Would you want Type 7 hangar pets?

If we get any more TNG-era ships with hangars I really hope the devs add Type 7 shuttles (regular, advanced, and elite) as hangar pets.
In the immortal words of Captain Sisko: "It may not be what you believe, but that doesn't make it wrong."

Don't believe the lies in this forum. I am NOT an ARC user. I play STO on Steam or not at all.

I'm kinda hoping to see Miranda, Centaur or Shi'kahr light cruisers coming out, or defiants from larger hangar bays to keep up with Klingon B'rels and Breen Plesh'breks. Even up the playing field a bit. a Mobile starbase needs good defenses.
    T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW.
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

Honestly i don't mind what hanger-pets we get, but to be truthful I would prefer a bit more verity in the hanger-pet's weaon an ability load-outs. If anything it would be nice to have it so you could equip your hanger-pets more to your liking, such as a set-up that you can slot your choice of weapons onto the pets you are using, while having the ability they use linked to the type of hanger pet they are

Sounds great and I would love it. But hangar pets right now are a glorified console. The only way I could see them being able to do that would be to look at the small craft you have set and use that as hangar pets and it be an innate ability of carriers. But then you lose the mix and match as well as frigate pets.

Nor should they be. Their ships would look weird.

If they move away from the DPS stand alone setup we currently use. I might consider switching over to a Carrier from a more support/tanking stance. But as it stands right now, you don't need anything more than an escort.

I have a few build ideas for a carrier. So a type-7 shuttle option wouldn't be that bad of an idea. But, there is just no reason to bother with it. Since there is no need for tank or support ships.

Eh I would be fine with a set-up where you can equip your available hanger-pets either while you are on a star-base like in the ship-yard areas, or via visiting a duty officer in our ship interiors.

While for me the carriers I wish came with a expanded UI set-up, which might in someways function like the ground boff system giving us access to set they hanger-pet's ability to auto-cast or manual-cast (we signal when they use it basically), but leaving the non-carriers with the old UI (though I actually don't mind the idea of using this on all hanger-pet using ships.). While also I actually think it would be interesting if we had some consoles that would give bonuses to our hanger-pets stats, which though would be at the cost of giving our main-ship a lower bonus (the bonus would be based on what kind of console it is engineering, science, and tactical.).

I don't really enjoy carriers much (too slow for me) but I reckon one can make a pretty potent DPS carrier if they wanted to. The pet buff of S13 was pretty big. The Elite Epochs on my Eternal do over 2k DPS each now (up from 500-600 each). It won't top DPS records, but a fully kitted-out carrier should be able to leverage pets to augment its fewer weapon slots.

Right now ships without pets are at a disadvantage IMO.

Of course. As long as Cryptic doesn't try to charge me 2000 Zen for them. ;)
But I don't see how they could be much different, stats-wise, than the other shuttle. It seems to be the truck/bus shuttle, so not really a combat vessel. Even if given the same stats as the other shuttle, it'd be a nice visual option.
