weak annoying-to-target fighter types from the game? CC and AoE if your ship allows it. And not stopping moving.
but I'll suspect that you'll find the mission more of a challenge (not impossible, but more of a challenge) than you have with your previously listed builds :sunglasses:
Having a ship with less hull, less firepower and fewer consoles would make a mission in it more difficult? I'm truly baffled at that concept.

I liked it. The new enemy was interesting for their new tactic. I prefer it to immunity tactics of the tzenkethi.

Nah, you're thinking of the Scottish lass that was in Ops when Loriss and the First beamed over. Loriss survives and you can speak to her after the episode arc is finished.

Loriss transports aboard the Founders ship before giving Kar'ukan the order to surrender, then contacts you after the mission is over and you've killed Kar'ukan.

Anyone else notice the swarmers being immune to confuse abilities like Scramble Sensors? They were never affected by them during my last replay.

I'm also curious why the Romulan Republic ship about to die from Singularity problems has a female voice with the male captain image and (I think) a Tal Shiar uniform.

Loriss likely died in the Hur'q invasion of the Gamma Quadrant, rather then the Founders killing her.
Yeah, this seems far more likely. Of course, it could be that Loriss 4 was created because Loriss 3 was MIA and presumed dead. Wait... I'm not 100% sure the other Loriss was 3. Might have been 1 or 2 for all we know.

If Weyouns track record is anything to go by, I doubt it's very likely a Vorta could go for several decades without being replaced at least once. The first we see is probably either 1 or 2.

Just played/replayed the mission with my Orion slaver (first time with that character) who flies a Corsair. It was able to tank just as well as the Tzenkethi ships, and it took the barrage from the largest of the Tzenkethi ships, to actually bring it down. Only reason the battles took as long as they did, is that phaser turrets can only do so much with one copy of Rapid Fire  Absolutely loving how the Bajoran shield effect looks on the ship too... In the light it shows up, but in space/shadow, it's near invisible, almost as if it's a kind of basic/visual stealth-coating, so pretty ideal for a slaving vessel :sunglasses:

i just ran it on Kimberly. knowing a drain build would be a problem going in I took her in with a exotic build@ level 51 in a Dauntless sci ship. the lcdr tak and cdr sci are the perfect layout for this episode. I'd lay down GWIII, FAW, then TS3 on the clustered hurq. if they survived, then as i flew through CPB finished them off for the most part. with ResA particle exciter and RCS, i witshtood the Lizard tetryons really well. Hurqs could not stay on my tail was way to nimble for them, and if they DID manage it TS3 aft quantums discouraged them quickly used MK XII VR for the weapons.
