Did Borg Red Alert change? Suddenly instantly dying / not doing any damage.

Hey guys!

So I was playing my toon for a while. I just got her back up to level 60 since I started over. Anyway, I've maxed out and built my ship.. I was doing Borg Red Alert's.. And I was doing okay. I could take on the group of 2 Cube's.. Or the group of 1 Cube and spheres.. I could blow them up at a "reasonable" time.. I wasn't a DPS player, but you know.. I managed to destroy all the enemies within a reasonable time frame. I could heal myself, everything went smoothly. I know the Borg always takes away shields, but I have a high resistance rating, over 100k in hull. And a lot of powerful heals due to me being an Engineer.

Then due to work and stuff, I couldn't play for a while. Like 1-2 weeks..Ish.

Now when I try to do a Borg Red Alert.. They just don't take my shields down, they almost immediately blow my ship up. I go from 102,550 hull to 0 in a few seconds. I can't even manage to hit a heal button or activate a keybind before I instantly blow up. Most of the time there is "No damage recorded" thingy. But mostly I've been defeated by "Borg Plasma Torpedo" even when no torpedo is visible. I usually catch those with a tractor beam.

I also notice for some reason, I litteraly do almost no damage when I actually manage to stay in the fight. I can no inflict any noticeable damage to the Borg ships. It's like I'm throwing rocks at it.

Has something changed during the last updates or something?

    Nothing has changed, no.

The only reason I can think of for the difference is perhaps you were just with a really bad team and everything was focusing on you?

I'm not sure what would cause such a huge difference, but I haven't noticed any change at all in Red Alerts and no change was announced or documented. Honestly sounds like you just had a run of bad luck and hit one of those uber death torps.

I thought that at first too. But it's happening all the time in Borg Red Alert's.. For some reason when the final boss ship comes in.. I have zero problems surviving even when it's targeting me. But normal Cube's and Sphere's seem to "one-shot" me.

I do not have problems in the Tholian Red Alert. It's quite puzzling. I was looking into maybe it was lag problems or something. I guess I will try again tomorrow.

Their Tachyon Beams strip your shields and then maybe they hit you with a Plasma Torpedo? Try checking the Damage History Button to see what the sequence was.

Did all your traits unslot? That's the usual cause of "suddenly quickly dead syndrome".

Good call.. it's happened to me a few times. Traits just suddenly clear themselves.
