Miracle Worker Ships..... What the hell??

olddad78#2157 olddad78 Member Posts: 43 Arc User
Can anyone please tell me are these ships any better than any other ships? Why in the hell would somebody call them "Miracle Worker" traits. If i was a designer coming out with a new character trait slot I dang sure wouldnt call it Miracke Worker, or Star Twinkler, or anything else that didnt let universe know what was flying into town! I would call it something badass like Harvenger of Death! or Black hole of Pain! Something that lets every unfortunate soul that sees me know, Im getting ready to whoop somebody's TRIBBLE!!!

I would rush right out and buy that! I havent knocked anyone over yet to pick up my new Miracle Worker ship...

But.... Maybe its called Miracle Worker because when you fly it, somehow there is no more bugs, glitches, maybe it actually fly's a full sector forward without bouncing 2 back? Or maybe all the seats allow you to use the ability you have slotted in it! Unlike my NX Refit i worked and saved so hard for. It has a tac/pilot seat that unfortunately doesnt allow you to activate the pilot abilities. Are they coming out with a Miracle NX refit? As in its a Miracle it actually works as supposed too?

I do however agree that the in-lore designation of "Miracle Worker Cruiser" is weird. I would have chosen the term "Utility Cruiser" in-universe, like the Pioneer T1. So "Scott-class Utility Cruiser" instead of MWC.

I hear what your saying.... But are we talking about the same game? On Xbox STO you have basically 2 types of gameplay, you can run around on foot playing as your designed character, or you can fly around space in your Ship. If you choose to play on foot you only have the options to equip Guns, shields, body armor, and kits that either do damage or protect you from something that is damaging you. If you fly around in your ship, its pretty much along the same line, you can only equip your ship with weapons, and shields, armor, deflectors, etc. What im saying is there are no communication slots, traits or anything of the sort that im aware of. This game is set up to kick some butt!

In either case if you choose to play on the ground, or play in space you can only equip items that damage, and protect you from damage. There is no other way to play the game that im aware of. I have not won anything cool or gained a single level from talking, communicating, or repairing anything. Now I know there are missions you talk to people, then repair something for them however in order to get back and collect your prize 99% of the time you have to fight your way back...

So, I stand by my original post. In the game STO, a new ship called something badass, versus something not is much cooler

Well, I suppose if badass is your flavor, then FED is simply the wrong dish for you ;-)

I have to admit, though, that the "We Are Smart Space Set", which comes with the Miracle Worker ships, sounds rather... dumb :#

If anything, I think the title is more the colloquialism used by those who have been around the ships in-lore

Please make a sample tree for black hole of pain. "Miracle worker" is an entire tree of skills and abilities after all.

I do like the Romulan and KDF ships the most, with the right space set they can be Harbingers of Death! Fed is ok but its 2 CC's stacked and I didnt like their looks much. I would have have just make a CC with 4 nacelles, now that would have been bad TRIBBLE.
    Positive thoughts.

Fed MW ships should split into two ships. That's a missed opportunity here.

I should probly make another post for this question, but you all seem like knowledgeable players so possibly someone knows this answer.

On ship builds (I typically only run ships with 5fore 3 AFT) how many Torpedo's equipped on fore are efficient? Meaning how many will fire a spread at 5 differ targets when i select Spread 3? I ask because i used to run 2 torps, but i could visibly tell that only one would fire a spread?

You know me being the Harvinger of Death wants to blow some TRIBBLE up.... But the engineer side wants to maximize and only use what will actually apply. Also, I have noticed all torps (ive equipped up to 3 on fore) will fire single rounds. But its when i select my officer abilities im asking about. If i use 2 torps and everytime i use Spread 3 only one fires a spread, i dont think anymore than one is worth equipping. At that point I would rather have another cannon, or beam.

    Thanks

Well i have 5 characters, my main is a fed. Then other than that I have 1 more fed, 2 KDF's and 1 Rmln. I have pretty much every ship. I play this game like some kinda OCD madman with a coke problem.... Of course i dont have either, but good grief if im home this game is on!

