I have been playing STO on PC since it was first released. I only recently started to play it on xbox one also. I have 2 lvl 60 chars now on xbox, so nothing here is preventing using that platform...but there are some features I have on PC that I'd like to know how to access on xbox (if possible or let me know if feature not available):
1. Cycle targets on Enemies only. In PC, I can tab my way through enemy targets, or simply click target with mouse. On XBox, whatever enemy you hit first becomes primary target. To switch targets you have to click right stick, then move it to change targets...unfortunately that causes several problems:
a. It cycles through ALL targets, not just enemies. In CE for example, there are lots of other players around.
b. When switching targets, it redirects camera to look at target, which is also very disorienting, esp when it grabs targets not in front of you.
c. Trying to put cursor over blank area and click can clear a bad target, but trying to pick up something like CE when it is surrounded by other players and shards can be difficult. Would be nice if there were targeting options to only cycle enemies, or target strongest opponent.
2. I bought a 500 Reputation Mark boost in exchange and used it...and my mark earnings went up. However, I cannot find anywhere in UI, HUD, or option screens where it shows how much of each boost I have left (or what boosts are active). I can usually tell when it runs out when my mark count goes down...but it would be helpful if this info were on a screen somewhere.
3. PC in queue list has button to show cooldown times, not only for special events, but also for each type of reputation or fleet mark. With so many reputations to build up, I'd prefer to do each once a day, but unless I keep track on paper somewhere, I often lose track of how long it has been since I did a rep type...so I often end up doing events for minimal marks due to no bonus. Is there nowhere in xbox to view list of all rep cooldowns? Perhaps add a page for stuff that doestn fit anywhere else in xbox interface (cooldown lists, active player boosts, etc).
4. I have crafting resources on my crafting page. I then bought some in exchange and instead of going to crafting stack it went to main inventory. When this happens on pc, I can drag it from inventory to bank, then from bank to crafting panel. I cannot find how to do this on xbox. In xbox, when I click item or move item in inventory, there is no option to move it crafting panel. If I move it to bank then click it in bank, the only option I get is to move it back to main inventory, not the crafting panel. how can I move crafting materials from inventory to crafting panel? My inventory fills up a lot and it would help if some slots were not wasted on crafting materials.
5. In the heat of combat, I press buttons hard. Unfortunately that often apparently includes the left stick, which means that my my 5 space combat powers (X, Y, B, Left Trigger, Left Button) are constantly changing from my selected option to some other random option on wheel. Is there no way to "lock in" the selections similar to how on the PC we have option to "lock tray"? I would like to prevent accidental swaps of my button assignments during combat.
6. Space dogfights would be much easier with a real joystick/flightstick, but for some reason nobody seems to be making them for xbox platform...not sure if microsoft is blocking them or what. If anyone knows if its possible to get one for xbox anywhere, let me know...I heard rumor of one from recent E3 show or something like that, but no release date.
7. Dilithium mining game. You really only want 4 directions, up/down and left right to retarget mining laster. The xbox has a Directional pad (D-Pad) button that just has those 4 buttons and would work, but the game uses left joystick instead which is omnidirectional. I'm constantly having it go left when I meant up and vice versa if the stick ends up somewhere in between...since the game orients the drill target at various angles, many time the "top/up" is actually to left and I instinctively move the stick in that direction which messes up. On PC I usually get 900+ per game. on xbox avg closer to 400 due to left stick issue.
Thanks.

The Crafting Mats can also be double clicked and they will go to the R&D tab on PC.

Thx.. I'll remember that for my pc. Unfortunately the xbox does not recognize double-clicks. And the options for single clicking materials in inventory (split stack, destroy, etc) dont include a move to crafting option.
Joysticks are probably going to be hard to find. I think its lack of demand from people rather than Microsoft blocking them. Way back I had an xbox and I needed a joystick for a game I had. I spent three months looking to find one, when I did it was a used one from a third party company that was xbox compatible. I was even told they dont make them. It worked for a couple of weeks then it broke. (Like you I am a bit hard on key and button presses.)
Maybe things are different now, but I havent seen any joy/flight sticks.

Hopefully if we get a resurgence of Air/Space Combat Sims we'll see the joystick return.

There is now a HOTAS due out soon for the XB1 after the Elite:Dangerous crowd made their voice heard.
A lot of the things you list here are also ones I asked about in regards to the PS4 version.
Good chunk of them come across as being done by someone who has never actually used a console or controller.
Somethings are barebones to get them working in the most minimal way possibly (scanning minigame using thumbsticks not dpad or ABXY buttons) while others are half done (that autofire abilities that cover only some abilities despite button options being limited)
Targetting is another shining example of a half baked port. Once the lock grabs a friendly it simply won't ever go onto an enemy or it if does its one thats miles off in the distance behind several walls. The targetting reticle is also larger than the oversized rectangle they have for it which makes things even more annoying. There have been times when as an engineer a turret behind me has grabbed the target lock.
One pet peeve of mine that isnt mentioned is the lack of buff/debuff icons.
For the crafting mats there should be a button option that works similar to right clicking on PC where it brings up a list and you get the option of move to crafting tab. Pretty sure I've seen one on the PS4 version.
