23'rd Century Fed Gear

kazisakikazisaki Member Posts: 7 Arc User
would anyone else like to see them to give the 23'rd century style Photon Torpedos and Phasers a way of differentiating them aside from just the icons? because at the moment it is difficult to tell them apart (aside from the color of course) or find them through the exchange since their just titled as phasers and photon torpedos. id also love to see more of the retro ship gear in general. thoughts?

agreed with more retro gear, but when fired the TOS photon looks different in color and form (dripping tail for instance) then a standard photon, they also sound (phasers and torpedos) different. I would agree the titles could use a little work though... maybe add (23c.) perhaps... as a matter of course though i've been upgrading the gear rewarded from the tutorial honestly....

This is a majorly valid point. I think we should be able to buy some of the basic equipment and the varieties as well such as DHCs etc. It would make it a whole lot easier to find in the exchange as well.

Do you get to keep your 23rd c. gear when you finish Agents of Yesterday?

Yes, you keep everything. You can even replay those missions again to get most of the rewards at higher mark. Though for some reason the TOS Dual Cannons are not offered on replays of the final mission of the AoY alternate starting experience, though you can upgrade them with normal weapon upgrades if you want.

    Including the uniform?
Can you wear the uniform in the regular 2410 game?

Yes, my AoY toon is still wearing the same outfit. Do note that your Bridge Officers also keep their outfits too, but you'd need to buy the TOS uniforms pack if you want to have 25C BOffs in those same outfits.

Addendum: Once you get sent to the 25th Century, it will instruct you to go to the tailor for a change of uniform, but you only have to open the Tailor interface and do need not actually change your outfit if you desire. You can also change back to the TOS outfit if you do update your look.

Fleet versions of the TOS weapons are available in the K13 holding, if you're in a Fleet with it upgraded. You can also get some nice TOS weapons from replays of Everything Old and Night of the Comet in the Devidian arc.

Yeah, though it's worth noting that the 'NotC' Phaser Rifle is entirely different from other 23c. Phaser Rifles - whereas others have a 'sniper shot' exploit secondary, the 'NotC' version has a unique AoE 'Nadion Burst' exploit secondary.

Quite true. And when AoY was released, I was sorry (at first) that the secondary fire mode in the new ones, as they didn't have the Nadion Burst of the NotC ones. Then I realized you can carry them both, and switch back and forth, treating it as another setting on your rifle. Same with the Wide-Angle and Stun versions of the Types 1 and 2 phasers. In effect, we now have phasers with 3 settings. :)

I still like the NotC Nadion Type 3's better, though.

    [Edit: for clarity.]
