I thought letting the game pre-download (or what ever) was supposed to speed things up on the release date.
A Trill, a Gorn, a Jem'Hadar, Bejoran and a Voth walk into a bar, and the Bartender asks "What is this a Joke?"
"Nope, just my away team" the trill replies before ordering a round for the bar.

    It usually does. This time they had a lot of stuff in the patch besides the Event. there was a bunch of fixes and the new re-roll for crafting.

    If we hadn't prepatched, it would have still taken even longer as the prepatch was just as big as the patch today.
    Now a LTS and loving it.
    Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
    I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

    The slowness was apparently an issue their end as they fixed it many hours after the servers came back up. It shouldn't have been as slow as it was.

    I'm just glad I stock pile lobi, as I'm not sure between the dl time and days I don't have access to the net that I can get the 16 runs in.

    Servers seem slow and cranky tonight. booted me 3 time in 20 minutes.

    Although it appears that you need to download it on the release date, you aren't actually downloading it again. Your launcher connects to the server to apply your pre-downloaded files to patch the game. The files appear to be downloaded in a dormant state and the connection to the server tells the files where to go. This explains why almost nothing happened for me for about 5 minutes and all of a sudden my patch progress jumped about 3GB in one second. Now don't get me wrong, I have fast internet but I can't download at 3GB per second.

    The update went pretty slow for my standards and took about 10 minutes. For others it took hours. Obviously there was a problem on Cryptic's end
