Is Star Trek Really Promoting "White Genocide"?

Hay Guys I been watching a lot of YouTube lately trying to get a clips of any update on Star Trek Discovery and I come across these Videos of Dumb-asses that says Star Trek is promoting White Genocide and YES but YES in a different answer then you may think because What Star Trek is about Unity for all Nations of the Earth and dose not have the mention of Race Identification so you think about it Its Promoting it is Promoting about it but in a good way in Canada (were Star Trek Discovery is being shot in Toronto) We Do not use anything like White Black Yellow Brown to identify with Race what we use is Greek Jamaican Asian Indian and Natives There Nationally not colour Based on there Skin! I think what Star Trek is Trying to do is get rid of the "race" card that people in the US use to describe someone. From the Original Series This ideal was present and it continued throw out the franchise. We all Human No one is Different Dose not matter where your born what colour your skin is WE are same and that what Star Trek is all about and these Closed minded Duffie's that use Star Trek to promote there hate dose not understand the meaning behind Star Trek at all that is we all EQUAL No one is above the other it is socialism at its best. We Must Stand Strong as a Race because no matter What Part of Earth where were born We are Human and have A Voice and Star Trek provides that voice so please no matter how bad Star Trek Discovery is please support it that is Star Trek thank you

    Don't pay attention to idiots on the internet. Also... it's not just morons in America that are always playing the race card. Anyone that does play that card though... I gladly give the middle finger. It's usually people that will say whatever they can to get someone else in trouble and get their way... much like a 5 year old.

    Obviously, you already know what Star Trek is all about given your post. Just because the new series has someone of a different ethnicity in charge doesn't mean that the show has any intention of promoting the absurd idea of genocide towards any group of people.

      There is a huge difference between White Genocide and Caucasians becoming endangered or extinct due to everyone being mixed race. Personally, I am surprised that there are a ton of Whites in the 24th Century. With the interstellar culture of the 24th Century Federation, almost everyone should have a bit of color in their DNA.

      I cant understand how they think Discovery is suddenly doing something the rest of Star Trek has never done.

      Star Trek has always spoken out against racism and bigotry. TOS had more than a few moments that dealt with it. One of my favorites is my current signature.

      A genocide is killing a group of people with a common ethnicity or similar common element.

      A genocide is not people intermingling because they treat each other as equals despite their difference.

      I've never seen a scene where a Starfleet death squad has been hunting down a bunch of white humans, and I have heard no rumors of such a thing occurring in DSC, so I would go with:
      You've heard bovine excrement, and you should be more discerning and critical in what and whom you listen to or read.

      there is no different "races" among one species. there is cultural heritage and that is a richness.

      Yeah, well, unfortunately the available actors don't.

      This was discussed to death in the main DSC thread months ago. The consensus, I believe, was that while diversifying the crew as if you're checking off boxes could be problematic if they're written as just stereotypes and not developed characters, there are factors mitigating:
      • Star Trek has had both ethnically and nationally diverse casts (at least in terms of character origin) from day one. Trust me, having a Russian on the Enterprise senior staff would've been just as controversial in the mid-60s as having a black, female commissioned officer there.
      • The whole "controversy" was probably started by maybe three or four wannabe trolls and sensationalized.

      At that point i see Racism as only a fallacy. The use of it these days is just to dramatize a point that doesn't really exist as you mention, we are all human, all exactly the same and bleed the same stuff.

      Our Ethnic backgrounds is what makes us all unique and yes it's a richness for everyone to share in even if some take it too far, it doesn't matter what your skin pigment is, what matters is everything we all achieve together.

      It only takes one to start a rockslide or cause an avalanche in a figurative means, Gene had the audacity to challenge sterotypes and ethnic issues head on, he also challenged religious extremists, politics and other issues of the era. A Man thinking well ahead of his time and beyond.
