How do you kill Daemosh Destroyer?
This is what pisses me off about STO, i have the cash to buy the ship and most powerful weapons yet it does me no good to buy a T6 God ship with week equipment, i should also be able to buy my choice of weapon flavor Epic mkXIV.
At this rate ill have to just do tour the galaxy for a few months untill i have enough energy credits to buy them on the exchange, i justt think its stupid, im drowning in Dilithium & Zen, yet im still in a weak ship & weapons.

    By firing at at until it blows up, like everything else. When it does the Time Slip you have to kill the duplicate first, it can't do time slip that often.

    Try searching how to make EC, flying all round the galaxy is not a good option.

    I think first of all if you want help you need to tell us what you are flying and how. So what sort of ship are you in, what type of build (all beams, science magic, torp boat, cloaking BoP etc?).
    There could be something really simple you are doing or not doing that we can help you with, right now we have nothing to go on.

    Different flavours for the energy weapons all have different procs on them. The bog-standard AP are probably the best based off cost of getting them as you can farm them from mission rewards. However you may find you get a good bunch whilst working through the reputations as the Voth rep will give these in daily boxes. They are not great but they are free(ish) at least.

    Depends on your budget though tbh, and exactly where you want to end up. I've got little experience with that Kahless warship though so others can advise better there.

    Also, any reason why you are going the AP route?

    Mk 10s may be a factor if you're at 60 - a big component of damage scaling is at each mark. But what consoles and power settings also have an effect.

    Each beam type has an effect; antiproton comes with its own critical serverity boost by standard (phaser has a stun chance, disruptor a chance to weaken the enemy)

    While Herald and Delphic use antiproton consoles and effect boosts, their proc is different - delphic has a chance to boost crit chance and serverity, Herald ups your weapon damage in a stacking manner.

    But basically..Vanilla AP has a constant +20% crit sev
    Hearld AP = +7% Bonus Energy Damage (stacks 3x)
    Delphic AP= +10% Weapon Crit Chance +10% Weapon Crit Severity for 5 sec

    Personally..I like Fluidic AP..(goes with my exotics, the proc does).

    I just buy Lockbox weapons at low MKs and upgrade them..Sometimes I just go [Crtdx2] [crth] (ok mods) usually cheap enough on the exchange

    Your fleet should say what the conditions for promotion are, usually one or two promotions and you can buy what you can afford from fleet stores. If you think you're over due promotion mail the fleet higherups, if no joy go join another fleet.

    Mk10 weapons is underpowered for level 60, mk12 blues are usually pretty cheap on the exchange however right no tetryon beam weapons are oddly expensive.. DBB on a slow turning ship pretty much demands you have turn rate boosting gear. Nice but cheap options include freebie Martok console and fairly cheap conductive rcs.

    Blue hocky stick is the Herald gun, comes in regular and lobi store versions, one shot kills are people hitting an exposed target with the alt fire most likely using high density version. Using the expose/exploit mechanism does not require a 2m EC herald hockey stick, just abilities and weapons that generate exposes on bad guys and high density, split beam or snip rifles to take advantage of them.

    Have you been doing your reputations? If you have, then pick a reputation with the types of weapons you want to use and start running the hourly rep. Eventually, you will get a full set of beams or cannons or what have you at Mk XI or XII that you can use. If the box you receive doesn't come with the weapon you want, grind it up and try again in an hour. It's time-consuming, but it's less costly than buying weapons at Mk XII VR off the exchange.

    Martok console from doing the mission Brushfire. The Harpang really is not somthing people use at higher levels.

    For a long time now missions tend to come with nice gear, just look at the sections for mission rewards:

    Pryor what mission are you up to?
    Can you do a quick list of ship gear: engine, deflector, core, shields, consoles and weapons. Boff abilities and what space doffs are active. It really sounds like a bit of guidance will save you a lot of trial and error and dil.

    High end weapons aren't sold in the C-Store for this exact reason.

    There is no nice way to put this so sorry for being so blunt.. but this process is there to protect players like you from themselves. You're not struggling because you have bad gear, you're struggling because you're using a poor build and bad tactics. There is nothing.. and I mean NOTHING in this game that requires anywhere near Mark XIV Epic Weapons to take down. Especially story line content, the story line content is the easiest content in the game by a mile and all these problems you keep having are simply baffling.

    The reason that you can't just go buy the best items is because players like you would drop loads of cash and then be enraged when they still struggled. Good gear will not fix poor tactics, good gear will not fix a bad build. I know you probably think I'm insulting you, but I'm trying to just give it to you straight and save you time and money.

    Your best bet is to let us know what ship you're currently using, what gear are you using? what build? You should head over to STO Academy and go to the skill planner. Pick the ship you're using and fill everything in, then post the link here so we can see your build.

    I can promise you that we can give you a build that will absolutely destroy any mission content in the game without spending a cent. If you already have a nice T6 ship then all the better. If you're struggling with content, fix your build, fix your tactics..

    Don't just start throwing money at it, you will only end up frustrated and feeling ripped off.

    The upgrade system is worth a read-through; it's pretty simple to get started in, you can craft upgrades if your R&D is at the right levels, or buy off the exchagne.

    Remember the Reddit and the Wiki are kept up by dedicated players who spend their own personal time to put this information on those sites.

