Does anyone else have colony provisions that you can't use?

I am slowly building up colony provisions that I can't donate. I used to have four of each type and now I have eight. I assume this is some kind of bug they will fox sometime down the road?

    They won't let you donate any unless you have at least 10 of that type on hand. On the plus side, it will give you credit for donating 10, even if you only donate 6.
    This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.

    The other plus side is that you can sell them for a minuscule amount of EC.

    Colony provisions are worth 3.3 fleet credits each, so you aren't allowed to donate less than 10 at a time. The exception to that is if a project requires <10 to be completed, in which case you can donate the reduced amount and get full credit for 10.

    This is no different than the .01 fleet credits that EC is worth and the required minimum donation of 100 EC at a time. Again if <100 is required to finish a project it will allow you to donate that lower number and give you credit for a full 100.

    The reason people don't notice the mechanic in the second instance is because EC is not stored in inventory and we also use it for much more than just donating to fleet, so no one really notices 'leftover' EC like they do colony provisions. Rest assured though, the mechanic is identical and has been in game for some time now, there is nothing new or weird going on here.
