My guess: 2018 Summer Event

Since majority of the Winter Events has been Breen ships. If Arc continues their trend, my guess that they would make a Vorgon Dreadnought [T6] or a Battleship/Cruiser [T6]. They would probably include a new version of probes as a console perhaps even make it into a link set with the Harasser Probe and Subphasic Defense Drone Deployment. If they categorize it as a Dreadnough, I would with the top part of the cruiser separates like the Galaxy Class or the Elachi Sheshar while just using one hangar bay.

What's your opinion about this?

    It's going to be a science ship, I can guarantee it, but it looks like it may have only 5 weapons.

    I'm really hoping for a proper T6 Risian Corvette, with pilot abilities.

    once did business with the nephew of the cousin of the stepsister of a friend of the secretary to the Consortium's chief accountant. Nephew, cousin, stepsister, friend. Yeah, that's right. And he told me, that the bajorans have new ships...

    A science vessel is just as likely. I mean look at other ships that were made playable. The Breen Carrier was made to be science heavy. And the Krenim Battleship... became a Science Vessel when we got the playable version.

    So just because its one kind of ship as an NPC doesn't mean squat.

    Well we already have the battle-cruiser in the form of the carrier we got this last year. So I could see it being the cruiser design though maybe as a science heavy cruiser/dreadnaught, or as a full on science ship. I could also see the ship having a support oriented probe-console, which when used deploys probes that debuff enemies an buffs allies for a duration of time.

    Any possibly we newer players can pickup older ships from previous events? I would really like to pickup the Risian Luxury Cruiser or Risian corvette at some point and not though the phenox boxes

    I want that too, but it's not going to happen since we still have a Vorgon ship left. Maybe if we're lucky they will do the T6 Risian Corvette in 2019.

    Yeah but but this "rule of three" everyone believes in, they still owe us a Risian science ship.

    I doubt it'll be another Vorgon ship. We left that story behind a while ago.

    The games story has nothing to do with it, the Vorgon's are a theme for Summer event in the same sense that the Breen are a theme for the Winter event, the only difference is summer event has had more aliens being a part of its theme besides for the natives. In the TNG series Risa had Vorgons and Ferengi involved with it.

    The Vorgons were only involved with Risa when the game's story led them there. Vorgons don't just go to Risa, since they've only ever gone there when the planet was involved in the Temporal Cold War, which /just so happened/ to be the focus of the story close to the times when those ships were made.

    As for the Ferengi: No, they aren't really involved with the story, but neither were the Risians, which can easily be argued as the devs simply taking a shift in focus as to what ships they thought they wanted to give us. At first they were giving us whatever they felt like, and now the Lohlunat ships have taken a turn to being more like the Anniversary ships.

    There was an episode of STTNG where Picard was on Risa and a Ferengi and two Vorgons were involved in it, and the games story has an adaption of that episode in a sort of prequel and sequel of it at the same time since time was involved. What I am saying is that the main reason they involved Ferengi and Vorgon ships for the summer event was because of this STTNG episode.

    I didn't miss anything. STO explained WHY the Vorgons when to Risa: because it was involved in the Temporal Cold War. The Risa ships were likely chosen to include that part of the story in the event. A nod to continuity while still staying relevant to the story.

    What I am trying to say is just because the games story no longer involves them doesn't mean they are going to stop adding any of their remaining ships to the event as a prize, as long as they were involved in one of the Star Trek shows particularly Risa based episodes then they can still add any of their ships to the event. We were still getting Breen ships for Winter event long after the Breen arc of the story was completed. But yes they could drop them if they wanted to and maybe even add any remaining ships as lockbox ships or whatever else.

    The short answer is no. That's why the Phoenix boxes were introduced in the first place. The Account unlock is the bonus reward for being present and playing during the actual event.

    ...And here is the English page for Anniversary ship ... I see one problem - the console got passive +Phaser Damage - and it will be (almost sure about it) in set with gear on future Megapack - which will be 3 ships for each faction Fed, Romulan and KDF - and all will get gear, that when collected to whole set - will have at least 1 console with +Phaser damage bonus...

    Maquis raider as summer event ship would be very nice

      Oh yes, just what these forums would need is a 3rd tac ship in a row... I love a good forum fire but I think that would get to be a bit too much.

      Funny thing is, as I recall noting elsewhere, with the introduction of vanity-only shields, a win-win solution of sorts presents itself...

      • make all event ship projects freely queueable in any iteration of that event, with the ships being account unlocks;
      • projects queued in their debut year in fact reward two items as account unlocks: the ship proper, and a vanity shield specifically for said ship. The same project queued in a subsequent event only rewards the ship;
      • after the debut event concludes, the vanity shield drops into the Phoenix store.

      This presents not only an early-bird bonus (the vanity shield) but provides fodder for the 'metrics' supposedly so highly coveted by certain of the suit-wearing set in the form of folks using alt operators to get caught up on old projects... and for those old projects, many would then be interested in buying the ship-specific vanity shield (which is something the art team can have fun with).

      Well for now the set has a weapon/energy type boost for the 2-piece set. Maybe the three piece might be either be a reduction on cool-down of the probes, or a increase of the duration of the probes. Could even be a set bonus that improves/adds additional effects to what the probes do.

      The same could be said for quite a few ships on all sides, especially the Pilot ships. Though Roms take the trophy for wings. There might be some 'reason' for the big wings, having the nacelles on the end or the weapons but I don't like them, it just makes the ship a bigger target and a chance to lose the nacelle/weapon on the end of the wing if they take enough damage (try replicating that lol).

      I don't mind the event ship I think with different shields from Reps it could look quite nice but, yeah, not a fan of wings (though they could have a 'reason' for its wing too).

      Damn forum tried to swallow my post and I didn't even edit it!!!1!

      Romulans are all about that raven thing, so they model their ships along those lines. Mogai (R.R.W. Flappy Bird) is one of my favourites.

      I actually have an issue with fed ships structural weaknesses by design. Nacelles on thin stalks? Silly feds, that's why I don't play you.
    • echattyechatty Member Posts: 5,917 Arc User
      Exactly. Fed ships aren't exactly the poster children for sensible construction.

      I couldn't help but chuckle at this observation, particularly when there is an actual cutting beam available as a weapon...

      Even before adding any of the many special shield visuals, I'm curious as to how customizable it is in its own right; perhaps one hull variant does something about those black... sensor arrays? split-deflector?... that makes it look like an upscaled small craft.