    Sub pages like that are hard to remember to update (Mostly ue to those being "special pages" someone was keeping track of but has since stopped playing). However, the "Equipment Sets in Star Trek Online" ( very Bottom of most set pages) are added to all the equipment pages and are typically the most up to date link for the wiki (with regards to gear)

    If so this is not a great damage dealing ship, it has few tac boff ability slots and loads of engineer ones so you can fit lots of heals but not so many damage boosting powers.

    Pryor, things will be a lot easier if you address the following:

    1 Use weapons that can all point in the same direction. Currently you have 90 degree firing arc front and back. So if you really like to have dual beam banks front, get yourself some 360 degree rear weapons, alternatively move to wide arc single beam banks as most people would in a heavy cruiser. Essentially choose both weapon energy type and beam, dbb, cannons etc and it will then be easier for people to offer advice.

    Generally for DBB ships with five front weapons are better than 4:4 cruisers.


    2 Get a space set rather than using a mix of deflector, engines, shield and core, these will give boosts such as the Sol set that adds 35 kinetic damage resistance and 25 enargy resistance as a bonus if two parts of the set are used, thats just an example. Get a mark 12 engine and the ship will move more quickly, the free solonae one is qood.

    3 The console choices of armour, armour, nanites, shield console - drop the monotanium, shield console and nanites as soon as possible and find stuff that boosts damage, either free mission reward consoles, the rep system or off the exchange. For example:
    Temporal disentanglment suite from playing the mission Butterfly. Note the 360 degree tetryon beam having that and the console is like adding half a tac console due to the set bonus - hint get both

    A WHAT!? Most escorts dont have a science or engineering variant. (Pilot ships are the only exceptions I know of).
    Seriously its all in how you build your ships... I play Adv or Elite difficulty for missions in a T5u Wells or T5u Dyson.
    Seriously bro..If your in game..Ill have to show ya in a co-op mission.

    It's a really useful site for planning and sharing your builds.

    A few tips that I know that might help you:
    • In general you want as many weapons as you can focused on your target on all times. Right now, none of your aft weapons are doing anything while you're facing your target. On a build like this, I would either recommend switching to beam arrays, which allow you to broadside and "focus" all of your weapons at once; or use omni-directional beams (mission reward, on the exchange) on the back and keep the Dual Beam Banks up front.
    • For certain combinations of {shields, deflectors, engines} and {weapon, console, other} you get set bonuses, which provide bonuses to various abilities just for having these combinations installed. For example, the Krenim Temporal Manipulation set provides tetryon-themed bonuses. (It is available from the Butterfly mission in the Iconian War arc. (more info on sets)
    • The reputation system rewards some very high quality items in exchange for dilithium, energy credits, and marks which are rewarded from PVE queues. If you like tetryon weaponry, I'd recommend starting with the Nukara Reputation. For example, after contributing to the Nukara reputation for a few days, you will start getting Mk 12 (I believe) purple tetryon weapons, which are a step up from what you're currently using.
    • There are a great deal other, smaller things that can help boost your build tremendously. These are harder to explain in text; rather, you'll learn the little things just from playing the game and experimenting.

    This a quick-n-dirty, very cheap build that you could probably cobble together in a week or so just by playing the game, and should probably be a significant improvement over what you're currently flying.

    The most expensive item is the omni-directional tetryon beam array, (~2 or so million on the exchange the last time I checked). If this is too much, you could replace it with a tetryon turret; a bit less powerful, but significantly cheaper.

    Also, while the above advice is all very useful, if you really want a way to turn zen/dil into EC, use it to buy Keys and sell them on the exchange. That being said, following the advice above is much more useful than throwing money at the problem.

    It's been explained to you on several occasions that Dilithium is not a tradeable commodity. You cannot buy from other players with Dilithium. You can however, convert Dilithium to Energy Credits as I explained to you in another thread. You trade Dilithum for Zen, then you use the Zen to buy Master Keys and sell the Keys for Energy Credits. That's how you convert Dilithium to a tradeable resource, in this case Energy Credits.

    Now, I'll explain how massively far off you are in your interpretation of Weapon Value.

    To buy one Master Key, you need 125 Zen. At the current exchange rate of 300:1 that's 37,500 Dilithium for 1 key.

    That one key sells for just under 5 Million EC, but for the sake of ease we will just call it 5 Million even.

    You want an entire set of Epic Antiproton Dual Beam Banks at Mark XIV. We'll assume you're looking for ones with fantastic mods because I know you're looking for the most powerful you can get. Dual Beam Banks are harder to find since fewer people craft them then single beams. If I'm being conservative, an AntiProton Dual Beam Bank at Mark XIV Epic would probabably run on average of 200-250 Million EC each on the exchange, maybe more.

    To get one of those, you would need to sell 50 keys, which would cost 1,875,000 Dilithium.. each weapon.

    To get what you want, that would take approximately 7,500,000 Dilithium and that's just for 4 weapons. Yes, that's right 7.5 Million Dilithium. When you say you have a lot of Dilithium.. you don't.

    The good news is, those weapons are unnecessarily expensive and you can get really good weapons for far cheaper. The best bet for you is Fleet Weapons, but you're going to have to stop being impatient, join a fleet and cooperate. Your self formed 1 man fleet will never get you to this goal. There are other ways to get good weapons cheap, but before we even go into that, you need to fix your build which we're still waiting for you to post.
