Separate list for ships (definitely)
Automatically separate stacks into individual items to be sold on the Exchange (desired)
Better search engine (able to handle misspelling)
Filters for Duty Officers traits (maybe)
Possibly make the Exchange hypertext oriented? (paradigm shift?)

They can't even handle out-of-order tokens right now. Try searching for "beam array phaser". It won't work; you have to search for "phaser beam array". You have to type an exact substring of the item name into the search box.
I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "hypertext". They are clearly already using some kind of rich-text format to display bold text, italics, different font sizes, etc. What else do you want? Links? In that case, what would be linked?
It's possible that the term you're looking for is not "hypertext", but "full-text search". In that case, I agree. The descriptions of items should be indexed, but it's probably more important to index the item type, such as "tactical bridge officer" or "projectile weapons officer", the rarity of the item, and important stats like the traits of boffs and doffs. In case it's not clear what I mean, the item type, rarity, and traits should be searchable via the search box; you shouldn't need to click on drop-down lists or check boxes in order to narrow down your search.
I've suggested before that they rebuild the search engine using open source tools like Lucene or Sphinx, but integrating that into the existing Exchange is probably a pipe dream, considering how sparingly they use their programmer time. There are bugs in this game that go back years, and new ones added each release — new bugs that we report on Tribble, but go live to Holodeck anyway. For example, in Season 14, we got flickering and overly dark weapons and other objects. They haven't done a thing about it; it's not even in the known issues.

(By the way, search engines and databases are usually considered different things. Though some databases may provide the ability to do full-text searches, this is usually considered a separate feature from regular database queries.)
You know, boff slots, character slots, inventory/bank expansions, doff expansions, captain renames, captain retrains, ecetera.
Never made sense that these couldn't be sold on the exchange. Someone still has to buy them from the C-Store, in order to post them on the exchange.
As far as GPL goes. Yeah, we've been saying they could have done better there. One of my suggestions, was to take the consumables, which you can find in the dil and lobi store and put them on the Latinum Vendor. Right now my main has the emote, outfit and all the trophies. I still roughly have 5.5 million latinum and nothing worth while to spend it on. S ot it just builds up.

No has suggested the use of Zen on the Exchange. Dilithium, Lobi, and GPL, I could see the use for there. Though with Dil and Lobi, you can already change them in to EC using things in the stores for them. The consumables.
The only thing that been suggested there, was mine. Which is basically allowing people to sell everything in the Services tab of the C-Store on the exchange. Or the outfits.
It never made sense to me. We know they can make single character unlocks out of all of that. The lobi and event stores are proof of this. The ships are fine the way they are.
I mean think about it. You're wanting to redo your skills, you don't have the money, or dilihium to get the zen for. But being able to trot off to the exchange and buy a Captain Retrain token. Or more inventory space. It wouldn't hurt anything. Actually it would be beneficial overall. As I said, someone still has to buy these things from the C-Store. So either way, Cryptic gets paid for them.
Come quickly to taehsong's table and you'll see it there first.
I do agree on services selling on the exchange also. I don't see any harm since they're getting real money for it in the first place.
