Facility 4028 and BOFF pathing

There is this horrific boss that tends to be named DOOR. While I am unsure what the truly evil stats on this boss happen to be, it can fully prevent any bridge officer from taking the path through to the next room.

Yes, I know you can do it without a BOFF present, but that is not the point. The point is how the one BOFF simply cannot get through a doorway. Can someone please take a look at this, because it's happening way too often.

It has been like that for quite a while now. But I agree it is annoying and not the only mission it happens on
  • I tried coaxing my BOFF through with everything from kind words to mean words...............nothing! I vote for fixing/addressing this please. One of my fav episodes!

Did you try drizzling honey on the floor and seeing if it would follow it?

The problem in 4028 appears to be that for some odd reason the voorcha (I forget his name) is not allowed to get too close to your BoFF. Meanwhile, for some strange reason, your BoFF is not allowed to go through the door until after the voorcha does. When you approach the door, your BoFF, following you at the standard distance, is too close to the door when it opens to allow the voorcha to pass, resulting in a stale mate. The voorcha wants through the door but can't due to the proximity of your BoFF, your BoFF wants through the door but can't until after the voorcha does.

Most often, they are now stuck there for the duration, although dying and respawning does work it's not a feasible option. Sometimes, going back into the previous room and as far from the doorway as possible, they will follow, clearing the doorway, you can then send your BoFF to go wait in the corner until everyone else has gotten through the door. When I remember to do it, I have had success with the doors by posting my BoFF in the far corner of the room before going anywhere near the door. After going through the door and making sure the voorcha has followed, I then release my BoFF and she comes through the door just fine.

A similar problem occurs with installation 18, mostly with the first two doors after the initial elevator. It seems that your BoFFs can not go through the door other than one at a time and none of them can go through if another is too close to the doorway. Would be no problem except that the two closest behind you are already close enough to trigger the "thou shalt not pass" coding when the door first opens. To compound the problem, it seems that when the door opens, the system randomly decides which BoFF has to pass through in which order. Sending them one at a time as far away from the door as possible usually works. The last one remaining usually walks right on through. You can then release them one at a time and they usually make it. I emphasize the one at a time as in my experience trying to send them away as a group usually does nothing, and releasing them as a group after getting the first through the door just results in the remaining three causing yet another "thou shall not pass" code.

Since I have yet to see it anywhere, I now lay claim to the honor of christening this the "Gandalf" bug.

Installation 18 I can solve, though, with creative uses of the "stand here" command set. The ones that made it through the DOOR boss get to relax while I go play "Save the Stupids."

This just doesn't happen in 4028, no matter how much I try. But I do agree that both episodes have DOOR bosses that our BOFFs just can't win against.

Well, it's time to send ANOTHER ALT into Facility 4028...twice. If it weren't for the BOFF and roleplay JH set, I'd never set foot in there.

My BOFF is baffled by the DOOR BOSS once again... BOFF pathing is a huge issue here.

The complaint isn't that the mission is too hard. Don't try and make it into that. THE ISSUE IS THAT BOFFS KEEP HAVING ISSUES WITH DOORS.

EDIT: On the way out, BOFFs do reappear. So far...the BOFF has not succumbed to this mysterious raid boss called DOOR.

Yeah, this is a bad one. I teamed up with Frtoaster the last time, that helped. The respawn points are terrible on the mission, too...having to navigate all the way back through all the doors.
