fighter comparisons

I'm comparing fighters for use on my Eternal bay. I love frigates and loathe the fragile fighters. I use dil store fighters as I don't have the fleet resources to get swarmers. I'm comparing the Epoch, Peregrine, Delta Flyer and Timeship from the Paradox. They are all too fragile for my taste. I'd like to try the Yellowstone but haven't purchased a ship that unlocks them. I don't know if they would be worth the effort. I'm disappointed that the 26th Century frigates don't fit the Eternal bay. Have you found a dil store ship that performs well. I am wiling to purchase a ship to unlock use in the Eternal. What ship/ pets would you recommend?

On my chronos and the eternal I use the elite versions of the native pets those ships have. I don’t recall them performing too weak in any way.

If you dislike them perhaps Elite Scorpions form Romulan reputation or Elite Swarmers parse better numbers in PvE tho I doubt you gain that much.

Give me a shout in game and I invite you to one of our fleet maps if you want elite fleet pets from fleet holdings. The fleet you are in just needs provisions.

Thank you for your gracious invitation to acquire fleet pets. I don't have the fleet resources currently. I would love to have swarmers if I have to use fighters but I believe that regular swarmers can only be used with the ships they come on such as the Jupiter. Dil store swarmers are not universal. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I started grinding both rep Widows and Scorpions and am glad to hear that rep Scorpions are better performers than universal dil store fighters.

Are there any frigates that will fit the Eternal bay? Again, I am open to zen purchases if I get a great universal pet from the dil store.

I'm afraid frigates are restricted to "dreadnought" or "carrier" ships. You need a big mothership to be carrying around something that's the size of some escorts. As a matter of fact, I believe several frigates are playable: Birds of Prey (let's not get picky about which BoP), the Herald Baltim, the Breen Plesh Brek, the classic Jem'Hadar Attack Ship, etc. In any event, frigates are usually locked to one or two specific carriers and I'm not sure any of them are compatible with the Chronos Temporal Dreadnought, which is as close as you're gonna get to a frigate-launching Eternal.

My Eternal-flying toons mostly stick with dil store Epoch fighters. I'd like them a bit more if they were better at using Channeled Deconstruction to spread entropy for my boff abilities to combo off of.

As for the Yellowstone, the wiki says it's a fleet purchase and follows on from the Danube runabouts. I don't know if the Eternal counts for opening up standard pets since I owned escort carriers for a while before buying one. Personally, I rather like the Delta Flyers from the dil store: the durability of a runabout with a Tachyon Beam to drain enemy shields come in handy on escort carriers.

Thanks for the frigate info. I am surprised the Yellowstone is as durable as a regular runabout. I tried the Delta Flyer and didn't notice much improvement over fighters. I guess the upgrade path is rep Scorpions to Fleet Swarmers. Thanks for the clarification.

I'm a big fan of the elite scorpions from the romulan rep. The cannon/turret combo gives them plenty of chances to pull aggro away from you, and twelve of the little buggers can fire a big wave of plasma torpedoes that keep moving from target to target until there is nothing in range. Just for the heck of it, I sometimes stock up on the lower-tier scorpions from The Vault, so I can have six more launched to look at. (yes, the Nimbus pirates and the Delta escorts are better, but they don't take up a device slot)
