Hello fellow STO players,

I'm happy to inform all of you that Priority One Podcast will be interviewing Maria Rosseau, Star Trek Online's Producer (A.K.A. @ZeroniousRex), Al Rivera, Star Trek Online's Lead Designer (A.K.A. @CaptainGeko) and Stephen Ricossa, Star Trek Online's Executive Producer (A.K.A. @salamiinferno) tomorrow, December 15th.

As always when we have interviews such as this we would like to reach out to you, the STO Community for questions that you would like us to ask. Please keep in mind that this is a very high level interview, so questions on things like Art, UI or Ships etc will likely not get answered. As always we will try and get through as many questions as possible but please keep in mind that we will not be able to get to all questions as we have a limited amount of time for this interview.

I want to thank all of you who reply to this post in advance and we will do our best to get as many questions answered as is possible. This interview will be available to the public on Friday, December 22nd at http://priorityonepodcast.com/

PVP battlezones. Free for all and/or for faction against faction. Why not? Server costs? Whining? Not enough people interested? No rewards necessary. Just go in for battle. I rarely get to play PVP, but when I do, it gets the ol’ adrenaline pumping.

Are you planning to do anything about master keys? The lock boxes fall like rain, but the keys are pricey and one use only. This is a problem!

Secondly, why can't ground combat pets stay summoned until they die (or until mission end or area change)?

Voyager fans got a full season and expansion treat with Delta Rising. Any plans for TNG or DS9 fans with similar style seasons and expansions?

I have too many pets. There isn’t enough room for them and I have maxed out my inventory slots. Any chance you could make us a separate pet tab with 50-100 slots?

Serious question: Are there any big design decisions or story arc movements, currently live in game, that you wish had been done another way?

Silly question: Who has the best desk in the studio? Does this desk contain consumables that can be raided? Have any of you raided it recently? What raiding strategies can you share? If the desk owner is listening, feel free to lie to preserve your secrets.

General comment: Thanks again for seeing the Foundry through its recent rough patch.

#1) Are there any plans to redo PvE queue rewards to get people engaged in the queues? Almost everything PvE queues currently offer is made easily available from other sources, resulting in people simply not playing most of the queues. Maybe add some gear or items available exclusively as chance drops at the end of queues like we had before the reputation revamp with the Omega stuff?

#2) Any update on the scoreboard or competitive marks for PvP queues? The scoreboard has been missing most of the year and competitive marks haven't been dropping at all from actual PvP queues.

any plans to let us recolor our ground weapons, not the beam/bolt color but the gun itself and any plans to let us set uniforms for npc on our ships? also any headgear like caps in the works?

    1. What is the "open for public" solution to tweak the queues into being more available (redesign requirements, increase rewards, add boff filler slots?)
    2. Shouldn't the new raider (T6 Breen) come with an Experimental Weapon of its own (aka the old Heavy Weapon)?
    3. Would there be a "fix" for the fact that Alien class does have a total of 20(10/10) available traits, while canon classes have 19? (9/9 and a specific trait that is mostly ground). Should we be punished marginally for picking pre-made classes?
    4. When will the Season 15 pop-up and can we expect another free toon slot and a new recruitment event?
    5. What would the solution be with new ground weaponry? I agree that there's plenty to choose from, but some alternatives are more than welcome, especially when it comes to specialized types of weapons, especially types of weapons that would benefit specific classes/builds?
    6. Is having a higher base total of available (active) boffs a viable design choice atm? (aka 4 ground+5 space = 9 base boff slots?)

I'd also like to appreciate and applaud the ideas that have pressed this game further this far and the hard work brought into the title.

Victory is Life! I mean, probably... I'm really just speculating on the tiny scraps we have but I don't see any other option.

any new stuff for Foundry soon?

After over three years we still miss elite versions of the most popular PvE maps. Would it be possible to finally include them without changing the core mechanics of the respective stages?

If the answer is “no” then please ask:

    Why?

    Thank you.

Are you going to address the ship inequality in terms of statistical balance. It makes no sense for small ships (such as the T6 NX, Miranda, Connie etc) to have anywhere near the HP of ships many, many times their size. Not to mention the same amount of Weapon Hardpoints or even Power Output. I cannot see how it can be justified a T6 Connie can match a Vengance, or even the Universe Class ships when they all have the same level of tech!

Building on this: if not, could we at least see a fix for the accolades and the now unobtainable uniforms?

One question of my own is the following:

Are there any plans to make changes to loot drops / do an inventory revamp? Like removing food stuff and other consumables that can also be replicated to reduce the clogging up of players' inventories with mostly useless items and thereby improve player experience?

I also have one storyline-related question:

Will the Tzenkethi and Drantzuuli storyline take as long to unfold as the Iconian one? Or will we see more different storylines instead of one overarching story that will go on for years?

Yep, I posted a whole thread on this recently. Death Match pvp challenge map, doesn't even need to be a new map, just let us make a free for all battle or something other than two teams.

    Hey everyone,

I just wanted to make another post to say that any questions beyond this point will not get included in the interview. I would also like to thank everyone again who took the time to post up questions. We will try our best to get as many of them answered as possible. This interview will be available next Friday, the 22nd of December at http://priorityonepodcast.com/ in episode 347.

Can we bring back the cluster exploration missions? It was something nice to do outside of story missions and pve.

The Iconian One was short, only about 7 missions. The Tzenkethi one has been said to take us up to the next expansion, which is next summer.

What I meant was that the Iconian storyline (them influencing other species such as the Undine and thereby partly causing the Klingon-Federation war, using the Tal Shiar as a proxy and hugely influencing the entire Romulan faction etc.) had been running for five years or so.

I wasn't specifically referring to the amount of episodes in the Iconian arc, but rather how the Iconians had been on the background for a very, very long time and influencing the events of many other story arcs.

In regards to that, Cryptic has said in the past they have no plans for something like "Super Iconians" who are behind everything... behind everything, and that from here on they had planed for smaller stories. Which is why the Temporal Cold war arc was only a few missions long.

Yes, I think you've said so before. Just wasn't entirely sure I remembered it correctly.

    Thanks for the info.

so many questions Id ask but honestly, atm the one that jumps out at me is

Are you aware of exactly how many times there are where you've paid for voice work and we never hear it? There are so many broken audio points, even some broken cinematics with incorrect visuals. It makes one wonder if you ever actually play your own game at all.