But with that being said I still havent mastered the DPS idea. I dont really read the stats. Im more into the seating on the ships, and any ship special powers, weapons, consoles. I totally know character + ship + weapon + consoles = DPS, and the more DPS the better. But rather than dive into all that math (which i love math) to judge my set uo ive just lined up in front of NPC ships and figured out which combo/type of weapons kill them the fastest.

As i continue playing I know ive about went as far as I can go with my method. If im gonna go to next level of play its time to sort this whole dps thing out. As of right this moment im playing with my 2nd fed character, running with nx refit from lobi store. Its the smallest ship there are, but this thing packs one hell of a punch. It has 5/2 weapon arrangement. I have 4 dual heavy cannons (Diffusive Teryon XIV, and a gravitron torp. On the rear I have 2 omni's a tetryon, and kinetic cutting beam. The seating is one of better ones for how i play. I pretty much always set my seats up like ive listed below. Of course all ships have a lil differ seating, but the ones i typically play the most have similar type seating, or maybe i should say i can set my abilities up pretty much the same. Below is how i pretty much always run. Please feel free to tare me apart. I certainly need some schooling, and can handle criticism/advice.

    Nx has 5seats
    1st is Universal/Temp ops Commander
    1-Tac Team1
    2- Overload2
    3- Overload3

    2nd seat is Commander Tac
    1- Kemocite laced1
    2- Spread2
    3- Spread3
    4- Rapid fire 3

    3rd seat is Leutinant Tac/Pilot
    1- Fire Will1
    2 -Rapid Fire1

4rd seat is Lt. Commander Engineer
    1- Emergency power shields1
    2- Emergency power weapons2
    3- Reverse Shield Polarity2

    5th seat is Ensign Science
    1- Hazard Emitters1

Like is said this how i pretty much set all my ships up i always have Spread 2&3, Rapid Fire 3&1
Then anytime i can because a particular ship allows a 3rd tac seat i always run Overload 3 or2 pending how many abilities the 3rd tac seat allows, and Fire at Will. With the Nx refit im running now this works awesome! Nothing really steps on each other. Meaning i can pull up and hit spread3, rapid fire3, and overload3 all at sametime, then as there recharging, i can select the 2nd tier of them each. And just as they end, i can go back and start over!
So, if you think this is dumb, or there is a better way... IM ALL EARS!!

Thanks i will give it a try.... Also, im running a Engineer Character at moment. I will say after maxing out 2tac characters, and 2sci characters, I think Engineers are the best. I really dont know how or why, but i dont run into cooldown issues, or conflicts. And on my rear i do have a tetryon omni, along with KCB. I keep my subsystem on Shields to divert the most power there, and yet my weapon subsystem stays above 100 and goes up to 150. Shields usually stay between 100-125. I select many traits to boost subsytems. that coupled with my engineers ability to boost all systems +25, and -100 weapon cost keeps me firing on all cylinders!

But ya i really dont have cooldown issues. I pull up and select Overload3, Spread3, Rapid fire3, and Tac Team1, along with my engineer abilities, EPS overflow, all at once. I then launch a super beam, a volley of torps, and a good round of cannons. As soin as im done with that i then select Overliad2, Spread2, and Rapid Fire1 at the sametime. Then once ive fired all that my Spread, overload, and Rapid 3's have all recharged, so I just start over! But usually everything around me is dead by then......My Gravimetric does about 8,000 Kinetic dmg + 1,000 Dps, my cannons are all 4 doing 1,600-1,900Dmg +1,200-1,500 Dps pending what all is in effect, both my omni's on rear my Tetryon does 1,200 +1,000 Dps, and KCB, does 1,600 + 1,200 Dps base, then pending Overload 2 or 3 they go up from there!

I do have ships were i run turrets on rear. But if you are certain i can do more dmg with a XIV Turret, versus these 2 omni's i currently have on rear I will give it a try!

    Thanks!

Just wanted to add on my Tac consoles im running 5 Tetryon Pulse Generators XIV, all giving 35.6%...
I couldnt get Epic, i tried several times... But to me 35.6% is close enough to epic at 37.5% that i keep em and run em. But they boost both my cannons, and my tetryon omni.....

