Please help me get started creating missions

I am an old game designer from back in the Quake III Arena days, and im sure it wouldn't be too much different, as i have some incredible ideas for a mission set, good enough to even land me a job at STO

I can help as much as I can but I'd need to know what it is that you need help with.

If what you're needing is getting a hang of the editor, here's a handy tutorial series produced by the Foundry Roundtable podcast. It'll take you through all the major aspects involved in creating a Foundry mission.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43E3Ylo-Pi4&list=PLZuDSOW9mgW7BG_CStEARdES1FPkPiGNB

The Roundtable can also demo specific techniques on our regular shows if you want to see how certain Foundry tricks are done. A few points on getting started:
    1. Take a look at the Foundry spotlights to get a reasonable baseline for Foundry content. These aren't wholly representative but they'll at least cue you into what other players are commonly experiencing and what they might expect. Early works tend to be given a lot more slack than later builds, so don't let anything stand in your way from giving this a shot (we all learn at different paces), but it's still worth pushing the Foundry as far as you can with every mission.
    2. Most of what we do in the Foundry takes time and iteration (building 3D environments from a 2D top-down editor), so be prepared for lots of testing and waiting through the accompanying load times.
    3. There are a few bugs that you may encounter during your first build. If you find something doesn't work or goes wrong, take a look over at the Foundry bug forums. If there's a work around, it'll be posted there. (Key ones to keep in mind now: map transitions don't work while in the editor, sometimes objective triggers break while in the editor [published missions are fine], and there's no way of changing Foundry space lighting under lighting 2.0 as of now. More detail on these can be found over in the bug forums.)

Let us know if you have any questions. :)

Looking for something new to play? I've started building Foundry missions again in visual novel form!

the Editor is built into the game, just click on the "create content" tab in the character selection screen, you also need a bit of dilithium to create your foundry project slots, but that's it no additional downloads are needed.

It should be noted that the Foundry is PC exclusive due some issues the Foundry is not avaible for X-Box or PS4

I think that is best, the Console Foundry would just fill up with complete nonsense; given the difficulty that would be there using a controller to manipulate the foundry.
