PS4 Problem downloading the patch !!! - Crash after 300Mo

Hello, we are two, in different countries, USA/France, and the download speed is very slow, largely under the capacity of our ADSL connection ...
10 hours to download 6.5 GO ??? and more than this, each time we reach 300 Mo downloaded, the download crash and stop...
Can you please fix it or at least see if there is something wrong with your patch ?

What is the size of the patch ? Is that 6.5 Go or 17.980 Go ? now it is more than ten time i re-download, because after 300 Mo downloaded, the download stop and nothing happen...
And i saw at the very first time i downloaded a 16 go Go patch, then a 6.5go patch, and now it is downloading correctly but the patch is 17.980 go (STO PS4 size)...
Can you confirm the real size please ?

Look, calm down. You have an admin response right there stating they're working on it. A little patience can do a person wonders. You aren't missing anything with a little waiting anyway as Phoenix ended during the downtime and the Endeavor system is a daily(?) thing. Also, Nimbus isn't going anywhere if your goal is to farm lockboxes and Brushfire is a weekly thing.

That's a PSN thing, not Cryptic's, and happens all the time. What's going on is that your PS4 is estimating an incorrect file size, based on the total amount of potential downloads, due to network issues not giving it the proper metadata required. It usually sorts itself out within minutes, if not seconds, but stuff happens.

For the record, I'm getting the proper file size, but my download craps out after about 500mb.

Come on Kid, you calm down (Are you working for PSN or Cryptic ? - if not, let them talk) i am giving a feedback about an existing problem which is critical, it is now since the publication of the update i am trying to update... I have never seen something like this. Just before that STO patch, i was downloading another game, and it was full speed with no interruption...
Truely, i rarely saw a so bad bandwidth... that is incredible... and i get all my games on the PSN STORE...

With that STO 4.01 Patch, we can't even let the download and do another thing (watch Tv, go out, or anything, because the download crash after some time and doesn't restart...

I am Lifetime User, and have put a lot of money in this game, more than in any game if you want to know, I am not a dilithium trader for zen, and we all are mature players so keep your language quiet, you aren't talking to a kid or a teenager..

We are Cryptic and Arc Games customers, and we just want Cryptic ask Playstation to do something about that patch and make them do their job.
I am not alone, all players from my entire armada have the same problem (since i published in our community the patch release , I am flooded by players messages which can't download the patch), we are all in different countries of the world, USA - different regions, France, Morocco, Canada, and all with different internet providers with Fiber/ASDL/Cable and strong connection... And we all have the same problem, the patch start to download, and stop after a bit of time...
We are downloading 100 mo by 100 Mo, then it stop and we should re-start it... We can't even do something else because when it stop it didn't start again...

That is not my job to complain about Playstation even if i am a PSN+ user, that is Cryptic and Arc Games job... Our job here is to have fun !!!

If you want to have an idea Kael, here is a screenshot of my Router, you can see the bandwidth for the two last hours (count i started download immediately after the release of the update at +-3h30 GMT), and i have only the 2 last hours because i tried another router to see if it was from my, and different DNS tests, rebooted the router a couple of time, resynchronized my ADSL modem, etc... My bandwidth capacity is 12Mb download (1.4Mo/sec)...
Each time you see a hole in the graph, it is because the download stopped and needed to been restarted manually (i watch my bandwidth - very relaxing) ...

That is a normal download :

ERROR CE-40852-9 is a psn problem not cryptic, i've had it a few times recently with different game/update downloads the sto update crashed a few times but then it eventually downloaded after retrying about 4 times

Today i can confirm the problem come from PSN Servers (May be because of IRMA), i tried to download another update for another game, and same problem...

But it don't change anything, We are customers to Cryptic, Arc and PSN, and as a single user we don't have enough power to make PSN change things, but Cryptic and ARC as big companies, can do that...
So They can make PSN repair their servers ...

I have been downloading the file for nearly 48 hours and was advised to restart the download a couple of times and I am currently at 2.5 gig of 6.5 with 12 hours yet to go after leaving it on all night (12 hours). This is a joke. This would normally a 2 - 3 hour download.

I was finally able to complete the download today. I had to restart from scratch but it was able to complete within a couple hours.

Are you telling us, it is better to delete STO and re-downloading it ?
I thought about it, because usually after an update i prefer to re-download the entire file to avoid bugs like the bugs we have actually with STO : All ship and ground abilities are disabled each time we finish a mission or PVE...

As usual Cryptic fix something and broke another thing...
Remember the Turn rate ?

No. Just cancel the update and then restart the download. It should work.

It is exactly what i have done during 4 hours, instead of 1h20 (time to dl 6.6Go at my full adsl speed)...
But PSN have a big problems now (when download crash, they don't restart automatically as usual), and may be STO servers too, because there is a lot of lag on Star Trek Online...

Well, seems the solution is to have a little patience. I managed to finish the patch, without deleting it, just be babysitting the download. Took a while but it worked and I've gotten the last two Endeavors just fine (pretty worthless rewards if you ask me). Also finally got in a Brushfire run. Nice that they give the real rewards without having to pick between them.

A little patience goes a long way.

Staying in front of your TV during 4 hours of more is not a solution, it is time lost ...