Atleast i think they do..... It appears my Tetryon omni is boosted way more than it normally is.

Thanks man! Im gonna give it a good go! And when i say good go, i mean im gonna mash this game for about 72hrs starting tomorrow around 5pmish. lol
Ur right Fire At Will is pretty much a wasted slot. I only use it when i find myself surrounded.... But i try very hard to not allow myself to get surrounded. Im much better firing head on with 4 cannons with only a 45º arc. Than at my side. Which is pretty much why i equip the 2 omni's to begin with. So im gonna equip 2 turrets with atleast (Cntrl+dmg) hopefully i can come up with a couple that has (dmg+2, or dmg+3) Somewhere in my arsenal, bank, or account bank between all my characters. Im gonna shake the 3rd tac officer, switch with Engineer, and get higher EPW, and i will use APB...
For engine power ive been using batteries which kinda sux waiting on that recharge, but this will be much more efficent im certain.

I will let you know how it goes for me.

I own miracle warbirds...and to be honest the only good one is the tactical variant in my opinion.
    You must like cruisers...slow beasts.
The miracle ship is not bad, but not super.
On another character i own the kelvin timeline dreadnought....and THAT is a super ship.

Are miracle ships a "must to have"? Not in my opinion. But...on romulan side miracle warbirds are the closest d'deridex style with good stats. So it was worth to get for me.

Cool, thanks for the comment! Thats pretty much what i was wanting to know in regards to the Miracle ships. "Are they any must haves" Thats such a shame that there not any. I both understand and appreciate STO trying to keep everything equal, not allow something to become dominant. But on the other hand really what good is it to come out with something new, if its pretty much the same as the other ships you brought out 10yrs ago. In my humble opinion, it dont take many bonehead decisions like that to cause a game to lose its luster, and go stale reallllly quick.

But ya for most part I play with Barge Boats, the ones that takes 5 sectors to turn around. I do play with others, to be honest I play with them all. At the moment im bouncing back and forth between NX refit, and Xindi Reptilian Sistruss Escort. They are both small agile ships that pack a hell of a punch. My fave ships this week are.. Fed Kelvin Dreadnaught, (it maybe my fave of all) Tal-Shiar Aapted Battle cruser, Husnock, D9, Arbiter, Presidium, and the 2 im playin with now NX refit, and Xindi Sistruss. oh, and i really the rmln warbirds, Scimitar, and the other 2 that came in the pack. I also like the Dyson ships, but they could of been much better in my opinion, I also like the Temporal Ships, they are really fun! I also have both Jemhadar cruisers that are fun, and the Hazari destroyer thats a badass ship... those are pretty much all my faves... I know im ridiculous, but buying every ship on the game is just as fun and addictive as the gameplay itself to me. Im an old trek fan. lol..... I wouldnt call myself a trekkie, but ive watched every episode of every season, along with every movie ever made with the name Star Trek on it. Somehow i manage to consider myself more just a fan of outerspace, than a trekkie. I maybe in denial????

This is why things don't get fixed. People go to complain about bugs instad of reporting them.

No, it doesn't matter if you've already reported them. Report the bugs again instead of coming here to complain. Every single time you think about complaining, file a bug report instead. Because unless there are bugs directly preventing you from reporting, there is absolutely no excuse to complain about any bugs at all.

There was a similar bug on the Nandi before. Couldn't use any Pilot abilities. But there were enough reports(including a few I personally filed) that it got fixed. Go do the same instead of effectively not helping.

What the heck are you the Forum Police? Im really sorry your game has bugs that arent getting fixed. I would kindly suggest you voice that concern with ARC. Although, i will listen if it makes you feel better. But im just the cunsumer chief. Im the guy that plays the game (like you)........ I have no bearing, decision making, or inside knowledge of who, what, or how Arc goes about there quality control of there products. But bud if i was your bug would be the first i fixed. i promise!

Well there you go. That just shows how much i have to do with fixing bugs. So, i made comment on a forum thats not even owned by the game maker, and this guy tells me that my comment is the reason why his game has bugs....

Oh brother! Please BEAM ME UP NEXT SCOTTY!!
