Log In Screen Bridge Officer display

Can someone please explain why some of my individual Bridge Officers behind some of my character in the log in screen have certain geometrical shaped icons over them displayed? When I try to mouse over them there is no info. Is there any way to find out what the icons mean? Thank you.
